Aimed at the problem of order determination of short-term power consumption in a time series model, a new method was proposed to determine the order p and the moving average q of the ARMA model by particle swarm optimization (PSO).According to the difference between the predicted value and the real value of the ARMA model, the fitness function of the particle swarm optimization algorithm is constructed, while the optimal solution which satisfies the ARMA model is confirmed by adjusting the inertia weight, population size, particle velocity, and iteration number. Finally, SVR regression is performed by using a support vector machine to correct the residual sequence obtained after the prediction of ARMA. The final prediction result is obtained by adding the predicted values and corrected residual. Based on the data of historical electricity load of a residential district in 2016~2017, the proposed method is compared with the traditional models. The result of the use of MATLAB simulation shows that the method is simple and feasible, greatly improves the model prediction accuracy, and implements the new method for short-term load forecasting of a small sample.

Aiming at improving localization accuracy in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) based on Least Square Support Vector Regression (LSSVR), making LSSVR localization method more practicable, the mechanism of effects of the kernel function for target localization based on LSSVR is discussed based on the mathematical solution process of LSSVR localization method. A novel method of modeling parameters optimization for LSSVR model using particle swarm optimization is proposed. Construction method of fitness function for modeling parameters optimization is researched. In addition, the characteristics of particle swarm parameters optimization are analyzed. The computational complexity of parameters optimization is taken into consideration comprehensively. Experiments of target localization based on CC2430 show that localization accuracy using LSSVR method with modeling parameters optimization increased by 23%~36% in compare with the maximum likelihood method(MLE) and the localization error is close to the minimum with different LSSVR modeling parameters. Experimental results show that adapting a reasonable fitness function for modeling parameters optimization using particle swarm optimization could enhance the anti-noise ability significantly and improve the LSSVR localization performance.

In this work, we summarized the characteristics and influencing factors of load forecasting based on its application status. The common methods of the short-term load forecasting were analyzed to derive their advantages and disadvantages. According to the historical load and meteorological data in a certain region of Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, a least squares support vector machine model was used to discuss the influencing factors of forecasting. The regularity of the load change was concluded to correct the “abnormal data” in the historical load data, thus normalizing the relevant factors in load forecasting. The two parameters are as follows Gauss kernel function and Eigen parameter C in LSSVM had a significant impact on the model, which was still solved by empirical methods. Therefore, the particle swarm optimization was used to optimize the model parameters. Taking the error of test set as the basis of judgment, the optimization of model parameters was achieved to improve forecast accuracy. The practical examples showed that the method in the work had good convergence, forecast accuracy, and training speed.

In the paper, the forecast problems of wind speed are considered. In order to enhance the redaction accuracy of the wind speed, this article is about a research on particle swarm optimization least square support vector machine for short-term wind speed prediction (PSO-LS-SVM). Firstly, the prediction models are built by using least square support vector machine based on particle swarm optimization, this model is used to predict the wind speed next 48 hours. In order to further improve the prediction accuracy, on this basis, introduction of the offset optimization method. Finally large amount of experiments and measurement data comparison compensation verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the research on particle swarm optimization least square support vector machine for short-term wind speed prediction, Thereby reducing the short-term wind speed prediction error, very broad application prospects.

The values of parameters of support vector machine have close contact with its forecast accuracy. In order to accurately forecast power short-term load,we presented a power short-term load forecasting method based on quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization and support vector machine.First, cauchy distribution was used to improve the quantum particle swarm algorithm.Secondly, the improved quantum particle swarm optimization algorithm was used to optimize the parameter of support vector machine. Finally, the support vector machine was used for power short-term load forecasting. In the proposed method such factors impacting loads as meteorology, weather and date types are comprehensively considered. The experimental results show that the root-mean-square relative error of the proposed method is only 1.90%, which is less than those of SVM and PSO-SVM model by 2.29% and 2.80%, respectively.

Due to the influence of artificial factor and slow convergence of particle swarm algorithm (PSO) during parameters selection of support vector machine (SVM), this paper proposes a modified particle swarm optimization support vector machine (MPSO-SVM). A Steam turbine vibration fault diagnosis model was established and the failure data was used in fault diagnosis. The results of application show the model can get automatic optimization about the related parameters of support vector machine and achieve the ideal optimal solution globally. MPSO-SVM strategy is feasible and effective compared with traditional particle swarm optimization support vector machine (PSO-SVM) and genetic algorithm support vector machine (GA-SVM).

A three-dimensional (3D) point cloud registration based on entropy and particle swarm algorithm (EPSA) is proposed in the paper. The algorithm can effectively suppress noise and improve registration accuracy. Firstly, in order to find the k-nearest neighbor of point, the relationship of points is established by k-d tree. The noise is suppressed by the mean of neighbor points. Secondly, the gravity center of two point clouds is calculated to find the translation matrix T. Thirdly, the rotation matrix R is gotten through particle swarm optimization (PSO). While performing the PSO, the entropy information is selected as the fitness function. Lastly, the experiment results are presented. They demonstrate that the algorithm is valuable and robust. It can effectively improve the accuracy of rigid registration.
