Aufbauend auf einer zeitlichen und inhaltlichen Abgrenzung im Produktentstehungsprozess (PEP) stellt der Fachbeitrag verschiedene Probleme vor, die bei der Serienreifmachung allgemein und in der Nutzfahrzeug-Industrie im Speziellen auftreten. Anschließend werden Herausforderungen abgeleitet, die es bei der Entwicklung eines Konzepts für die Serienreifmachung in der Nutzfahrzeug-Industrie zu bewältigen gilt.   Based on a definition of the process of attaining production-readiness in the context of the product development process, this article presents several problems that occur during the process of attaining production-readiness in general and specifically in the commercial vehicle industry. Furthermore, a selection of challenges is derived from the presented problems and an approach to cope with these challenges is suggested.

Security and dependability are crucial for designing trustworthy systems. The approach “security as an add-on” is not satisfactory, yet the integration of security in the development process is still an open problem. Especially, a common framework for specifying dependability and security is very much needed. There are many pressing challenges however; here, we address some of them. Firstly, security for dependable systems is a broad concept and traditional view of security, e.g., in terms of confidentiality, integrity and availability, does not suffice. Secondly, a clear definition of security in the dependability context is not agreed upon. Thirdly, security attacks cannot be modeled as a stochastic process, because the adversary’s strategy is often carefully planned. In this chapter, we explore these challenges and provide some directions toward their solutions.

The philosophy of integrated water resource management (IWRM), as formulated in several international summits, yielded numerous interpretations and extensions over the last decade but always focused on the overall objective of maximizing the welfare and livelihood of the people concerned. One of the major constraints of this concept is the gap between the well-defined philosophy and the fuzzy definition of operational and testable indicators for the achievement of its goals. This leads to difficulties in the evaluation of potential contributions from technological and managerial improvements. The experience of the multi-lateral IWRM research initiative SMART in the lower Jordan Valley shows that the evaluation and ranking of alternative IWRM strategies and their elements relies simultaneously on the identification of local goals and their interfaces with the superordinate national water sector policies. The documentation of the, still ongoing, development process of suitable assessment procedures describes their methodological embedding and conclusions drawn for the heterogeneous situation of water-related settings in this transboundary watershed.

AbstractThis article summarizes avionics safety-critical software development methodologies and implications of the DO-178C standard from an Agile application perspective. We explain the safety-critical software categorization. It also outlines the main differences and advantages of different approaches to the development process, from Waterfall through the V-model to Iterative and Incremental. Agile principles are explained as well as a Scrum – which is a popular framework in the non-safety-critical software industry. The application of Agile, for safety-critical software considerations, is based on the practical knowledge of the authors, and looks at the potential solution from a DO-178C standard, size of the project, scalability, and organizational culture points of view. Definition of the Agile type of framework, consistent with the certification process and existing standards, has been highlighted as a potential game-changer for the avionics industry.

Considered the first principle of the formation of the phenomenon of development of society at the level of territorial communities. The results of the study of the expansion of the possibilities of development of territorial communities as the initial level of society existence in the conditions of modernization of local self-government through the introduction of a process approach are given. The proofs of the priority role of the processes of development of territories and the necessity of creating control systems for the development process as a fractal system of local self-government are given. It is noted that the management of development processes at the local level has not yet been brought to theoretical and methodological clarity; not provided theoretical characteristics, parameters and indicators of development processes; the technology of construction and flow is not simulated; There are no defined approaches to the evaluation of the results of processes in accordance with the vectors of community development, which testifies to the lack of effective management of the phenomenon of development, starting with the initial level of its occurrence. To solve the problem of intensification and increase of the development of territorial communities, a conceptual vision of process management, creation of a system of process management, which is considered as a fractal component of the system of local self-government is developed. It is represented by a conceptual apparatus for controlling processes proposed by the definition of the concepts of «process», «development process», the path of process management, the structure of the mechanism for managing the development process in the control circuit. Criteria and indicators of controllability of development of processes are determined by adhering to the allowable limits of their fluctuations. The given proposals deepen the theoretical and methodological basis of process management. The proposed algorithm for designing development processes at the first stage of their life cycle allows you to streamline the management of development processes, reduce the path and time for their implementation. Using the results of the research carried out will allow to focus efforts and formulate tasks for local self-government bodies for the implementation of development functions; establish the level of economic, social and resource efficiency of processes; deepen the social consolidation of power, residents and business entities; to carry out comprehensive support of the components in the chain of their interaction and implementation of results; to expand the space of intuitive, creative innovative thinking when making managerial decisions.

