ABSTRACT Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is a Gram-negative aerobic bacterium and emerging nosocomial pathogen. Here, we present a draft genome sequence for an S. maltophilia strain assembled from a metagenomic DNA extract isolated from a laboratory stock of the nematode worm Caenorhabditis remanei.

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is a nosocomial pathogen that primarily causes respiratory infection in humans. This pathogen is widely distributed in the environment, including in foods. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of S. maltophilia strain CRB139-1, isolated from poultry meat in Japan. The genome size was 4,619,918 bp at 90× coverage.

We report the genome sequence of a polyethylene-degrading bacterial strain identified as Stenotrophomonas maltophilia strain PE591, which was isolated from plastic debris found in savanna soil. The genome was assembled in 16 scaffolds with a length of 4,751,236 bp, a GC content of 66.5%, and 4,432 predicted genes.

ABSTRACTIn recent years,Staphylococcus epidermidishas become a major nosocomial pathogen and the most common cause of intravascular catheter-related bacteremia, which can increase morbidity and mortality and significantly affect patient recovery. We report a draft genome sequence ofStaphylococcus epidermidisAU12-03, isolated from an intravascular catheter tip.

ABSTRACT Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a Gram-negative nosocomial pathogen that is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in cystic fibrosis patients and immunocompromised individuals worldwide. The isolate examined in this study, PA14-UM, is a well-characterized isolate utilized in studies from the University of Maryland.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia MDMC339, a strain able to survive in the difficult conditions imposed by the Merzouga desert. The analyzed genome contains 4,788,525 bp with 4,262 genes coding for proteins, including several genes related to stress.
