The main purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between the new venture decision and a series of social, demographic, and cultural factors in Tunisia. Even though these factors have been the subject of several entrepreneurship studies, it is still difficult to identify which one impact significantly the decision to create a new enterprise. Data has been provided by the National Tunisian Global Entrepreneurship Monitor 2010 Project, based on the analysis of a sample of 339 cases. Through the utilization of a logistical regression, the main findings of the study show that the interaction between the three factors "perceived opportunities", "network" and "knowing other entrepreneurs" increase significantly the probability to create a new venture, while the main effect of "knowing other entrepreneurs" has a negative impact. We discuss the implications of our results for policy-makers with useful information in designing and implementing policies to promote enterprise development.

In the past decade interest in teaching and research on entrepreneurship has grown dramatically. More than one hundred universities now offer new venture creation and entrepreneurship courses that did not previously. Since 1973 we have seen nearly a dozen new books designed for college courses on the subject, the birth of the American Journal of Small Business, an International Symposium on Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (ISEED) and the emergence of numerous other activities, such as the Academy of Management Entrepreneurship Interest Group. A continuing area of research and practical interest is the personality and make-up of the entrepreneur: who are they? what are they like? how do they differ? This article attempts to summarize much of the research done on the personal characteristics and role demands of entrepreneurship.

In the digital era, the success of the professional development of future specialists in the process of obtaining higher education largely depends on their professional orientation (PN). Despite the significant interest in the subject of the study, the problem of identifying the factors that affect PN remains poorly understood. The purpose of the study is to determine the factors of the formation of PN of students enrolled in training and retraining programs, and the features of PN in the digital era. The article reveals the content and structure of the PN of future specialists in the era of digitalization. According to the results of the empirical research, the relationship of students' PN with indicators of life-meaning orientations, motives for choosing a profession and training was revealed; the relationship between students' life-meaning orientations and indicators of motives for choosing a profession and training at the stage of digitalization of education. The factors influencing the personal condition, and the factors of the formation of the personal condition of students, who are trained according to the programs of training and retraining of specialists, have been determined. As a result of an empirical study, it was concluded that a negative impact on the formation of PN is created by factors caused by various life circumstances, lack of independence of decisions in choosing a profession, low reflection of life goals, prospects for the future, rigidity of volitional and personal qualities, internal conflict in the structure of personality relationships, low pleasure training and the like. At the same time, the level of PN is significantly higher among students who receive a second higher education and who understand its importance at the stage of digitalization of education.

Abstract This paper focuses on the effects of entrepreneurial overconfidence at new venture creation. By analyzing Global Entrepreneurship Monitor data and using the theory of planned behavior as a framework, the study provides new evidence on the relative or absolute nature of overconfidence in entrepreneurial skills and the effect of overprecision on new venture creation. Overprecision of supporting beliefs is newly linked to venture creation and it is shown that nascent entrepreneurs’ overconfidence is based on a self-focusing attitude. The results confirm that overconfidence is not a single construct and highlights the differences between the forms of overconfidence habitually confused in the entrepreneurship literature.

Online education is manifested on three scales: formal, semi-formal and non-formal. The degree of development of each of the scales depends on the socioeconomic, technical, technological development of one country, administrative-legal and political system, its civilization and cultural milieu. It is manifest on platforms and has rules, frameworks, ranges and limitations, which usually is not studied in the formal educational systems, as it is not a part of the curriculum, or is not referred to the system of functioning large and small scales. Thus, as a consequence, educators find themselves in a digital space and become victims with burnout, destroyed knowledge and untapped potential of educational platforms. The subject of this study investigates the relationship between teacher educational background, their leadership styles and support on language teaching platforms. Results showed that educators respond to duty requests, and lead the teaching process in a parallel manner using autocratic, democratic, and liberal leadership styles, and their preferences are not related to educational background. Most of the teachers reported that they have the support from the platform where they teach, educational or other experts’ association. In contrast, a small number of participants said they do not receive any support or they have to rely on themselves. The paper discusses the theoretical and practical aspects, in an effort to improve and strengthen program oriented to improvement of online educators’ skills and their professional inclusion. Results are useful for policy makers, managers, developers and experts in a field of online education.

Eco-philosophy is a critical reflective to examine the problems that arise in the relationship between human and environment. Nowadays, we can not deny the existence of a problem that is created between the human and the environment. Humans in this paper refer to the subject or industry practitioners in Indonesia. Then, the environment refers to the objective conditions of the affected Indonesian perpetrators of the industry in question. Human existence that industry and the environment can not be denied existence. These two elements create unfair conditions, because industries practices often overlook the ethical values in the context of ecophilosophy. Low labor costs, the industries concentrated in Java and Sumatra, and monopolistic practices of natural resources, forests and pollution are concrete examples of industrial practice in Indonesia, which have a negative impact on humans and the environment. Injustice on others and the environmental crisis can not be avoided. This paper provides a philosophical framework that offers alternative solutions resolve the disharmony between the world of industrial relations with our fellow human beings and the environment in Indonesia.

AbstractIn this study, we examine the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and terrorist incidents that took place in Turkey during the period 1991:12 to 2003:12. By doing so we contribute to the literature by allowing for a possible nonlinear relationship between terrorism and FDI. The data used to measure the intensity of terrorism were collected from a major newspaper of Turkey, and therefore is limited to the direct signals given to the market. Empirical evidence from both linear and non-linear models confirms that terrorism has a large negative impact on foreign direct investment. As far as the results of the nonlinear model estimation are concerned, the impact of terrorism on FDI is estimated to be more severe during periods of high terrorism where the intensity of terrorism passes a certain threshold level. This threshold level can be interpreted as a warning ‘signal’ that FDI may decrease severely and thereby can be used by policy makers to design effective policy measures and by potential investors as an indicator of a country’s risk profile

Since both inflation and economic growth are not a new concept rather their relationships are waited still now as a debatable issue among macro-economists, policy makers, policy analysts, politicians and even the population itself by giving their own analysis by conduct a research and assumption based on the trend as before. Basically, the aims of this seminar paper are to review the relationship between inflation and economic growth as well as to review the causes, sources, determinants and impacts of Ethiopian inflation. Most of the studies indicated above shown that, higher and volatile inflation is bad for the economy. On the other hand, lower and stable inflation is considered as a promoter of the economy. Then the question should focus on what level of inflation is harmful to economic growth? Many economists have made researches on estimating the threshold level of inflation using panel data for a number of countries and time-series data for single country cases and these researchers fix the threshold level of inflation for both developing and developed country. But in this seminar paper, quantifying or fix the exact number of threshold level of Ethiopian inflation and decide below this level inflation has a positive effect on growth and beyond this level it has negative impact on growth is very difficult by simply review previous literature without conducting actual research and make a deep analysis. Even if it is the case, based on the literature it is surely possible to conclude the inflation rate has a serious negative effect on the growth of one country’s economy especially in Ethiopia, if inflation has a double digit of an annual growth.
