Monitoring the settlement of high-fill subgrade plays a significant role in maintaining the service quality of highways. To investigate the postconstruction settlement of high-fill subgrade under gravity stress and vehicle loads, in situ monitoring was carried out on the Lanzhou-Yongjing highway. Single-point settlement meters were buried in various depths under the driveway and road shoulder. The evolution of settlement with time and space was analyzed. The results show that the settlement of the road shoulder is greater than that of the driveway; the settlement of the subgrade increases with time and tends to be stable after 1 year; the vehicle loads have no big effect on the settlement of the subgrade; the exponential model can be adopted to predict the settlement of the Lanzhou-Yongjing highway accurately.

The in-situ monitoring of the MBE grown nanostructures can be carried out using the RHEED method. During the droplet epitaxal growth, the observation of the nanostructure formation is very important to understand the growth kinetics. In the present work, a novel in-situ RHEED evaluation and further MBE related developments are introduced, with which the quality of the nanostructure preparation can be improved.

AbstractBack in the early 1980s, coal deposits occurring at depths of ~700 m below surface were already regarded as large-depth deposits. Meanwhile, today the borderline depth of large-depth mining has extended to >1,000 m. Design, excavation and maintenance of mining roadways at the depth of >1,000 m have, therefore, become crucial issues in a practical perspective in recent years. Hence, it is now extremely important to intensify research studies on the influence of large depths on the behaviour of rock mass and deformation of support in underground excavations. The paper presents the results of the study carried out in five mining excavations at depths ranging from 950 to 1,290 m, where monitoring stations with measurement equipment were built. The analysis of data from laboratory and coal mine tests, as well as in situ monitoring, helped to formulate a set of criteria for stability assessment of underground excavations situated at large depths. The proposed methodology of load and deformation prediction in support systems of the excavations unaffected by exploitation is based on the criteria referring to the depth of excavation and the quality of rock mass. The depth parameter is determined by checking whether the analysed excavation lies below the critical depth, whereas the rock mass quality is determined on the basis of the roof lithology index (WL) and the crack intensity factor (n)

In order to compete, survive, and grow the company is required to provide a good quality services to meet the needs and desires of its customers. Companies must be able to maintain a good reputation in the eyes of its customers. A good quality services will tend to give more satisfaction to the customers who use the services of the company. With emphasis on good service it will build a long-term profitable relationships with customers while also achieving customer loyalty. Therefore, this study is aiming to determine the importance of the impact of service quality, trust and customer satisfaction at PT Mega Manunggal Tbk Property in an effort to improve customer loyalty which will affect the company's survival. A questionnaire distribution method chosen in this study is to collect primary data. Completed questionnaires designed and distributed or disseminated to all customers. SPSS for windows has been used to process the primary data.Thefindings showed that there is a significant relationship between service quality and customer loyalty, meaning that if the quality of service increases, customer loyalty will also increase.There is a significant influence between customer trust and customerloyalty,meaning that if the customer trust increases, customer loyalty will also increase.

The objective of this study was to develop cyanobacteria remote sensing models using Landsat 7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) as an alternative to shipboard monitoring efforts in Lake Champlain. The approach allowed for estimation of cyanobacteria directly from satellite images, calibrated and validated with 4 years of in situ monitoring data from Lake Champlain's Long-Term Water Quality and Biological Monitoring Program (LTMP). The resulting stepwise regression model was applied to entire satellite images to provide distribution of cyanobacteria throughout the surface waters of Lake Champlain. The results demonstrate the utility of remote sensing for estimating the distribution of cyanobacteria in inland waters, which can be further used for presenting the initiation and propagation of cyanobacterial blooms in Lake Champlain.
