Four wild-type Campylobacter jejuni strains isolated from the cecal contents of broiler chickens were sequenced. The average genome size was 1,622,170 bp, with 1,667 to 1,761 coding sequences and 47 to 51 RNAs. Multiple genes encoding motility, intestinal colonization, toxin production, stress tolerance, and multidrug resistance were present in all the strains.

ABSTRACT Enterobacter cloacae is a common member of the gut microbiota in healthy individuals. However, it is also an opportunistic pathogen, capable of causing bacteremia. We report the draft genomes of two Enterobacter cloacae subspecies cloacae strains isolated from hematology patients with bacteremia. Both isolates carry genes encoding extended-spectrum β-lactamases.

ABSTRACT Campylobacter jejuni is the pathogen most commonly associated with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). The present work describes the draft genome sequences of 3 C. jejuni strains, BD39, BD67, and BD75, isolated from stool specimens of patients with C. jejuni-triggered GBS using Illumina technologies.

Campylobacter jejuni is a major foodborne pathogen that plays an important role in spreading drug resistance. We report the draft genome sequences of two multidrug-resistant C. jejuni isolates which contained similar mutations in the CmeR box. This will improve the understanding of C. jejuni antimicrobial resistance and genetic characteristics.

Verticillium nonalfalfae, a soilborne vascular fungus, shows promise for biocontrol of highly invasive Ailanthus altissima strains. This announcement provides draft genome sequences of the aggressive isolate G1/5 (wild-type strain), the highly aggressive isolate Vert56 (improved strain), and the mildly aggressive isolate I3/2, all obtained from symptomatic A. altissima trees in Austria.

Thirteen Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates cultured from feces, intestines, liver, lungs, and blood from immunocompromised NOD-scid gamma (NSG) mice with clinical illness, housed at a biomedical research institute, were sequenced using Illumina MiSeq technology for elucidation of pathogenic potential and genes encoding antibiotic resistance.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequences of Campylobacter jejuni CAM970 and C. coli CAM962, which were associated with a large outbreak of foodborne illness originating from undercooked chicken sushi in Fukuoka, Japan, in May 2016. Their genome sizes were 1,690,901 and 1,704,736 bp, with 22 and 23 rRNAs, 9 and 9 tRNAs, and 411× and 419× coverage for C. jejuni CAM970 and C. coli CAM962, respectively.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequences of robust (A74/C_24-3) and poor (A74/O_2-2) chicken-colonizing Campylobacter jejuni isolates. Whole-genome sequence analyses of these isolates will be helpful in facilitating further studies to identify genetic factors used in chicken colonization.

The draft genome sequences of 16 Campylobacter jejuni isolates obtained from wild birds are presented in this study. These genomes provide insights into the genetic features of C. jejuni isolates from wild birds, which are considered common hosts of this microorganism but have scarcely been investigated to date.

ABSTRACT Campylobacter jejuni is a major zoonotic pathogen that causes foodborne gastroenteritis worldwide. However, clinical cases of campylobacteriosis have been underreported and underdiagnosed in Brazil. Herein, we describe the draft genome sequences of 116 C. jejuni strains isolated from diverse sources in Brazil.

Here, we report 12 draft genome sequences of mutant Mycolicibacterium smegmatis strains resistant to imidazo[1,2-b][1,2,4,5]tetrazines, which are antituberculosis drug candidates. We have identified 7 different mutations in the MSMEG_1380 gene, which encodes the AcrR/TetR_N transcriptional repressor, which may activate efflux-mediated resistance.