In this paper, the authors demonstrated that the industrial enterprises development is impossible without evaluating changes that occur with technological and manufacturing sector enterprises by external and internal factors. As a result of this study on the ratio of different types of external and internal changes, the authors developed a classification of typical situations in which the technological and production sphere of the enterprise. To address the evaluation of changes in the paper developed a set of models assessing the impact of natural and artificial changes to enterprise development based on consideration of the consequences of different rates of technological and industrial areas researched the company and its competitors and provides a definition of the type of the current situation in which the industrial an enterprise that provides grounds for the development of appropriate strategies and measures for its development.

Despite the fact that vulnerable communities are the most affected by unplanned cities, considerably less attention has been given to involving them in urban development in order to ensure equitable outcomes. In this regard, there is an urgent need for governments to introduce and enforce processes that allow citizens, including vulnerable communities, to participate in development planning and policymaking. However, at present, there is a lack of guidance for practitioners regarding the definition of a clear purpose of community engagement and the selection of appropriate participatory methods to fulfil the set purpose. This study provides a thorough account of the participatory methods that can be used to achieve various engagement goals throughout the urban development process. This structured literature review used 71 reports published from 2000 to 2020. The review revealed 34 participatory methods, wherein most of the methods are devoted to informing, consulting and involving communities, whilst only a few methods are available for interactive public participation that supports true collaboration and empowerment. The study identified 12 purposes of community engagement in urban development, and mapped the 34 participatory methods for achieving them. The analysed case studies showed that the current community engagement practices are mainly in the pre-design and briefing stages of the urban development processes, and that most projects are aiming to achieve the ‘inform’ and ‘consult’ levels of engagement, with a few aiming to achieve the ‘involve’ and ‘collaborate’ levels. This study shows that community engagement is often overlooked during the professional design, development and post-development phases. The paper presents an onion model which can be used by practitioners to choose appropriate participatory methods based on the intended urban development phase, the engagement level and the purpose of the community engagement.

During the object-oriented software development process, a variety of models of the system is built. All of these models are not independent; they are related to each other. Elements in one model have trace dependencies to other models; they are semantically overlapping and together represent the system as a whole. It is necessary to have a precise definition of the syntax and semantics of the different models and their relationships since the lack of accuracy in definition can lead to wrong model interpretations and inconsistency between models. In this chapter, we classify relationships between models along three different dimensions and propose a formal description of them. The goal of the proposed formalization is to provide formal foundations for tools that perform intelligent analysis on models thereby assisting software engineers throughout the development process. In this direction, we discuss the construction of a tool based on the formalization and support the verification of traces between requirement and analysis models specified in the Unified Modeling Language.

The article deals with the problems of modern Azerbaijani culture, its philosoph­ical component and significance in understanding the development process. At the same time, this approach to the analysis of culture not only contributes to the clarification of the methodological aspects, the definition of the desired con­cept, but also allows us to understand the reasons for variability, comprehending the experience of interaction between different cultures. The specific approaches to these issues of the philosophers of Azerbaijan and some other countries are an example that allows one to identify some important methodological (cultural and historical) generalizations in the formation of Azerbaijani culture. It also reveals the process of changes in culture, its enrichment and the ability to respond to the challenges of the new. The author explains the cultural dependence of commu­nity on how the historical identity of this community and power relations change. Philosophy allows us to identify the reasons for change, dynamics in what is now perceived as a holistic culture. It is productive, as it turns out to be the key to understanding the processes of gradual development of cultures, knowledge and information about others. There are many philosophical studies about culture, but philosophy not only studies culture as a historical object, it is itself a part of it, and therefore it has the ability to influence it, being a set of ed­ucational attitudes on tolerance and morality. The author draws attention to the fact that today the importance of connections between Azerbaijani culture and ethics, education and upbringing is often underestimated.

This paper firstly discussed the definition of knowledge integration in the field of product development and proposed the multidimensional knowledge integration model which could be the guidance during the implementation of knowledge integration. Subsequently the framework of knowledge integration is presented, three layer (the enterprise distributes resources layer, enterprise managed knowledge layer and product development process layer) in the framework are explanted respectively. The ontology is introduced to provide the semantic fundament for the framework. The structure of integrative ontology is studied and constructed with OWL(Ontology Web Language). The ontology plays an important role in knowledge organization and knowledge service and it’s the core part of the whole framework. At last a prototype system based on the previous techniques is developed and basically fulfills knowledge integration in product development process.
