This study aims to analyze the enteroparasitic occurrence in children from 0 to 12 years old consulted at the University of western São Paulo Clinical Laboratory, Presidente Prudente, SP, Brazil, in relation to the socioeconomic profile of the attended children. Stool samples were examined and a questionnaire was applied with the objective of knowing the patient's age, sex, medical attendance, characteristic of the habitation, provisioning of water, dejection and domestic waste fates, use of footwear and clinical signs. The software EPI INFO 6 (Version 6.04b) was used for the elaboration of the data bank structure and analysis after previous data codification. Among 1,000 children analyzed, as many as 21.3% presented some kind of parasite. The most frequent protozoan was Giardia lamblia (7.3%) followed by Entamoeba coli (3.9%). The most frequent helminth was Enterobius vermicularis (1.9%) followed by Hymenolepis nana (0.5%). The most frequent protozoan association was Giardia lamblia / Entamoeba coli (0.9%).


The performance of Mel scale and Bark scale is evaluated for text-independent speaker identification system. Mel scale and Bark scale are designed according to human auditory system. The filter bank structure is defined using Mel and Bark scales for speech and speaker recognition systems to extract speaker specific speech features. In this work, performance of Mel scale and Bark scale is evaluated for text-independent speaker identification system. It is found that Bark scale centre frequencies are more effective than Mel scale centre frequencies in case of Indian dialect speaker databases. Mel scale is defined as per interpretation of pitch by human ear and Bark scale is based on critical band selectivity at which loudness becomes significantly different. The recognition rate achieved using Bark scale filter bank is 96% for AISSMSIOIT database and 95% for Marathi database.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how an e-bank’s structure (click-and-mortar bank vs internet-only bank) influences the consumer’s evaluation of website quality, and to identify the most significant website features that influence online trust and lead to consumer loyalty. Design/methodology/approach A non-probability convenience sample of 476 online bank users (248 click-and-mortar and 230 internet-only bank users) was used in this study. An online survey was conducted. Structural equation modeling and multi-group analysis were used to analyze the data. Findings Findings suggest that e-trust and e-loyalty levels depend on the e-banking structure. Click-and-mortar-based online users were found to have more trust and loyalty in their online banks than internet-only bank users. Findings demonstrate that website features are evaluated differently according to the e-bank structure. Information design and interactivity are very important for internet-only banks, and their effect on online trust seems to be higher. On the other hand, website personalization was evaluated as more important for click-and-mortar banks and had a stronger impact on online trust. Practical implications To promote the trustworthiness of their websites and retain customers, internet-only banks should make the experience more tangible for users by developing a pleasant online experience. Personalization is an important variable that can enhance the consumer’s engagement with the brand. Click-and-mortar banks should enhance their interactivity by providing a continuous and consistent experience across different channels of distribution whether online or in-person and provide more interactive tools on their websites. Originality/value This study contributes significantly to the marketing research literature related to consumer trust as well as to the electronic banking literature. It is the first study to compare customers of click-and-mortar banks with customers of internet-only banks when evaluating website features. It also explores the impact of the e-bank model on the relationship between website features and online trust and customer loyalty.

This paper describes squaring and square-rooting circuits operable on low voltage supplies, with their application proposed hereby as vector-summation and four-quadrant multiplier circuits. These circuits make use of a flipped voltage follower (FVF) as fundamental circuit. A detail classification of basic topologies derived from the FVF is given. The proposed circuits have simple structure, wide input range and low power consumption as well as small number of devices. All circuits are also examined and supported by a set of simulations with PSpice program. The circuits can operate at power supply of ±0.7 volts, the input voltage range of the squaring circuit is ±0.8 volts with 1.59% relative error and 1.78 μW power dispersion, the input current of the square-rooting circuit is about 50 μA with 0.55% relative error and 1.4 μW power dispersion and the vector-summation circuit have linearity error of 0.23% and 2.92 μW power dispersion. As in four-quadrant multiplier circuit, the total harmonic distortion of the multiplier is less than 1.2% for 0.8 VP-P input signal at 1 MHz fundamental frequency. Experimental result is carried out to confirm the operation by using commercial CMOS transistor arrays (CD4007). These circuits are highly expected to be effective in further application of the low voltage analog signal processing.
