Biometrics consists of scientific methods of using a person’s unique physiological or behavioral traits for electronic identification and verification. The traits for biometric identification are fingerprint, voice, face, and palm print recognition. However, this study considers fingerprint recognition for in-person identification since they are distinctive, reliable, and relatively easy to acquire. Despite the many works done, the problem of accuracy still persists which perhaps can be attributed to the varying characteristic of the acquisition devices. This study seeks to improve the issue recognition accuracy with the proposal of the fusion of a two transform and minutiae models. In this study, a transform-minutiae fusion-based model for fingerprint recognition is proposed. The first transform technique, thus wave atom transform, was used for data smoothing while the second transform, thus wavelet, was used for feature extraction. These features were added to the minutiae features for person recognition. Evaluating the proposed design on the FVC 2002 dataset showed a relatively better performance compared to existing methods with an accuracy measure of 100% as to 96.67% and 98.55% of the existing methods.

Fingerprints play a central role in any field where person identification is required. In forensics and biometrics, three-dimensional fingerprint-based imaging technologies, and corresponding recognition methods, have been vastly investigated. In cultural heritage, preliminary studies provide evidence that the three-dimensional impressions left on objects from the past (ancient fingerprints) are of paramount relevance to understand the socio-cultural systems of former societies, to possibly identify a single producer of multiple potteries, and to authenticate the artist of a sculpture. These findings suggest that the study of ancient fingerprints can be further investigated and open new avenues of research. However, the potential for capturing and analyzing ancient fingerprints is still largely unexplored in the context of cultural heritage research. In fact, most of the existing studies have focused on plane fingerprint representations and commercial software for image processing. Our aim is to outline the opportunities and challenges of digital fingerprint recognition in answering a range of questions in cultural heritage research. Therefore, we summarize the fingerprint-based imaging technologies, reconstruction methods, and analyses used in biometrics that could be beneficial to the study of ancient fingerprints in cultural heritage. In addition, we analyze the works conducted on ancient fingerprints from potteries and ceramic/fired clay sculptures. We conclude with a discussion on the open challenges and future works that could initiate novel strategies for ancient fingerprint acquisition, digitization, and processing within the cultural heritage community.

Abstract The economic context in the recent years has undergone major changes in modern methods and techniques used in management. The current competitive environment is characterized by permanent turbulences influencing firstly the managerial act itself. Out of the many methods and techniques applied so far, some turn out to be less adaptable to the current economic and social context. In the same train of ideas, the organizations always looking for sources of competitive advantage have the tendency of applying innovation and the new in the field. Another trend noted in the current management is that of going towards using operational management methods that enable the replacement of the current descriptive empirical management with certain regulatory and scientific methods. From this point of view the study aims to highlight the competitive advantage generated by applying the participative management as a management method used within the organizations in order to obtain a better efficiency of the economic activities.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, automated contactless person identification based on the human hand has become very vital and an appealing biometric trait. Since, people are expected to cover their faces with masks, and advised avoiding touching surfaces. It is well-known that usually contact-based hand biometrics suffer from issues like deformation due to uneven distribution of pressure or improper placement on sensor, and hygienic concerns. Whereas, to mitigate such problems, contactless imaging is expected to collect the hand biometrics information without any deformation and leading to higher person recognition accuracy; besides maintaining hygienic and pandemic concerns. Towards this aim, in this paper, an effective multi-biometric scheme for person authentication based on contactless fingerprint and palmprint selfies has been proposed. In this study, for simplicity and efficiency, three local descriptors, i.e., local phase quantization (LPQ), local Ternary patterns (LTP), and binarized statistical image features (BSIF), have been employed to extract salient features from contactless fingerprint and palmprint selfies. The score level fusion based multi-biometric system developed in this work combines the matching scores using two different fusion techniques, i.e., transformation based-rules like triangular norms and classifier based-rules like SVM. Experimental results on two publicly available databases (i.e., PolyU contactless to contact-based fingerprint database and IIT-Delhi touchless palmprint dataset) show that the proposed contactless multi-biometric selfie system can easily outperform uni-biometrics.

