A new CoIIcomplex of diniconazole, namely diaqua[(E)-(RS)-1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-4,4-dimethyl-2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl-κN4)pent-1-en-3-ol]cobalt(II) dinitrate dihydrate, [Co(C15H17Cl2N3O)3(H2O)2](NO3)2·2H2O, was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Crystal structural analysis shows that the centrosymmetric CoIIcation is coordinated by four diniconazole ligands and two water molecules, forming a six-coordinated octahedral structure. There are also two free nitrate counter-anions and two additional solvent water molecules in the structure. Intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds link the complex cations into a one-dimensional chain. In addition, the antifungal activity of the complex againstBotryosphaeria ribis,Gibberella nicotiancola,Botryosphaeria berengrianaandAlternariasolaniwas studied. The results indicate that the complex shows a higher antifungal activity forBotryosphaeria ribisandBotryosphaeria berengrianathan diniconazole, but a lower antifungal activity forGibberella nicotiancolaandAlternariasolani.

A new Na (I) complex, [Na (H2O)5(DMF)]·(L) (L=1,5-naphthalenedisulfonate) has been obtained in the CH3CH2OH and a little DMF solution. The complex was characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis. The results showed that the local geometry around central Na (I) ion can be described a distorted octahedral environment which connected by five water molecules and one DMF molecule. The complex formed one dimensional chain structure through intramolecule and intermolecule hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking.

1D chain Ca(II) coordination polymer was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, IR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, The results of crystal structure show that each Ca(II) ion forms eight-coordinated and the complex formed one dimensional chain structure by the oxygen atoms of carboxylate and water bridged. The antibacterial activity of the Ca(II) coordination polymer and the ligand were tested, the results show that the complex show considerable antibacterial activity against escherichia coli, bacillus subtilis and staphylococcus white.

17-Allyl-4,5-anhydro-7α-[(R)-1-hydroxy-1-methyl-3-(2-thienyl)propyl]-6-methoxy-6,14-ethanomorphinan-3,4,5-triol (thienorphine 6) was synthesized and structurally characterized by NMR spectra, ESI-MS and X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure indicates that thienorphine maintained the main rigid structure of morphine while containing the C6-C14 ethano bridge. The allyl group is located in the equatorial position as expected. The packing diagram of 6 showed the presence of intramolecular and intermolecular O-H···O hydrogen bonds linking the molecules into a zigzag infinite quasi-one-dimensional chain structure.

The Zn (II) complex [Zn (O2CFcCO2)(H2O)2]H2O was synthesized with ferrocenedicarboxylic acid under mild conditions. Its crystal structure was characterized by elemental analysis, IR data and X-ray diffraction single crystal structure analyses. The Zn (II) coordination units are connected, forming one-dimensional chain. At the meanwhile, the luminescence properties and the electronic properties were determined.

AbstractThe cyano-bridged heteronuclear coordination polymer of zinc(II)/nickel(II) has been prepared by N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-ethylendiamine (hydet-en), alternatively named 2-(2-aminoethylamino)-ethanol and characterised by IR and thermal analysis. In the bimetallic complex, the decomposition of hydet-en ligands is seen to be endothermic whereas that of the cyano ligands is found to be exothermic. The crystal structure of the complex has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure of the zinc(II)-nickel(II) complex consists of a one-dimensional polymeric chain –Zn(hydet-en)

Abstract 2-Hydroxy-5-methoxyphenylphosphonic acid (H3L1) and the complex [Cu(H2L1)2(H2O)2] were synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, and X-ray diffraction analysis. The polyhedron of the copper atom is an axially elongated square bipyramid with oxygen atoms of phenolic and of monodeprotonated phosphonic groups at the base and oxygen atoms of water molecules at the vertices. The protonation constants of the H3L1 acid and the stability constants of its Cu2+ complexes in water were determined by potentiometric titration. The protonation constants of the acid in water are significantly influenced by the intramolecular hydrogen bond and the methoxy group. The H3L1 acid forms complexes CuL‒ and CuL24‒ with Cu2+ in water.

The crystal structure of the title compound, Ca(C6H2N307)2,5H2O, has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction at 295(1) K and refined by least squares to a residual of 0.049 for 1513 'observed' reflections. Crystals are orthorhombic, Pmab, a 24.169(6), b l0.292(7), c 8.554(2) , Z 4. The stereochemistry about the calcium has not been observed previously for the system [M(bidentate)2- (unidentate)4]; in the present structure, the calcium is coordinated by a pair of bidentate picrate ligands and the four water molecules in an array in which three of the water molecules occupy a triangular face of a square antiprism, the overall array having m symmetry. The remaining water molecule occupies a lattice site with no close interaction with the other species.

A stoichiometric complex of formula maleic acid•2H2O•18-crown-6 has been obtained from maleic acid and the macrocyclic polyether 18-crown-6. Crystals of this complex have been shown by X-ray diffraction crystallography to belong to the Cc space group of the monoclinic system. The acid molecules in the adduct are linked to each other through a water molecule, giving infinite [-acid-H2O-]n chains. They are also linked to the crown ether via water molecules. The infrared and Raman spectra of the complex are presented and compared to those of crystalline maleic acid. Keywords: maleic acid/18-crown-6, structure, X-ray, spectra.

A chain Ni (II) coordination polymer material was prepared and characterized by elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in monoclinic, space group C2/c with a = 1.24348(13) nm, b = 1.29477(12) nm, c = 1.51480(17) nm and Dc = 1.401 g•cm-3. The results of structural analysis indicated that each Ni (II) ion forms six-coordinated with nitrogen atoms of pyridine and thiocyanate, and the Ni (II) coordination polymer material formed one dimensional chain structure by the interaction of pyridine rings.

Four lithium coordination polymers, [Li3(BTC)(H2O)6] (1), [Li3(BTC)(H2O)5] (2), [Li3(BTC)(μ2-H2O)] (3), and [Li(H2BTC)(H2O)] (4) (H3BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylatic acid), have been synthesized and characterized. All the structures have been determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. Complexes 1 and 2 have two-dimensional (2-D) sheets, whereas complex 3 has three-dimensional (3-D) frameworks and complex 4 has one-dimensional (1-D) tubular chains. The crystal-to-crystal transformation was observed in 1–3 upon removal of water molecules, which accompanied the changes in structures and ligand bridging modes. Furthermore, the electrochemical properties of complexes 3 and 4 have been studied to evaluate these compounds as electrode materials in lithium ion batteries with the discharge capacities of 120 and 257 mAhg−1 in the first thirty cycles, respectively.
