The supply chain information management of logistics has become an important method to enhance its competitiveness. The inventory information management and application of the logistics supply is researched based on grey clustering decision-making methods. The inventory theory and methods are studied firstly, and the fuzzy mathematics and grey system theory are used to solve the classification problem. The electronic industry logistics supply chain is taken as the example, the inventory information management problem is solved. The inventory information management theory is improved in this paper, and it can more accurately reflect the market situation, it provides the reference for the classification of inventory information management in logistics supply chain.

The problem of classification of risk factors in an uncertain environment is part of the risk management problem, which has a critical effect on the competitive advantage of production supply chain. The severities of consequences, their relative importance, and the frequency of occurrence of risk factors are defined by risk management team, depending on their experience and the results of good practice. Fuzzy rating of the severities of consequences and the frequency of occurrence of risk factors are described by linguistic expressions, which are modeled by triangular fuzzy numbers. The risk values, obtained by the materialization of the identified risk factors, are given precisely with the usage of fuzzy algebra rules. The classification criterion is defined as the distance between current risk value and extreme risk values. The proposed model enables determination of the priorities of risk factors. It is illustrated by an example with real-life data from a production supply chain in auto industry.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present the terms of grey clustering evaluation models. Design/methodology/approach The definitions of basic terms about grey clustering evaluation models are presented one by one. Findings The reader could know the basic explanation about the important terms about various grey clustering evaluation models from this paper. Practical implications Many of the authors’ colleagues thought that unified definitions of key terms would be beneficial for both the readers and the authors. Originality/value It is a fundamental work to standardise all the definitions of terms for a new discipline. It is also propitious to spread and universal of grey system theory.

Grounding grid is an important device which ensures the safe operation of substation. Its corrosion is influenced by various factors and the influence of these factors is varied. It is difficult to infer the relationship between the corrosion rate and its influencing factors, so this paper apply the grey clustering method of grey system theory in the grounding grid corrosion and gives an application instance and realizes it by MATLAB. The results demonstrate the practicality and effectiveness of the method mentioned in this paper. This method can provide reference for high reliability for related departments in the implementation of emergency situation due to grounding grid corrosion.

The identification and classification of petroliferous unit is the key to the success in the exploration for oil-gas fields with geophysical knowledge that are the main means and ways to reduce exploration risk and improve exploration efficiency. In this paper, it analyzes geophysical response characteristics under conditions of gas, oil and water through the establishment of horizontal layered medium model. Then it extracts and analyzes seismic abnormal characteristics of the data structure combining the method of grey system theory based on the experiment, which are considered as an important reference for further objectively identifying petroliferous unit and the exploration of oil-gas fields in the practical application with comparison and analysis.

On the basis of the grey system theory, which is proposed to tackle the problems of uncertainty and missing information, an integrative method for the effectiveness evaluation of network attacks is proposed, which combines the merits of three different kinds of evaluation methods based on Grey-Clustering Analysis (GCA). Particularly, the proposed method provides a solution to the problem of accuracy drop seen in prevailing grey evaluation methods when the clustering coefficients exhibit no significant difference. With low time complexity, the proposed method performs well in the effectiveness evaluation of network attacks. Simulation results on suitable DDoS scenarios demonstrate the feasibility and power of the method.

Grey system theory is a mathematical technique used to predict data with known and unknown characteristics. The aim of our research is to forecast the future amount of technical reserves (outstanding claims reserve, loss ratio fluctuations reserve and unearned premiums reserve) up to 2029/2030. This study applies the Grey Model GM(1,1) using data obtained from the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) over the period from 2005/2006 to 2015/2016 for non-life Egyptian insurance market. We found that the predicted amounts of outstanding claims reserve and loss ratio fluctuations reserve are highly significant than the unearned premiums reserve according to the value of Posterior Error Ratio (PER).
