AbstractRecently, the so-called Hubble Tension, i.e. the mismatch between the local and the cosmological measurements of the Hubble parameter, has been resolved when non-particle dark matter is considered which has a negative equation of state parameter ($$\omega \approx -\,0.01$$ ω ≈ - 0.01 ). We investigate if such a candidate can successfully describe the galactic flat rotation curves. It is found that the flat rotation curve feature puts a stringent constraint on the dark matter equation of state parameter $$\omega $$ ω and $$\omega \approx -\,0.01$$ ω ≈ - 0.01 is not consistent with flat rotational curves, observed around the galaxies. However, a dynamic $$\omega $$ ω of non-particle dark matter may overcome the Hubble tension without affecting the flat rotation curve feature.

We consider the agegraphic models of dark energy in a braneworld scenario with brane–bulk energy exchange. We assume that the adiabatic equation for the dark matter is satisfied while it is violated for the agegraphic dark energy due to the energy exchange between the brane and the bulk. Our study shows that with the brane–bulk interaction, the equation of state parameter of agegraphic dark energy on the brane, wD, can have a transition from the normal state, where wD > -1, to the phantom regime, where wD < -1, while the effective equation of state for dark energy always satisfies [Formula: see text].

In this paper, we have studied and investigated the behavior of a modified holographic Ricci dark energy (DE) model interacting with pressureless dark matter (DM) under the theory of modified gravity, dubbed logarithmic f(T) gravity. We have chosen the interaction term between DE and DM in the form Q = 3γHρm and investigated the behavior of the torsion, T, the Hubble parameter, H, the equation of state parameter, ωDE, the energy density of DE, ρDE, and the energy density contribution due to torsion, ρT, as functions of the redshift, z. We have found that T increases with the redshift, z, H increases with the evolution of the universe, ωDE has a quintessence-like behavior, and both energy densities increase going from higher to lower redshifts.

A slightly different power law-scaling fits to the picture of our 13.7 billion years old flat universe which is expanding presently at 67 km/s/Mpc with an acceleration. The model which is an attempt to retain power-law scaling in the light of the accepted facts about the universe we are living in, has a constant effective equation of state parameter as the cosmic fluid is a solution of matter, radiation and dark energy. It is successful in explaining the acceleration of universe which the normal power law fails if the present Hubble parameter is 67 km/s/Mpc and age of the universe is 13.7 billion years, and it is free from the defect of singularity.

This paper is devoted to study the cosmological behavior of homogeneous and isotropic universe model in the context of f(R,Tφ) gravity, where φ is the scalar field. For this purpose, we follow the first-order formalism defined by H=W(φ). We evaluate Hubble parameter, effective equation of state parameter (ωeff), deceleration parameter, and potential of scalar field for three different values of W(φ). We obtain phantom era in some cases for the early times. It is found that exponential expression of W(φ) yields ωeff independent of time for flat universe and independent of model parameter otherwise. It is concluded that our model corresponds to ΛCDM for both initial and late times.

In this paper, we study a model which is composed of the cosmological constant and dark matter with nonzero equation of state parameter, which could be called as [Formula: see text]wDM. In the synchronous gauge, we obtain the perturbation equations of dark matter, and deduce the evolution equations of growth factor about the dark matter and baryons. Based on the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method, we constrain this model by the recently available cosmic observations which include cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation, baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO), type Ia supernovae (SNIa) and [Formula: see text] data points from redshift-space distortion (RSD). The results present a tighter constraint on the model than the case without [Formula: see text] data. In 3[Formula: see text] regions, we find the dark matter equation of state parameter [Formula: see text]. The currently available cosmic observations do not favor the nonzero dark matter equation of state parameter, no deviation from the lambda cold dark matter ([Formula: see text]CDM) model is found in 1[Formula: see text] region.

The tachyon field in cosmology is studied in this paper by applying the generating function method to obtain exact solutions. The equation of state parameter of the tachyon field is [Formula: see text], which can be expressed as a function in terms of the redshift z. Based on these solutions, we propose some tachyon-inspired dark energy models to explore the properties of the corresponding cosmological evolution. The explicit relations between the Hubble parameter and redshift enable us to test the models with SNe Ia data sets easily. In this paper, we employ the SNe Ia data with the parameter [Formula: see text] measured from the SDSS and the shift parameter [Formula: see text] from WMAP observations to constrain the parameters in our models.

In this paper, we have investigated some cosmological consequences of a quintessence dark energy model. In particular, we have obtained the forms of the equation of state parameter, the deceleration parameter and the field potential by considering a simple relation between the scale factor and the time derivative of the scalar field, instead of assuming any functional form for the scalar field potential or the scale factor or the equation of state parameter. We have found that the model provides the desired early deceleration followed by present acceleration of the universe. The potential derived numerically in this work in the form [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are real constant parameters. It has also been found that our model mimics as the standard [Formula: see text]CDM model in future. Finally, we have also shown the evolution of the normalized Hubble parameter for our model and the [Formula: see text]CDM model and compared that with the latest Hubble parameter data.

We are encouraged to look beyond ɅCDM as there are no satisfactory explanations for either dark energy or dark matter. A data centred phenomenological approach supports an explanation where dark energy is Holographic Dark Information Energy, HDIE. HDIE explains many effects attributed separately to Ʌ and CDM. HDIE mimics Ʌ with sufficient energy and an equation of state parameter, w= -1.03±0.05 at redshifts z<1.35 to account for accelerating expansion. HDIE is clumped around galaxies at densities that distort space-time, explaining many CDM attributed effects. The present ratio of HDIE/baryons ~2.15, required for the observed expansion history, is equivalent to a dark matter fraction ~68%, consistent with many galaxies. The HDIE/baryon model is based largely on proven physics, provides a common explanation for dark energy and dark matter, and solves the cosmological coincidence problem. At earlier times, z > ~1.35, HDIE was phantom, w = -1.82±0.08, enabling the model to be falsified. HDIE fits Planck dark energy wo-wa plots at least as well as Ʌ, and is consistent with other results that suggest dark energy was phantom at earlier times. A new w-parameterisation is proposed, as the usual CPL parameterisation is biased and unsuitable for distinguishing between HDIE/baryon and ɅCDM models.

In this paper, we present two viscous models of non-perfect fluid by avoiding the introduction of exotic dark energy. We consider the first model in terms of deceleration parameter [Formula: see text] has a viscosity of the form [Formula: see text] and the other model in quadratic form of [Formula: see text] of the type [Formula: see text]. In this framework we find the solutions of field equations by using inhomogeneous equation of state of form [Formula: see text] with equation of state parameter [Formula: see text] is constant and [Formula: see text].
