We report on the interplay between ferromagnetism and superconductivity in trilayers La0.7Ca0.3MnO3/YBa2Cu3O7/La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 made of half metallic manganite and high temperature superconductor cuprate. Samples with a fully oxygenated cuprate show a magnetic field interval where the magnetizations of the manganite are aligned antiparallel. A considerable magnetoresistance accompanies the switching between magnetization configurations (parallel vs. antiparallel) of the manganite moments. Suppression of the free carrier density of the cuprate which occurs upon oxygen depletion, results in deep modifications in the shape of the normal state hysteresis loops indicating that there may be a magnetic coupling mediated by free carrier density of the cuprate. This result outlines the importance of quasiparticle transmission in the interplay between ferromagnetism and superconductivity in this kind of samples.

ABSTRACTThis paper presents results of a study of the degradation of commercially available GaAs and AlGaAs light emitting diodes subjected to neutron bombardment at a TRIGA reactor. Devices were characterized using current-voltage and light output measurements prior to and following a sequence of neutron irradiations and after high temperature annealing. A model is derived which can be used to determine the lifetime damage constant product, τoK, if the light output measurements as a function of IMeV equivalent neutron fluence are made at a fixed operating current. For current levels smaller than approximately 1 ma, τoK and operating current is logarithmic with τoK decreasing as current increases. Annealing at temperature up to 275°C recovers some of the neutroninduced damage but does not affect the validity of the model.

In this paper, GaAs and Ge solar cells have been studied and simulated separately and the inner characteristics of each have been calculated including the energy band structure, the internal field, carrier density distribution in the equilibrium condition (dark condition) and the voltage-current curve in the sun exposure with the output power of each one. Finally, the output power of these two mechanically stacked cells is achieved. Drift-diffusion model have been used for simulation that solved with numerically method and Gummel algorithm. In this simulation, the final cells exposed to sun light in a standard AM 1.5 G conditions and temperatures are 300° K. The efficiency of the proposed structure is 9.47%. The analytical results are compared with results of numerical simulations and the accuracy of the method used is shown.
