To study the relationship between the CT image characteristics of inflammatory infection in patients with blood tumor and expression of serum cytokines in patients, and provide a theoretical basis for the application of CT imaging in the diagnosis of inflammation in clinical hematologic tumor patients in the future, 110 patients with inflammatory infection of blood tumor admitted to the hospital from October 30, 2017 to December 30, 2019 were selected as experimental group (EG), and 80 patients without infection in the general blood tumor department were selected as control group (CG). CT imaging was performed on both groups of patients, and two senior doctors read the imaging features and recorded the infection. At the same time, with flow cytometry, levels of IL2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IFN-γ, and TNF-α in serum were detected. Cytokines levels and CT diagnosis results were analyzed by the working characteristic curve of the subjects. Kappa was used to test the consistency of the two physicians, and Spearman correlation was used to analyze the correlation between cytokines and CT diagnosis results. The results demonstrated that IL-6 level, IL-10 level, and TNF-α level in EG were obviously higher than those in CG (P < 0.05), and there was no obvious difference in levels of IL-2, IL-4, and IFN-γ (P > 0.05). The consistency coefficient of kappa test was 0.82. In the EG, sensitivity (Se) and specificity (Spe) of IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α, and CT diagnosis were 53.5% and 76.8%, 53.5% and 80.8%, 53.5% and 72.0%, 86.7% and 72.8%, respectively. Area under curve (AUC) was 0.686, 0.747, 0.657 and 0.859. Spearman correlation analysis (SCA) indicated obvious positive correlation between CT diagnosis results and levels of serum cytokines IL-6, IL-10, and TNF-α in both groups (P < 0.05). The results showed that the levels of IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-α in patients with inflammatory infection were obviously higher than those in patients with common blood tumor. Se and AUC area of CT image diagnosis are the highest, which has a better diagnostic value in inflammatory infection of blood tumor patients. Moreover, it is obviously correlated with cytokines levels, including IL-6, IL-10, and TNF-α, in serum.

AbstractBackgroundWe have theorized that clots with stasis are longer. We therefore explored the relationship between thrombus imaging characteristics on noncontrast computed tomography (NCCT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with clot length and pial collaterals on baseline computed tomography angiography (CTA).MethodsProspective study of acute ischemic stroke patients (2005-2009) from Keimyung University. Patients with known stroke symptom onset time, baseline CTA, MRI, and with M1-Middle Cerebral Artery (MCA)±intracranial internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusions were included. Clot length and pial collaterals were measured on baseline CTA.ResultsA total of 104 patients (mean age 65.1±12.28 years, 56.7% male, median baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale 13) with intracranial ICA + MCA (n=50) or isolated M1-MCA (n=54) occlusions were included. Hyperdense sign on NCCT had a median clot length of 42.3 mm versus 29.5 mm when hyperdense negative (p=0.02). Clots showing blooming artifact on gradient recall echo MRI had a median length of 39.1 mm versus 24.5 mm without blooming (p=0.005). Patients with poor baseline collaterals on CTA had longer clots than those with intermediate/good collaterals (median clot length 49.4 mm vs 34.9 mm vs 20.5 mm respectively, p<0.001). In censored logistic regression modeling, clot length was an independent predictor of hyperdense sign (p=0.05) and of the presence of blooming artifact (p=0.006).ConclusionsClot length and baseline collateral status are independent predictors of clot hyperdensity on NCCT and blooming artifact on gradient recall echo. Longer clots are more likely to be hyperdense and to bloom more, probably because portions of these clots are freshly formed locally due to of stasis of blood around the original clot. This stasis could be because of poor collaterals and inefficient angio-architecture within the cerebral arterial tree.

This study aimed at elucidating the relationship between the number of computed tomography (CT) images, including data concerning the accuracy of models and contrast enhancement for classifying the images. We enrolled 1539 patients who underwent contrast or noncontrast CT imaging, followed by dividing the CT imaging dataset for creating classification models into 10 classes for brain, neck, chest, abdomen, and pelvis with contrast-enhanced and plain imaging. The number of images prepared in each class were 100, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000, and 10,000. Accordingly, the names of datasets were defined as 0.1K, 0.5K, 1K, 2K, 3K, 4K, 5K, 6K, 7K, 8K, 9K, and 10K, respectively. We subsequently created and evaluated the models and compared the convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture between AlexNet and GoogLeNet. The time required for training models of AlexNet was lesser than that for GoogLeNet. The best overall accuracy for the classification of 10 classes was 0.721 with the 10K dataset of GoogLeNet. Furthermore, the best overall accuracy for the classification of the slice position without contrast media was 0.862 with the 2K dataset of AlexNet.
