<span>Given the high demands of contemporary community on the development of the youth, teachers’ job performance both inside and outside the classroom is of crucial for all partake parties, including school leaders, parents, education policymakers, and community at large. This study was meant to describe job satisfaction of elementary school teachers of Boven Digoel district, Papua, and how it predicts their job performance. To do so, we applied a survey research. Two survey questionnaire were self-administered to 352 teacher-respondent which were incidentally drawn from amongst 412 elementary school teachers of Boven Digoel district, Papua. Derived data were examined statistically using simple linear regression analysis method by utilizing Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21. Result of data analysis showed that job performance of elementary school teachers of Boben Digoel district is significant positively predicted by their job satisfaction. Finding of this study may be imperative for the school management and education administrator at the regional authority to make paramount efforts of creating valuable plans for enhancing teacher’s satisfaction in order to promote a better job performance of elementary school teachers of Boven Digoel district, Papua.</span>

The objective of this study was to examine the effect of demographic characteristics and physical exerciseon elementary school teacher’s job satisfaction. A survey design was used in the current study. The sample consisted of 186 elementary school teachers from two towns of District Lahore. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences was used to analyze the data in the form of frequency, standard deviation,and percentages. The findings indicated that gender has no effect on elementary teachers’ job satisfaction. The qualification of teachers was not significantly associated with teachers’ job satisfaction. The experience effected teacher’s job satisfaction.The physical exercises were significantly associated with teachers’ job satisfaction. It was concluded from the findings that gender and subject of teaching had no effect on elementary teachers’ job satisfaction. It was recommended that elementary school teacher’s physical exercise sessions be given due consideration in the school induction as it showed an association with teachers’ job satisfaction.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan: budaya sekolah dengan kinerja guru; komunikasi dengan kinerja guru; budaya sekolah dengan komitmen; komunikasi dengan komitmen, komitmen dengan kinerja guru; budaya sekolah dengan kinerja melalui komitmen; komunikasi dengan kinerja guru melalui komitmen. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 250 orang guru di 100 Sekolah yang dipilih secara stratified proporsional random sampling dari populasi sebesar 2.276 orang guru yang tersebar di 274 SD Negeri di Kota Banjarmasin. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriftip dan analisi jalur. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa budaya sekolah memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja, komunikasi memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja, budaya sekolah memiliki hubungan dengan komitmen, komunikasi memiliki hubungan dengan komitmen, komitmen memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja guru, komitmen merupakan perantara hubugan budaya sekolah dengan kinerja guru dan hubungan komunikasi dengan kinerja guru. The sample consisting of 250 teachers from 100 schools was selected using the stratified proportional random sampling technique from a population of 2,276 teachers teaching in 274 state elementary schools in Banjarmasin Municipality. The data were collected using an instrument which had been validated and which was reliable. The data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis and the path analysis. The findings showed that there was relationship between: school culture and teachers’ performance, communication and performance, school culture and commitment, communication and commitment, commitment and teachers’ performance. Commitment became an intervening variable between school culture and teachers’ performance and between communication and teachers’ performance. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence with teacher job satisfaction. This study uses a survey method with correlational techniques. The population of the study was the teachers of SDN in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City with a sample of 150 people. The instrument used for data collection is a number of written questions with 4 variations of answer choices. The instrument item validation was tested using product moment correlation, while the instrument reliability test was calculated using the Alpha Conhbach formula. The results showed that (1) there was a significant relationship between spiritual intelligence and job satisfaction of State Elementary School teachers in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City. (2). There is a very strong relationship between spiritual intelligence and job satisfaction of State Elementary School teachers in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City. (3). There is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence together with job satisfaction of State Elementary School teachers in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City. The results of this study are expected to be useful for improving work stress, emotional intelligence and personality of State Elementary School teachers in West Dumai District, Dumai City. The conclusion of this study shows that job satisfaction can be reduced through increasing emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence either alone or together.

Alcohol consumption is considered a global problem, principally affecting adolescents. In this context, the aims of this study were to identify the pedagogical strategies developed by elementary school teachers in the approach to alcohol with adolescents; To analyze the attitudes, beliefs, values and practices of the elementary school teachers in relation to alcohol; To discuss the repercussions of the attitudes, beliefs, values and practices of the teachers about alcohol in the dialogue with the students and in the implementation of the strategies referred to above. This was a qualitative study performed with 26 teachers of a Rio de Janeiro public school. The data were analyzed through thematic content analysis and grouped into 5 categories. It was concluded that social imaginary and attitudinal construction of the teachers directly interferes with the personal and professional practice and has repercussions in the quotidian life of the students. It was noted that the focus should not just be on the students, but on the relationship of the teachers with their pedagogic strategies.
