In achieving one of Brunei Vision 2035, which is to be among the top 10 in the world for quality of life, Ministry of Health (MOH) Brunei Darussalam has responded by implementing Brunei Healthcare Information and Management System (Bru-HIMS) that is equivalent to international best practices. Bru-HIMS has been implemented for about eight years since it first launched on 11 September 2012 where the outcome to user experience is unknown. Hence, this chapter investigates user satisfaction on Bru-HIMS specifically at RIPAS hospital and studies improvement towards providing quality healthcare in Brunei. DeLone and McLean Information System framework is applied to evaluate Bru-HIMS user satisfaction based on the six variables: information quality, system quality, service quality, intention to use and usage, perceived net benefits, and user satisfaction. Questionnaire survey was conducted to obtain primary data from Bru-HIMS. The findings demonstrate positive relationships between the six variables, which indicates Bru-HIMS has positively influenced Bru-HIMS users.

This study aimed at analyzing the effect of system quality, information quality, and service quality to the implementation of e-Filing tax system on net benefits with user satisfaction as an intervening variable at the Pratama Palembang Ilir Barat Tax Service Office (TSO). This research was a quantitative study with survey approach through distributing questionnaires to 350 respondents as samples. To analyze the data, Covariance Base Structure Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) was used. The results indicated that the quality of systems, information and service positively and significantly affected the user satisfaction with the percentage of 16%, 20%, and 26%, respectively. Likewise, the e-Filing user satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on the net benefits with the percentage of 64%. The results of this study recommend that, despite its being mandatory, the implementation of e-Filing system could provide satisfaction to the users. This indicated that the system is currently as expected; not only due to its being mandatory, but the users satisfaction also contributed to the system’s sustainability. The output of the services provided in the form of taxpayer compliance, however, has not shown optimal results. Thus, a continuous reformation of the system, information, and service quality is hoped to be conducted.

SISKEUDES is a financial system used by the village government aimed at improving accountability, creating common perceptions in the delivery and application of various laws and regulations in the form of village financial management systems and procedures. Implementation of SISKEUDES helps us improve good corporate governance of village government in Indonesia. However, in the Village Assistance Report in Badung Regency in 2018 and 2019, there were input errors from planning, budgeting, administration and financial reporting. Based on this phenomenon, this study tested the predictor of successful application of the system. The measurement of SISKEUDES success is based on DeLone and McLean information system success model. This study examines the direct effect of system quality, information quality, service quality and quality of human resource on use, user satisfaction and net benefits. The sample determination technique uses purposive sampling with criteria of all SISKEUDES users in Badung Regency Village Government with a minimum of 1 year working experience. Data analysis uses Partial Least Square with SmartPLS 3. The results show that only system quality, information quality, and service quality have positive effects on user satisfaction, while the quality of human resources has no effect on user satisfaction. The quality of information, the quality of service, and the quality of human resources have positive effects on the use, while the quality of the system has no effect on the use. The quality of information, service quality, use and user satisfaction have positive effects on net benefits.

Education is seldom “free” for anyone who participates in it. It requires people to give time, effort, or money in exchange for the possibility of increased knowledge and competence. Educators devote resources to presentations, syllabi, textbooks, websites, videos, and other presentations. Every one of these products takes time and effort to prepare. Students also face costs. Education can require a student to sacrifice alternative opportunities, such as spending time with loved ones and engaging in recreational activities. Are these costs worth paying? When costs are a concern, educators gain incentives to provide information that produces positive net benefits. Once we contemplate net benefits and to whom they accrue, the concept of paying too much for an educational outcome becomes a significant concern. If prospective learners believe that an educator is going to ask them to learn information that is of no value to them, they are likely to view the situation as one that imposes time and energy costs in exchange for no tangible benefit. When made such offers, prospective learners tend to opt out. So providing too much (or the wrong) information can be costly, and by reducing others’ willingness to participate, it can cause otherwise promising educational endeavors to fail. In situations when providing information is a way to increase a beneficial competence, another related question arises: Who should pay? Answering this question can be difficult. To see how, suppose that we have identified information that is necessary for a particular audience to increase a valuable competence. Suppose, however, that most of the benefits of this increased competence accrue to someone other than the members of that audience. Such situations are not uncommon in politics. In politics, one group’s actions often affect others. For example, suppose that childless voters in a local school board election will cast the decisive votes on a matter that affects the quality of life for other people’s children. Suppose that it is costly for the childless voters to learn what they need to know in order to make the best choice for the children. Suppose, moreover, that our competence criterion places great weight on the children’s well-being.

Extrafloral nectar (EFN) is a plant secretion known to mediate interactions between insects and plants. Here we present the ecological characterization of the EFN of Cedrela odorata, in terms of sugar composition, as well as its importance in attracting ant visitors to extrafloral nectaries. We also studied the influence of different plant water conditions on the quality of EFN. We found site (forest, agroecosystem, plantation) and season (i.e., rainy, dry) effects for both water balance and the quality of EFN. Our results show that (i) water has a significant influence on EFN quality and (ii) environmental disturbance that differed at each site was associated with differences in loss of water through transpiration. Season also affected the levels of dissolved sugars in EFN. This had a direct, site-dependent impact on the abundance of ants foraging on EFN. Only at the most disturbed site (where higher damage by shoot borer occurred) was the abundance of ants foraging on EFN higher during the rainy season, when herbivore pressure increased. This pattern was consistent with an induced biotic defense strategy in C. odorata.
