Azoarcus sp. strain DD4 can cometabolically degrade 1,4-dioxane and 1,1-dichloroethylene (1,1-DCE) when grown with propane and other substrates. The complete genome sequence of strain DD4 reveals a diverse collection of bacterial monooxygenase genes that may contribute to its versatility in degrading commingled groundwater pollutants.

ABSTRACT Helicobacter pylori is a gram-negative pathogen that colonizes the stomachs of over half the world's population and causes a spectrum of gastric diseases including gastritis, ulcers, and gastric carcinoma. The H. pylori species exhibits unusually high levels of genetic variation between strains. Here we announce the complete genome sequence of H. pylori strain G27, which has been used extensively in H. pylori research.

Acinetobacter baumannii is a Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen that is frequently associated with nosocomial infections. Bacteriophages infecting A. baumannii can be used as effective agents to control these infections. Here, we announce the complete genome sequence of the lytic bacteriophage LZ35 infecting A. baumannii isolates.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative bacterium that is a major cause of nosocomial infections worldwide. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of TK421, a clinical bacteremia isolate containing a hypervirulence plasmid carrying tra-associated conjugation machinery genes. Emergence of conjugative hypervirulence plasmids could portend rapid dissemination of hypervirulence among multidrug-resistant K. pneumoniae strains.

Klebsiella pneumoniaeis a Gram-negative pathogen frequently associated with antibiotic-resistant nosocomial infections. Bacteriophage therapy againstK. pneumoniaemay be possible to combat these infections. The following describes the complete genome sequence and key features of the pseudo-T-evenK. pneumoniaecarbapenemase (KPC)-producingK. pneumoniaemyophage Miro.

Aminobacter aminovorans is a Gram-negative, pleomorphic rod-shaped, flagellated, and obligately aerobic bacterium that was isolated from soil. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of A. aminovorans KCTC 2477 T , which degrades nitrilotriacetate-metal complexes and iminodiacetate, a metabolic intermediate of nitrilotriacetate.

ABSTRACT Rhizobium japonicum is a Gram-negative bacterium of interest for research into nitrogen fixation in legumes. This article describes the isolation, sequencing, and annotation of R. japonicum podophage Pasto. While it shows no significant similarity to identified phages, genomic analysis indicates that Pasto may be temperate and is a novel T7-like podophage.
