Energy-saving production is one of the issues that must be paid attention to by today’s manufacturing enterprises. Aiming at the problem of integrated process planning and scheduling (IPPS) in the manufacturing process, considering Time-of-Use (TOU) and tiered electricity price, this paper systematically studies the energy-saving scheduling problem in order to reduce the power consumption in processing and production. To establish the multiobjective optimization mathematical model of the problem, the load balancing problem of the equipment is considered, the minimization of the power consumption and the maximum load of the equipment are taken as the optimization objectives. Then, considering the constraints of resource and multiprocess, the switching strategy of the equipment in idle time is introduced, including shutdown and restart operations. In order to solve the model easily, a multiobjective firefly algorithm (MOFA) based on five-layer coding is designed, and the elite strategy is introduced to protect the excellent firefly individuals in the iterative population. Finally, through a specific example, the Pareto solution set is obtained, which provides a reference scheme for decision-makers, and verifies the correctness of the model and the effectiveness of the algorithm.

Since the establishment of peak-valley electricity price system, many enterprises in China have devoted to research on peak load shifting strategies. This paper firstly analyzes the feasibility of applying peak load shifting for mixing procedure in two aspects: rubber compound standard and electric power consumption, then establishes the shifting model, makes depth description to the planning and scheduling algorithm that implements the model, then verify the model with real data and finally reach the expected goal. At last, the paper introduces MESNAC planning and scheduling solutions which have integrated the shifting model.

AbstractThe Internet of Things adoption in the manufacturing industry allows enterprises to monitor their electrical power consumption in real time and at machine level. In this paper, we follow up on such emerging opportunities for data acquisition and show that analyzing power consumption in manufacturing enterprises can serve a variety of purposes. In two industrial pilot cases, we discuss how analyzing power consumption data can serve the goals reporting, optimization, fault detection, and predictive maintenance. Accompanied by a literature review, we propose to implement the measures real-time data processing, multi-level monitoring, temporal aggregation, correlation, anomaly detection, forecasting, visualization, and alerting in software to tackle these goals. In a pilot implementation of a power consumption analytics platform, we show how our proposed measures can be implemented with a microservice-based architecture, stream processing techniques, and the fog computing paradigm. We provide the implementations as open source as well as a public show case allowing to reproduce and extend our research.

As the market competition became more fiercely and the customers’ needs of diversified products increased, small and medium enterprises (SME) were more and more aware of the importance of getting quick respond of the market. More and more enterprises felt the logistics cost pressure during this business. How to lower down the logistics cost especially the stock cost became crucial for these SME enterprises. Further more, for enterprises whose producing type is many varieties small batches, how to use valid method to decline inventory and waste, is a great hard nut to crack. This article targeted on inventory control of clothing manufacturing enterprises for research, RFID technology was applied in stock management, optimization method was adopted for inventory control based on RFID, optimization control model was built, and the route for declined inventory cost and waste was analyzed. Finally, the application method was verified according emulation.

To enlarge production to meet the market demand, its nessasery to improve the present facility layout for MTO (Make-To-Order) manufacturing enterprises. This paper tries to design a optimization method based on genetic algorithm for the facility layout of MTO enterprises. Firstly, SLP (systematic layout planning) was applied to analyze the material and non-material flow interrelation of the workshop. Secondly, a relatively optimum layout was determined after using fuzzy hierarchy estimation to evaluate the schemes. Then the scheme was optimized with genetic algorithm. The result shows that the optimized logistics transport load is obviously less than before. This design method based on genetic algorithm (GA) is proved feasible and effective in the optimization of facility layout.

The paper presents the evaluation of the implementation of innovative methods of energy savings in electric drive and power supply systems at mining enterprises. The evaluation involves mathematical simulation and instrumental monitoring of the defined indicators that allow obtaining a multiplier economic benefit through the appropriate approach to the implementation and subsequent exploitation of energy-saving technologies. For this purpose, the potential of energy savings in industry in general, and at mining enterprises in particular, is shown. Such indicators as power consumption in mining, the dynamics of power losses in public grids, specific power consumption for lighting and household needs, specific power consumption for lifting and supplying water, as well as for sewage treatment were evaluated. As an example, such measures as reactive power compensation, the introduction of frequency-controlled electric drive systems, the development and implementation of the systems for continuous monitoring of power quality indicators were considered pointwise (at some sites of enterprises). The mathematical simulation method was implemented using the MatLab software package. The instrumental monitoring was carried for 7 days with a ten-minute interval. As a result of the assessment of such measures, the total economic benefit approaching to 9.0 million rubles a year was obtained.

Abstract The lighting design in a residential building now-a-days is not only limited to general lighting but also it is focused to provide quality lighting with the help of wide range of available luminaire with different orientations as well as colours with efficient use of energy, that opens up accurate characteristics of specific areas in any room of the building. The affordable housings in many states are some of the examples of residential building where most of the flats in a typical floor are using conventional lighting systems which are not energy efficient and light level is low compared to standards. This paper is mainly focused to provide a budget friendly as well as energy efficient lighting design with the help of new and energy efficient lamps using DIALux Software, which can be proposed to renovate the existing conventional lighting systems. In this paper effort has been made to reduce the power consumption in all rooms and lux levels has been achieved as per standard values along with good amount of energy saving with the use of newer technologies.
