Multi-soft-core systems are a viable and interesting solution for embedded systems that need a particular tradeoff between performance, flexibility and development speed. As the growing capacity allows it, many-soft-cores are also expected to have relevance to future embedded systems. As a consequence, parallel programming methods and tools will be necessarily embraced as a part of the full system development process. Performance analysis is an important part of the development process for parallel applications. It is usually mandatory when you want to get a desired performance or to verify that the system is meeting some real-time constraints. One of the usual techniques used by the HPC community is the postmortem analysis of application traces. However, this is not easily transported to the embedded systems based on FPGA due to the resource limitations of the platforms. We propose several techniques and some hardware architectural support to be able to generate traces on multiprocessor systems based on FPGAs and use them to optimize the performance of the running applications.

In most industrial embedded systems development projects, the software and the hardware development parts are separated, and the constraint requirements/capabilities are informally exchanged in the system development phase of the process. To prevent failures due to the violation of timing constraints, hardware components of the platform are typically over dimensioned for the capabilities needed. This increases both cost and power consumption. Performance analysis is not done sufficiently at early stages of the development process to optimize the system. This chapter presents results of the integration of tools and extra modeling to offer new performance analysis capabilities in the early stages of the development process. These results are based on trace generation from code instrumentation. A number of enhancements were made, spanning the system modeling stage down to the execution stage (based on an ARM dual core Cortex A9-based target board). Final results taken from a software-based radio case study (including the analysis and validation stages) are presented.

While analyzing currently available international research about embedded system development, it seems that as the complexity of embedded systems is continuously increasing, the major problems regarding their development remain always the same: vague requirements, insufficient time to develop, lack of resources, and complexity management. With the focus on the development process, it is shown, with examples coming from 20 years of experience, the industry perspective of a company managing such problems by adopting a consolidated set of good practices.

The complexity of current EMC problems and the necessity to solve them in an accurate, reliable and efficient way require various analysis techniques. Numerical simulations can be considered as one of the most powerful tools for performing EMC analysis. Computational electromagnetics is used within basic research for example at universities as well as during nearly all phases of a product or system development process occurring in industrial life. Especially here, several challenges result from the application of numerical simulations. The most important ones are described and discussed in this paper. An exemplary interference problem is presented demonstrating the relevance and impact of those challenges.

Lampung is one of the provinces that has a considerable tourism potential in which each region has tourism potential with its own unique attraction in South Lampung regency. However, the Tsunami disaster that struck the coastal areas of Banten and South Lampung on 22 Desemeber 2018, impacted the decline in the number of tourists visiting the archipelago and abroad to tourist destinations by the end of year 2018. Based on the problems raised above, the purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the strategy conducted by the Tourism and culture Office of South Lampung Regency in the effort to develop tourism sector in South Lampung district after Tsunami disaster. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research informant is determined purpossive. Data collection techniques are conducted with observations, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out with data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and data triangulation. Data is presented and in a descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the research is known that the Tourism and culture Department of South Lampung district has a strategy to develop tourism potential in South Lampung regency. In determining a strategy for tourism development in South Lampung District after the Tsunami disaster pay attention to four basic factors. These four factors are strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats with some sectors involved in the tourism development process. The conclusion of this research is based on the SWOT anilisis which produces four strategies i.e. SO strategy, WO Strategy, Strategy ST, and WT strategy

Good service quality in public services will give an impetus to the user community to give a good assessment. Good service by the State Civil Servants (ASN) in the Transportation Obligatory Licensing Unit (UPAKWU) in the Karanganyar District Transportation Department was apparently still receiving complaints from the service user community. This shows that there are still some shortcomings in the implementation of the service system in the office. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling method. The data used are primary data obtained directly from respondents by providing a list of questions or questionnaires. Data analysis techniques using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) are used to measure the level of satisfaction of someone over the performance of other parties, and Cartesian Diagrams to determine service indicators that satisfy or do not satisfy consumers. The results showed that: Service quality in UPAKWU Karanganyar Regency according to customer perceptions has not been satisfactory, despite having good service performance / above average. Field hockey is an evolving sport, but it is unclear whether performance analysis techniques are reflective of current best practice. The objective of this review was to identify performance analysis methods used in field hockey, assess their practicality, and provide recommendations on their implementation in the field. A systematic search of the databases SPORTDiscus, Web of Science, Scopus, MEDLINE and PubMed was performed. Key words addressed performance analysis methods and field hockey, with all other disciplines of sport science excluded. A total of 8 articles were identified from the systematic review. Three studies explored patterns of play in relation to goal scoring opportunities, two articles examined penalty corner strategies and three compared specific actions in hockey. The limited performance analysis research in field hockey has focused on game actions in patterns of play. However, greater insights may be gained by analysing hockey using a holistic approach that incorporates spatio-temporal variables and player-opposition interactions. There is an opportunity to employ novel performance analysis techniques in hockey which provide more practical and effective approaches for analysing strategies and tactics.

Future mobile and embedded systems will be smarter and more user-friendly. They will perceive the physical environment, understand human context, and interact with end-users in a human-like fashion. Daily objects will be capable of leveraging sensor data to perform complex estimation and recognition tasks, such as recognizing visual inputs, understanding voice commands, tracking objects, and interpreting human actions. This raises important research questions on how to endow low-end embedded and mobile devices with the appearance of intelligence despite their resource limitations.
