We report the complete genome sequence of Mucilaginibacter strain 21P, which was isolated from estuarine soil contaminated with mine tailings from the Samarco disaster, which occurred in 2015 in Brazil. The genome sequence comprised 4,739,655 bp, with a G+C content of 43.2%, and harbors multiple antibiotic and metal resistance genes.

ABSTRACT We report the closed and annotated genome sequence of Sulfuriferula sp. strain AH1. Strain AH1 has a 2,877,007-bp chromosome that includes a partial Sox system for inorganic sulfur oxidation and a complete nitrogen fixation pathway. It also has a single 39,138-bp plasmid with genes for arsenic and mercury resistance.

ABSTRACT Enterobacter cloacae is an important nosocomial pathogen. Here, we report the completion of the genome sequence of E. cloacae ATCC 13047, the type strain of E. cloacae subsp. cloacae. Multiple sets of virulence determinant and heavy-metal resistance genes have been found in the genome. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first complete genome sequence of the E. cloacae species.

Raoultella planticola is a Gram-negative opportunistic bacterial pathogen associated with hospital-acquired infections in humans. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of one Raoultella planticola strain isolated from Canadian wastewater treatment facilities containing one chromosome and four plasmids with four antimicrobial resistance (AMR) genes and four metal resistance gene clusters.

Enterobacter cloacae strain R11 is a multidrug-resistant bacterium isolated from sewage water near a swine feedlot in China. Strain R11 can survive in medium containing up to 192 μg/mL polymyxin E, indicating a tolerance for this antibiotic that is significantly higher than that reported for other gram-negative bacteria. In this study, conjugation experiments showed that partial polymyxin E resistance could be transferred from strain R11 to Escherichia coli strain 25922, revealing that some genes related to polymyxin E resistance are plasmid-based. The complete genome sequence of this strain was determined, yielding a total of 4 993 008 bp (G+C content, 53.15%) and 4908 genes for the circular chromosome and 4 circular plasmids. Genome analysis revealed a total of 73 putative antibiotic resistance genes, including several polymyxin E resistance genes and genes potentially involved in multidrug resistance. These data provide insights into the genetic basis of the polymyxin E resistance and multidrug resistance of E. cloacae.

ABSTRACT We report here an update to the draft genome sequence of Kluyvera intestini sp. nov. strain GT-16, generated using MinION long-read sequencing technology. The complete genome sequence of the human-derived strain GT-16 measured 5,768,848 bp. An improved high-quality complete genome sequence provides insights into the mobility potential of resistance genes in this species.

We present the complete genome sequence of fluoranthene-consuming Cycloclasticus sp. strain PY97N. This strain has one circular chromosome with a G+C content of 42.06%. Moreover, two genomic islands were identified as putative conjugative elements. These genomic details are expected to inform our understanding of the remarkable catabolic capacities of organisms of the Cycloclasticus lineage.