The article is devoted to the study of the poetic heritage of Boris Kuneevich Utizhev, that is one of the many facets of the work of the Kabardian poet, writer, playwright, scientist-linguist. The relevance of the study is dictated, on the one hand, by the insufficient development of some genres (sonnets, ballads, prose poems) in the Adyghe (Kabardian) literature, on the other hand, by the need to fill the existing gap in the study of B. Utizhev's poetic heritage. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that the poetry of this author for the first time became the subject of a separate comprehensive study in the dialectic of form and content. The focus of research is the poet's poems and sonnets. Special attention is paid to the innovative genre of prose poems, the specificity of their ideological-thematic and structural-compositional organization is revealed. The only ballad "Song" is subjected to a detailed analysis, a genre characteristic is given, the degree of conformity of the work to the genre declared by the author is revealed. In general, the article examines the topics and problems, aesthetics and poetics of lyric and lyric-epic works: the main motives are revealed, the rich poetic language is studied, the characteristic of Utizhev’s individual author style is presented. The contribution of the poet to the evolution of national poetry is determined. A number of scientific methods were used in the work, among the main ones - analysis, description, as well as comparative-historical and hermeneutic methods. The results obtained can be helpful in studying the history of the Adyghe (Adyghean, Kabardian, Circassian, Circassian abroad) literatures, more generally – the literature of the peoples of the North Caucasus and the Russian Federation, as well as in the preparation of special courses and writing qualification and other types of research work.

The legislator, officials of the state apparatus and the lawyers – all those who face creation, application, and systematization of legal acts – are especially interested in the perfection of such technique. Thinking in legislation is the key element in a process in which the legislator – both legal (lawyer) and political – has to choose one of the many solutions that consolidate social compromise. Legislative technique in Lithuanian doctrine is interpreted in a narrow and a broad sense. This article proves the necessity for the purview of laws to be determined by needs of the society and not by the will of authorities; it also explains how the legislator should apply legal sociology for this purpose. Scientific methods of legal sociology in lawmaking have been introduced relatively recently. The impact of law on political authorities in the process of lawmaking is reflected in actual legally consolidated politics. As legal awareness – „the spirit of law“ – has a direct impact on political processes and determines establishment of procedures, therefore politics itself becomes a part of law. Herewith in political processes the law becomes dynamic and politics itself becomes entrenched in law. In this article interpreting the legislative technique in a broad sense, as a set of methods and means used in preparation, publication and systematization of legal acts, one of its goals should be distinguished – to improve the legislative process from a technical point of view. In Lithuania, it needs to be noted that the content of these requirements have undergone positive changes in quality with the changes of legal acts. In addition to general technical – linguistical requirements material content requirements have been set forth, constituting the scope of individual regulation, the relationship with other legal acts, the essential principles of public relations regulated, etc. At the same time, references to the source of official publication were abandoned, and all these changes lead to conclusion, that the legislative technique in this area has become simpler and clearer and it contributes to the development of better lawmaking.

Nowadays, person recognition has received significant attention due to broad applications in the security system. However, most person recognition systems are implemented based on unimodal biometrics such as face recognition or voice recognition. Biometric systems that adopted unimodal have limitations, mainly when the data contains outliers and corrupted datasets. Multimodal biometric systems grab researchers’ consideration due to their superiority, such as better security than the unimodal biometric system and outstanding recognition efficiency. Therefore, the multimodal biometric system based on face and fingerprint recognition is developed in this paper. First, the multimodal biometric person recognition system is developed based on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and ORB (Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF) algorithm. Next, two features are fused by using match score level fusion based on Weighted Sum-Rule. The verification process is matched if the fusion score is greater than the pre-set threshold. The algorithm is extensively evaluated on UCI Machine Learning Repository Database datasets, including one real dataset with state-of-the-art approaches. The proposed method achieves a promising result in the person recognition system.
