In this paper, we present a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi type-I cosmological model with a viscous bulk fluid in [Formula: see text] gravity where [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are the Ricci scalar and trace of the energy-momentum tensor, respectively. The field equations are solved explicitly using the hybrid law of the scale factor, which is related to the average Hubble parameter and gives a time-varying deceleration parameter (DP). We found the deceleration parameter describing two phases in the universe, the early deceleration phase [Formula: see text] and the current acceleration phase [Formula: see text]. We have calculated some physical and geometric properties and their graphs, whether in terms of time or redshift. Note that for our model, the bulk viscous pressure [Formula: see text] is negative and the energy density [Formula: see text] is positive. The energy conditions and the [Formula: see text] analysis for our spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi type-I model are also discussed.

Abstract In this paper, we study the dynamical behaviour of the universe in the F (R, G) theory of gravity, where R and G respectively denote the Ricci scalar and Gauss-Bonnet invariant. Our wide analysis encompasses the energy conditions, cosmographic parameters, Om(z) diagnostic, stability and the viability of reconstructing the referred model through a scalar field formalism. The model obtained here shows the quintessence like behaviour at late times.

Abstract In this work, we have developed FLRW cosmological models in f(R, T) gravity. The solution of the modified field equations are obtained under the newly proposed Bakry and Shafeek, “The periodic universe with varying deceleration parameter of the second degree,” Astrophys. Space Sci., vol. 364, p. 135, 2019, quadratic form of the deceleration parameter. Further, we have discussed the state-finder parameter, om-diagnostic analysis and energy conditions of the proposed model. The variation of deceleration parameter with respect to cosmic time and red-shift is consistent with observational data.

In this paper, we investigate the cosmic acceleration and the behavior of dark energy (DE) in the structure of the recently proposed [Formula: see text] gravity theory [G. R. P. Teruel, [Formula: see text] gravity, Eur. Phys. J. C 78 (2018) 660]. In this study, we obtained some fascinating cosmological features that are coherent with observational evidences and the touchstone [Formula: see text]CDM model. To find the deterministic solution, we consider a periodic deceleration parameter [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] [M. Shen and L. Zhao, Oscillating quintom model with time periodic varying deceleration parameter, Chin. Phys. Lett. 31 (2014) 010401], which predicts the decelerating and accelerating phases of the universe. The Equation of State (EoS) parameter also supports the idea of DE, which is the dominant component and it is responsible for the universe’s accelerated expansion. Here, we also construct cosmographic parameters, like, [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and studied their evolution in spatially flat [Formula: see text] gravity. We find that these observations are sufficient in comparison with the universe’s physical and kinematic properties and also consistent with ongoing (OHD[Formula: see text][Formula: see text][Formula: see text]JLA) observation. Next, we apply the geometric diagnostics, the state-finder ([Formula: see text]) in [Formula: see text] gravity to discriminate from the [Formula: see text]CDM model. We found that our model lies in quintessence and the Chaplygin Gas region. Finally, the model approaches [Formula: see text]CDM at the present epoch of the universe.

The main strands of observation in cosmology are presented. These are redshift surveys using standard candles; galaxy distributions; age estimates drawing on a number of strands of evidence; and the CMB radiation. The chapter begins with a discussion of systemtic and statistical error in measurements, and explains the terminology of “Lambda CDM” model. Observations are combined with the Friedman equation in order to constrain the density parameters in a LCDM model. Data from supernova surveys are used to obtain the Hubble parameter and the deceleration parameter, and hence evidence of an accelerating expansion. Evidence of the BAO process is deduced from sky surveys, and used to constrain the spatial curvature. The CMB radiation is discussed at length. The Sachs-Wolfe effect is obtained by a simple calculation,. The method to deduce spatial curvature from the position of the acoustic peaks is outlined. Further features such as spectal index and polarization are briefly discussed.

AbstractIn this work devoted to the investigation of the Tsallis holographic dark energy (IR cut-off is Hubble radius) in homogeneous and anisotropic Kantowski–Sachs Universe within the frame-work of Saez–Ballester scalar tensor theory of gravitation. We have constructed non-interacting and interacting Tsallis holographic dark energy models by solving the field equations using the relationship between the metric potentials. This relation leads to a viable deceleration parameter model which exhibits a transition of the Universe from deceleration to acceleration. In interacting case, we focus on sign-changeable interaction between Tsallis holographic dark energy and dark matter. The dynamical parameters like equation of state parameter, energy densities of Tsallis holographic dark energy and dark matter, deceleration parameter, and statefinder parameters of the models are explained through graphical representation. And also, we discussed the stability analysis of the our models.

Abstract Since the discovery of the late-time acceleration of the universe, researchers are still trying to fnd an explanation for it. This is regarded as the most important unsolved problem in cosmology today. The most favoured explanation is dark energy, an unknown or exotic form of matter with negative pressure. One may argue that particle physics may provide the answer in time. Currently, the LambdaCDM model is regarded as the best model. Although this model is reasonably successful and widely accepted, there is growing interest in looking at alternatives. Some of the reasons for this are the fne-tuning, coincidence, infationary paradigm and cosmological constant problems, and whether general relativity is valid on large scales. One focus in trying to understand dark energy is to assume some form of the scale, Hubble or deceleration parameter (or some other reasonable assumption), and then to see how well the model fts in with current observations. This approach is broadly called reconstruction. In this talk, we focus on the deceleration parameter. We provide a brief review of the various forms of the deceleration parameter that have been employed in the past in cosmology, and then focus on some particular forms of interest which have drawn some attention. We note that it is most worthwhile to study alternative dark energy and dark gravity models in order to fully understand the entire space of possibilities.
