A total of 383 alien insect species were registered in the Czech Republic, which represents 1.4% of local fauna. The most numerous taxonomic groups are Homoptera (116 species, 30.3%), Coleoptera (110; 28.7%) and Lepidoptera (37; 9.7%). The occurrence of 200 species (52.2%) are limited to closed heated spaces, casual aliens (28; 7.3%) infiltrate the outdoor environment for a short term only, 36 (9.4%) naturalized non-invasive species do not spread from the location of introduction, 50 (13.1%) species are post-invasive and 69 (18.0%) invasive. From the species registered, 61 (15.9%) are stored product pests (especially Coleoptera 36 species, Psocoptera 11, and Lepidoptera 9), 50 (13.1%) are plant pests indoors (especially Coccinea 33 species, Aphidinea 7, and Thysanoptera 6), 25 (i.e. 6.5% of aliens) are pests in agriculture, forestry, and in ornamental cultures, 15 species (3.9%) are important animal parasites, and 5 species (1.3%) can affect biodiversity. Of the remaining 227 species (59.3%), no economic or ecological effects were found. The origin of most of the species living eusynanthropically is in the tropics and subtropics; of the 155 naturalized (non-invasive, post-invasive, and invasive) species, 42 (27.1%) originate from the Mediterranean, 36 (23.2%) from North America, 28 (18.1%) from Central to Southwest Asia, 14 (9.0%) from East Asia, 13 (8.4%) from South and Southeast Asia, with the remaining 22 species (14.2%) coming from other areas.

In the autumn of 2006 and summer 2007 the coreid species <I>Leptoglossus occidentalis</I> Heidemann, 1910 was detected in the Czech Republic for the first time as a new alien insect species. It is native to North America, where it causes important seed losses on coniferous trees, especially pines. From Europe it is known since the end of the last century, when it was introduced to Italy. Its repeated finding could indicate a vital population of this species in the Czech Republic, not only introduced individuals.

The catalogue of alien animal species registered in the Czech Republic, with data on their origin, date on the first observation, way of introduction (accidental, deliberate, spontaneous), invasive status (casual, non-invasive, post-invasive, invasive), habitat (eusynanthropic, urban, agricultural, natural), trophic requirements and possible influences (plant or stored-product pest, biodiversity influence). In total 595 species are listed, i.e. 1.8% of the fauna of this country; of these, 22 species of molluscs (8.8% of the local fauna), 451 spp. of arthropods (1.5%), 383 spp. of insects (1.4%), and 55 spp. of vertebrates (9.2%). Among the registered species, 248 spp. (41.8%) are confined to closed and heated spaces by their occurrence, and 287 spp. have become naturalized (48.2%). Of these 113 spp. are considered invasive (19% of alien spp.). 65 spp. (10.9% of aliens) are pests of stored products, 84 spp. (14.1%) are parasites of important animals, 53 spp. (8.9%) are pests of plants grown in heated rooms (above all, glasshouses), 28 ssp. (4.7%) are agricultural or forest pests, and 39 spp. (6.6%) may influence local biodiversity. The origin of the naturalized alien species is mostly in North America (70; 24.4%), the Mediterranean (61; 21.3%), E Asia (44; 15.4%), Central and SW Asia (43; 15%), and S or SE Asia (30; 10.5%).

In summer and autumn of 2004 the cicadellid leafhopper species Graphocephala fennahi was detected in the Czech Republic for the first time as a new alien insect species feeding on Rhododendron. The species is native to North America and was introduced in the 1930’s to Great Britain and in the 1970’s to continental Europe, where its invasion and relationship to the rhododendron bud blast disease have been studied in detail. At present, the Czech populations of G. fennahi appear to be restricted to the Prague city area and near surroundings, but further spread of G. fennahi can be expected.

Analysis of synanthropic vegetation in the territory of the city of Ostrava This paper is a result of the field research of synanthropic vegetation in the territory of the city of Ostrava in the summer of 2010 (June - August) and in the spring of 2011 (April). A total of 213 reléves were carried out in three types of habitats (borders of fields, ruderal areas and railway tracks). The reléves were transferred to the ‘Turboveg’ database computer programme and analyzed using the Expert system of vegetation of the Czech Republic (the ‘Coctail’ method) in the ‘Juice’ computer programme. This paper contains the evaluation of the occurrence of plant species in particular habitats and of the types of their synanthropy with special regard to endangered and invasive species. A total of 201 species of vascular plants were found, among them 134 apophytes. A total of 4 endangered species and 8 invasive species were found. A total of 5 classes, 15 alliances and 25 associations were found using the analysis of vegetation in the ‘Juice’ computer programme. Only 5 associations occurred in all studied types of habitats. The most common association was Convolvulo arvensis-Elytrigietum repentis.

