This article discusses the problem of imagination as a holistic phenomenon of cognition based on the concept of corporeality of mind. Imagination becomes an instrument for enactive subject – object interaction. They complement and revive each other in the activity of cognition and self-cognition. Imagination is a generative model of cyclical interaction between the subject and object in junction of the image and action. Imagination is a moment of visual culture, a means of shaping thoughts and feelings in the optical coherence of mental actions in the reproduction of the picture, scenic manifestations of the material in mental life of a person, interpretation of the imagery-symbolic language and action. Imagination creates the space of the game of feelings, mind, and body in the context of cognitive engagement of a person. The most vivid manifestation as a phenomenon of cognition imagination acquires in the practice of psychoanalysis. The scientific novelty of this work consists in the following statement: psychoanalytic description interprets imagination in realization of the image through body and mind. The article employs the method of enactive construction of knowledge, visualization and psychoanalytic description, which demonstrates imagination as an integrative dimension of a human, optically harmonizes body, thought, and external environment of a person. The article underlines the role of metaphors, transformation, and paradoxicality, which indicate the degree of depiction of the image through integration of the corporeal, social and imaginable in a circular, cyclical dependence. Imagination creates the syntheses of these dimensions in a “paradoxical system”, translation of the fiction into symbolic language, and symbolic substantiations of the living experience of a cognizing being. Imagination is the organic development of human nature. The interactant appears to be an external environment and part of the human organization that creates him through the living experience of cognition and self-cognition.

AbstractThis article presents the application of the systemic problem structuring approach Viable System Diagnosis (VSD) within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery in a large hospital in Norway. It explains why systemic thinking is relevant to this uniquely complex form of human organization. The department was coping with systemic dysfunction and VSD was chosen because previous applications demonstrated VSD excels at diagnosis of what is causing dysfunction. VSD was employed through a participatory framework that included in the process, among other stakeholders, medics, technologists, managers, administrators and, as far as possible given the sensitive nature of patient information, the patient. VSD guided thinking about what the organization is set up to do and the existing organizational arrangements to achieve that. The outcome was an agenda for debate that guided stakeholder discussions toward ways and means of improving organizational arrangements. The article briefly reviews previous applications of VSD in the hospital sector and other large complex organisations.

AbstractScarcity sharpens the conflict between short term gains and long term sustainability. Psychological research documents that decision makers focus on immediate needs under scarcity and use available resources more effectively. However, decision makers also borrow too much from future resources and overall performance decreases as a consequence. Using an online experiment, we study how scarcity affects borrowing decisions in groups. We first document that scarcity affects groups in a similar way as individuals. Then, we go on to show that the negative effect of scarcity is weaker for groups than for individuals. Even in a minimal design that excludes direct interaction or communication, the fact that participants know that their own behavior affects and can be partly observed by another participant disciplines their use of scarce resources. Our results thus highlight the benefit of groups as units of human organization.

A CDSS generates a high number of inappropriate alerts that interrupt the clinical workflow. As a result, clinicians silence, disable, or ignore alerts, thereby undermining patient safety. Therefore, the effectiveness and appropriateness of CDSS alerts need to be evaluated. A systematic review was carried out to identify the factors that affect CDSS alert appropriateness in supporting clinical workflow. Seven electronic databases (PubMed, Scopus, ACM, Science Direct, IEEE, Ovid Medline, and Ebscohost) were searched for English language articles published between 1997 and 2018. Seventy six papers met the inclusion criteria, of which 26, 24, 15, and 11 papers are retrospective cohort, qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method studies, respectively. The review highlights various factors influencing the appropriateness and efficiencies of CDSS alerts. These factors are categorized into technology, human, organization, and process aspects using a combination of approaches, including socio-technical framework, five rights of CDSS, and Lean. Most CDSS alerts were not properly designed based on human factor methods and principles, explaining high alert overrides in clinical practices. The identified factors and recommendations from the review may offer valuable insights into how CDSS alerts can be designed appropriately to support clinical workflow.

Part II explained why human organization based on technology should be confronted. It claimed that technology is an inherent part of the undesired, destructive, and unequal socio-economic arrangements that contribute to self-seeking behaviour, alienation, inequality, and environmental degradation. Chapters 5 and 6 focused especially on the negative social dynamics regarding technology and its development, while ...

Background: Hospital is a health care institution that provides public services for patients. It needs computerized information technology, for example, a hospital information management system.Aims: This study was aimed at analyzing the implementation of hospital management information system using the human organization fit model at the Outpatient Department of Sabang General Hospital. Methods: This study was conducted from March-June 2020 using a cross sectional design. The study’s population was the hospital managers, administration staff and health workers at the hospital. The study’s sample size was 106 respondents selected using a purposive sampling. This study used a quantitative design in which the data analysis was done using a spearman correlation test with P-value of =<0.05. The independent variables were the quality of system, quality of information, and quality of care. While the dependent variables included system user, user satisfaction and organization. The data were collected through questionnaire distributed to the respondents. Results: The quality of system did not have a relationship with the system user (P=0.585), user satisfaction (P=0.541), and organization (P=0.256). The quality of information had a relationship with the  system user(P=0.004) and user satisfaction (P=0.000), but it did not have a relationship with organization (P=0.132). The quality of care had a relationship with the system user(P=0.000), user satisfaction (P=0.000) and organization (P=0.000).Conclusion: The Sabang General Hospital, Aceh, needs to improve the hospital management information system with the HOT-fit model, especially the quality of system. They can conduct training for users and provide applicable and attractive manuals. Keywords: hospital, information management system, quality of care, quality of information, quality of system.
