The draft genome sequence of Janthinobacterium sp. strain SLB01, a violacein-producing psychrotolerant bacterium isolated from the diseased sponge Lubomirskia baicalensis, was determined. We identified five genes encoding VioA, VioB, VioC, VioD, and VioE proteins related to violacein biosynthesis that were like those identified in published Janthinobacterium lividum strains MTR and RIT308.

Proteus mirabilis CKTH01 is a pathogenic bacterium isolated from raw chicken meat. The genome sequence of P. mirabilis CKTH01 contains genes encoding multidrug efflux pumps, which are the virulence factors of the antibiotic-resistant bacterium. This 3.98-Mb draft genome sequence of P. mirabilis CKTH01 will contribute to the understanding of the distribution of multidrug-resistant P. mirabilis in raw chicken meat at the open markets.

We report the draft genome sequence of Variovorax boronicumulans strain HAB-30, which was isolated from a phenol-degrading chemostat culture. This strain contains genes encoding a multicomponent type of phenol hydroxylase, with degradation pathways for catechol and other aromatic compounds. The genome sequence will be useful for understanding the metabolic pathways involved in phenol degradation.

The aerobic, Gram-positive, psychrotolerant bacterium Kurthia sibirica was first isolated from the stomach and intestinal contents of the Magadan mammoth recovered from the permafrost in eastern Siberia in 1977. K. sibirica was sequenced, and the predicted genome size is 3,496,665 bp, with 36.42% G+C content.

We present a draft genome sequence of Janthinobacterium lividum strain ID1246, isolated from within a rainbow trout hatchery raceway. Janthinobacterium spp. are well-known producers of antimicrobial compounds. Due to the unique isolation source, this genome may yield novel biosynthetic gene clusters.

ABSTRACTWe present the genome sequence ofKomagataeibacter maltacetiLMG 1529T, which is a vinegar-producing acetic acid bacterium. The draft genome sequence consists of 3.6 Mb and contains 3,225 predicted protein-encoding genes. In addition, 53 genes encoding potential oxidoreductases were identified.

We report the first draft genome sequence of an acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND)-causing Vibrio parahaemolyticus strain isolated from a Penaeus vannamei sample from the Philippines. The strain carries the genes encoding the Pir-like toxin pair PirAvp and PirBvp.

ABSTRACT Vibrio harveyi is a Gram-negative bacterium associated with vibriosis in penaeid shrimp. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a V. harveyi strain isolated from Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) during a vibriosis outbreak. The availability of this genome will aid future studies of vibriosis in shrimp aquaculture.