I conducted a survey of aculeate Hymenoptera in urban and suburban gardens of Brno-city in August 2015. For my survey, I selected three individual gardens, and in each of them chose three type of microhabitats: tree, grass and patch. I used yellow pan traps for taxon sampling. Using this method, I recorded 382 specimens belonging to 76 species. Subsequently, the basic indices of species diversity in individual gardens were calculated, and statistical analyses of individual gardens and various microhabitats were created. I report large differences between the Aculeata taxa found in urban and suburban gardens. Habitat preferences of species between microhabitats were discovered as well. Furthermore, I report 14 species mentioned in the Red List of threatened species of the Czech Republic (Straka 2005a,b) (hereinafter referred to as Red List); as well as one invasive species Isodontia mexicana (Saussure, 1867) and one species Pison atrum Spinola, 1808 recently reported as new for the Czech Republic (reported after the publication of the Red List itself).

This publication makes a faunistic contribution to knowledge of the epigeic spider species composition in the limestone quarry Malá Dohoda which is located in Moravian Karst PLA. The spiders were collected by pitfall trapping between catching period 19. 3.–1. 11. 2012. We chose 6 plots all around the quarry – in the inner part, edges of quarry and outside part of quarry. A total of 1 474 adult specimens were collected and determined as 78 species of 21 families. The most significant finding is vulnerable species (VU) Parapelecopsis nemoralis (Blackwall, 1841) which is the second record for Moravia. Among the other significant findings, both in term of rarity and bioindication, were Ceratinella major Kulczynski, 1894, Micaria formicaria (Sundevall, 1831), Ozyptila claveata (Walckenaer, 1837), Pelecopsis parallela (Wider, 1834), Zelotes longipes (L. Koch, 1866) and Zodarion rubidum Simon, 1914. Also, we present finding of an invasive species Mermessus trilobatus (Emerton, 1882) which is spreading in the Czech Republic since 2007. Together, we found 13 species as a novelty for studied faunistic square 6666 and we extended knowledge about new recorded species for the area of the Moravian Karst.

Between July and September 2012, seventeen larvae of the invasive mosquito species Aedes (Stegomyia) albopictus (Skuse) were discovered using 60 ovitraps at four study sites alongside two main road exits in South Moravia, Czech Republic. This is the first report of imported Ae. albopictus in the Czech Republic. The findings highlight the need for a regular surveillance programme to monitor this invasive species throughout western and central Europe.

The paper defined saturation of an insert product placement as a part of marketing communication. Product placement is known as a modern tool of marketing communication and so that product placement and its types and forms are not so casual used in the Czech Republic as in other parts of the world. The mentioned issues are explained from the perspectives of three groups: TV studios experts, directors and producers and other experts (media agencies and advertisers). Types and forms of this marketing communication tool as well as options of its utilization are also mentioned in the paper.The Czech Republic market where product placement occurs is very small - only few television companies. The primary aim of the paper is to identify the intensity of two essential areas expressing product placement using - natural (non-invasive) insert and contrived (invasive) insert. Moreover, conflicting interests of the interested parties (advertiser - ordering party, producer and television) are observed in the paper too. The last issue discussed in this paper is to what extent the degree of product placement implementation can affect the script and what impact on quality and specifics of an audiovisual work can this script modification have.

Overview Introduction: During the 30th symposium of assisted reproduction held on November 11, 2020 in Brno, the solved problems in reproductive medicine in the Czech Republic in 2020 were presented. The selected topics have concerned not only current issues in the field of clinical embryology and genetics as well as gynecology, but also legislation and ethics. Discussed topics: 1. How much time does the doctor have in the CAR (centrum of assisted reproduction) outpatient clinic per patient and how does the embryologist communicate with clients? 2. Reproduction and PGT-M in oncology patients and patients at risk with hereditary oncogenic mutations. 3. Non-invasive genetic testing of embryos from culture medium. 4. Genome editing. 5. What is the need to monitor hormonal levels in stimulation protocols? 6. Monitoring and embryo selection for transfer/kryo. 7. Is it time to change the law on donor remuneration? Methods: The topics were prepared in advance by authorized members of our company with the task of elaborating theses, which they presented in a separate conference block. The presentation and the discussion were broadcast directly from the broadcast studio at Hotel International via an online connection. After the conference, all discussion topics and comments were incorporated. Conclusion: The work presents the state of the solved problems of reproductive medicine in the Czech Republic.
