ABSTRACT We present the high-quality draft genome of Methanobacterium subterraneum DF, a hydrogenotrophic methanogen that was isolated from deer feces. This organism has potentially been overlooked in previous studies. Interestingly, its genome encoded bile salt hydrolase, a crucial enzyme for bile salt tolerance that is found in gut organisms.

ABSTRACT Actinomyces sp. strain Chiba101, isolated from an arthritic leg joint of a pig raised in Japan, is a bacterium closely related to Actinomyces denticolens. Here, we deciphered the complete genome sequence of Actinomyces sp. Chiba101 and the high-quality draft genome sequence of A. denticolens DSM 20671T.

Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Xanthomonas arboricola pv. juglandis CPBF 1521, isolated from symptomatic leaves of an ornamental walnut in a public site in Portugal without any record of phytosanitary treatment.

Rummeliibacillus sp. strain TYF005 is a thermophilic bacterium with high ethanol (8% vol/vol) and salt (13% wt/vol) tolerance that was isolated from spoilage vinegar. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of this strain, which has 117 scaffolds with a total genome size of 3.7 Mb and a 34.4% GC content.

ABSTRACT Burkholderia contaminans strain CH-1 converts 2-azahypoxnathine to 2-aza-8-oxohypoxanthine, plant growth-regulating compounds, by oxidation. We report here the high-quality draft genome sequence of B. contaminans CH-1. The genome contains 8,065 protein-coding sequences, including several genes possibly involved in metabolizing 2-azahypoxanthine.

The basidiomycete Sporisorium graminicola (formally Pseudozyma graminicola) strain CBS10092 was originally isolated from an herbaceous plant in Russia. It is a known producer of mannosylerythritol lipids (MELs), the main component being MEL-C. Here, we present the 19.9-Mb draft genome sequence, which comprises 6,602 genes, including those encoding the MEL biosynthetic pathway.

ABSTRACT A thermophilic methanogen was enriched in coculture from Washburn Hot Springs (Yellowstone National Park, USA), grown on carbon dioxide and hydrogen, and subsequently sequenced. The reconstructed 1.65-Mb genome sequence for Methanothermobacter thermautotrophicus WHS contributes to our understanding of hydrogenotrophic, CO2-reducing methanogenesis in geothermal ecosystems.

Using Illumina and Nanopore reads, we assembled a high-quality draft genome sequence of Allorhizobium vitis K309T (= ATCC 49767T, = NCPPB 3554T), a phytopathogenic strain isolated from a grapevine in Australia. The hybrid approach generated 50% fewer contigs and a 3-fold increase in the N 50 value compared with the previous Illumina-only assembly.

We present the high-quality draft genome sequence of Bacillus subtilis SB-14, isolated from the Namibian social spider Stegodyphus dumicola. In accordance with its antimicrobial activity, both known and potentially novel antimicrobial biosynthetic gene clusters were identified in the genome of SB-14.

ABSTRACT We report here a high-quality draft genome sequence of Terrimicrobium sacchariphilum strain NM-5T, a facultative anaerobic, mesophilic, fermentative bacterium belonging to the class Spartobacteria of the phylum Verrucomicrobia. The genome comprises 4,751,807 bp in three contigs and has a G+C content of 60.19%. Annotation predicted 4,175 protein-coding sequences and 54 RNAs.

A pink-pigmented facultative methylotroph, Methylorubrum populi Pinkel, was isolated from compost by selective enrichment with caffeine (3,5,7-trimethylxanthine) as the sole carbon, nitrogen, and energy source. We report here its high-quality draft genome sequence, assembled in 35 contigs totaling 5,630,907 bp. We identified 5,681 protein-coding sequences, including those putatively involved in caffeine degradation.
