The problem of classification of risk factors in an uncertain environment is part of the risk management problem, which has a critical effect on the competitive advantage of production supply chain. The severities of consequences, their relative importance, and the frequency of occurrence of risk factors are defined by risk management team, depending on their experience and the results of good practice. Fuzzy rating of the severities of consequences and the frequency of occurrence of risk factors are described by linguistic expressions, which are modeled by triangular fuzzy numbers. The risk values, obtained by the materialization of the identified risk factors, are given precisely with the usage of fuzzy algebra rules. The classification criterion is defined as the distance between current risk value and extreme risk values. The proposed model enables determination of the priorities of risk factors. It is illustrated by an example with real-life data from a production supply chain in auto industry.

The competition between supply chains is increasingly fierce on the current, supply chain risk management is got more attention by people. This paper elaborates definitions and meaning of the supply chain risk and supply chain risk management at first, followed by the classification of supply chain risk factors whose features are analyzed and compared thereafter. In the last, the paper proposes countermeasures and suggestions on supply chain risk management, which provides a useful reference for the future studies.

PurposeReverse logistics (RL), an inseparable aspect of supply chain management, returns used products to recovery processes with the aim of reducing waste generation. Enterprises, however, seem reluctant to apply RL due to various types of risks which are perceived as posing an economic threat to businesses. This paper draws on a synthesis of supply chain and risk management literature to identify and cluster RL risk factors and to recommend risk mitigation strategies for reducing the negative impact of risks on RL implementation.Design/methodology/approachThe authors identify and cluster risk factors in RL by using risk management theory. Experts in RL and supply chain risk management validated the risk factors via a questionnaire. An unsupervised data mining method, self-organising map, is utilised to cluster RL risk factors into homogeneous categories.FindingsA total of 41 risk factors in the context of RL were identified and clustered into three different groups: strategic, tactical and operational. Risk mitigation strategies are recommended to mitigate the RL risk factors by drawing on supply chain risk management approaches.Originality/valueThis paper studies risks in RL and recommends risk management strategies to control and mitigate risk factors to implement RL successfully.

Under the condition of competition and cooperation allying type between enterprises promotes the formation of supply chain. Due to a large quantity of uncertain factors the supply chain will be interrupted provided some risk appears, which shows the vulnerability of the whole supply chain, and all risks of supply chain occur hereby. Firstly, the paper makes the definition on supply chain risk and supply chain risk management and sums up the classification of the risks that the supply chain faces according to the risks source. At last, based on the above the paper discusses the protection measurement of supply chain risk.

Today organizations of any magnitude have heavily integrated supply chain. The supply chain management consists of all parties involved, directly or indirectly in fulfilling customer request. There is an immense growth which has expanded from the traditional point of view as not only of physical distribution of materials but also to services. Implementing supply chain risk management has been troubleshooting in many organizations. In practice assessing risk management in supply chain is rather underdeveloped and often dealt with informal and reactive manner. As risk management issues today is subjected to substantial research and the organizations are trying to mitigate the risk issues so as to maintain the smooth operation of supply chain. The purpose of this paper is to identify and prioritize the risk factors in context to supply chain management of Indian manufacturing organizations. The research presented here is specifically targeted to Indian manufacturing organizations which are managing the supply chain operations. This paper deals with the risk issues and thus empirically assesses which risk factors are most influencing one in supply chain operations which must be given careful attention.

Risk management is indispensable. Halal fashion is an emerging business globally, yet studies of Halal fashion supply chain (HFSC) risk management are scarce. An in-depth literature review discovered 40 risk factors in the HFSC. A group of professionals active in the field classified these risks into seven categories. The fuzzy best-worst approach was then used to rank the risk categories and risk factors. Manufacturing and design risks have the highest significance in HFSC management, and risks in the financial and sustainability categories the lowest. The paper contributes significantly by delivering an extensive inventory of HFSC management risks and their relative rankings that can serve as a foundation for the development of a large number of theoretical studies.

This article describes how as mankind has been ever-evolving, so are their needs, growing in leaps and bounds. Risk management in supply chains have become a prerequisite as it involves a series of steps like procuring, processing, and distribution, where risk has to be managed. Given the advent of technology and transformation of supply chain management from traditional to modern methods, a lot has changed, and of course with ever-evolving technology, the organisations have become adept at handling risks associated with many factors within the organisation and outside the organisation. In this article, the authors will analyse the percentage impact of external and internal supply chain risk factors on various supply chain decisions, and also project various tools available to mitigate Supply chain risks.

The supply chain information management of logistics has become an important method to enhance its competitiveness. The inventory information management and application of the logistics supply is researched based on grey clustering decision-making methods. The inventory theory and methods are studied firstly, and the fuzzy mathematics and grey system theory are used to solve the classification problem. The electronic industry logistics supply chain is taken as the example, the inventory information management problem is solved. The inventory information management theory is improved in this paper, and it can more accurately reflect the market situation, it provides the reference for the classification of inventory information management in logistics supply chain.

Every construction project is always faced with the possibility of various occurrence kinds of risks. The higher the level of complexity of a project, the greater the level of risk that might happen to the project. Based on historical data from tunnel construction many problems and even failure of tunnel construction caused by various factors has been noted and it can have an impact on project delays. A risk management is expected to reduce the adverse impact of risks faced during construction work. Tunnel construction needs management handling with high risk, so it is necessary to identify risks that can minimize bad risks. A risk management is expected to reduce the adverse effects of risks faced in a construction work. It is necessary to perform risk identification to manage the risks that we will face. To successfully improve the performance of tunnel projects, we need to identify various risk factors in a project for efficient project fulfillment. The research method begins with an extensive literature review by reviewing at least 48 journal, journal papers, review articles to provide a list of the main risk factors which are also added to the expertise to achieve a list of final risk factors that contain all risks that may be encountered during road construction. This analysis involves the identification, classification of various risks involved in the construction of a tunnel construction project.

The global competitive environment is more and more severe competition; in many sectors, the products life cycle in the market is shorter and shorter. Besides, the increasing level of customer demand that drives the enterprises must invest, and focus more on the supply chain. Supply chain operations with many members in different countries are always present with many uncertainties, so risk management plays an important role in efficient supply chain performance. This paper focuses on reviewing literature related to supply chain risk management, the characteristics of the apparel industry, and conducting in-depth interviews with some managers at some garment enterprises in HCMC to identify risk factors of the Vietnam apparel supply chain when producing FOB orders. Based on that, this is the basis for future research on supply chain risk management Vietnam’s apparel industry.
