HighlightKnowing the amount of daily calcium neededKnowing utilization of fish bone meal and its processed productsAnalysis of the most preferred types of food and fish speciesAbstractGourami (Osphronemus gouramy) is a type of freshwater fish native to Indonesia that is widely preferred, and has high economic value so that production per year increases. Increasing the amount of fish production will result in an increased amount of fish bone waste. However, the processing of gourami in general is still limited to using the meat for frying, grilling, filling, and making shredded fish, while the fish bones are not widely used. Several studies have shown that fish bones that are made into flour contain high calcium. Food processing from fish bone flour can be used as an alternative to meet daily calcium intake. Several stud- ies have started to use fish bone flour to become processed food with calcium such as baked donuts, starch balls, and biscuits, but there are still many other foods from the different regions that need to utilize the fish bone as one of their ingredi- ents. The purpose of this study was to analyze the understanding of the community members, and newcomers in Purbalingga regarding the use of fish bone flour, and its processed products, calcium content, also to know their favorite snacks, and types of fish. The results of the survey analysis stated that it is necessary to use Gourami fish bone flour in making calcium dumplings and its resistance to oxygen.

Fish bone is a trash which has economic value that has not got much attention from both government and society. Although the researchers has examined much the beneft of the fsh bone in the laboratory, but it has not been socialized well. Terefore, social empowerment in transfer knowledge is necessary to be done, so the real beneft can be felt widely. Transfer knowledge about fsh bone waste manufacture to society becomes the study focus in UMT Terengganu. Te study was done in the factory of Lekor crackers by promoting participation. Te frst objective of the study is providing community care to the beneft of fsh bone as organic calcium which has high quality. Te second study of this research also seeks to provide learning to the society in manufacturing the fsh bone waste serve as hydroxyapatite. Te third objective is to provide transfer knowledge to society to make use of hydroxyapatite which comes from fsh bone waste to be consumed because it contains high nutrition namely calcium, phosphor and carbonate. Te fourth objective is for environment management so that it is free from pollution of fsh bone waste. Te approach used in this study is social engineering namely integrates between social and technology approaches of fsh bone waste manufacture which needs mechanic process. Social approach is needed to arouse community care of the beneft of participation in manufacture and the beneft of fsh bone waste in Lekor crackers area. Meanwhile, engineering approach is needed for the process of laboratory research towards fsh bone waste, and for the process of simplifcation fsh bone manufacture, so it can be adopted by society at large. Kata kunci : nilai ekonomi, pemanfaatan, limbah, isu lingkungan, konsep 3R (Reuse, Recyle dan Recovery) Abstract This paper aims to outline the economic value of the use of palm oil waste towards Zero Waste Production. One hectare of oil palm, annually produce 25 tonnes of fresh fruit bunches (FFB), whereas the oil and palm kernel only about 25%, so 19 tonnes of FFB would be a waste. With the developed environmental issues will require the use and control of industrial waste environmentally friendly palm oil in order to provide added value and reduce costs, which in turn provide benefits to various parties, both the plantations, factories, communities and the environment. The concept of 3R (Reuse, Recycle and Recovery) will encourage each waste generator to make the waste has economic value and reduces costs. Utilization of oil palm waste can reduce the production cost of electricity, charcoal, pulp raw materials, animal feed, and saves the cost of fertilizer. Keywords: economic value, utilization, waste, environmental issues, the concept of 3R (Reuse, Recycle and Recovery)

Zero waste is an ethical, economical, efficient and visionary goal, to guide people in changing their lifestyles and practices in imitation of a sustainable natural cycle, where all materials that are no longer used are designed to be a resource for others to use (en. m.wikipedia.org). Problems related to waste in Sandik Village are: 1. Non-organic waste is relatively widely scattered in the Sandik Village environment; 2. The waste bank is not yet operational; 3. People do not know much about non-organic waste which can be used as raw material for creative products that have a selling value; 4. The Sandik Village PKK Team does not have the skills to process non-organic waste into handicraft products with economic value. The aim of this service is to empower the Sandik Village PKK Driving Team in processing non-organic waste into goods that have economic value. The service method is carried out with lectures, discussions, and technical training on processing non-organic waste into products with sale value. The results of the activity: there were several participants who were able to make products at the end of the training; Participants were willing and enthusiastic to pass it on to other mothers around the village. It can be concluded that this service activity was successful, as shown by: Participants were able to sort between organic and non-organic waste and increased participants' knowledge about some of the non-organic waste that they produce every day can be used and processed into useful and economic value items

The main purpose of this research is to analyze the economic value added of shredded and catfish flour production based on zero waste principle in Sekarwangi village, Sukabumi. The data used in this study are primary data where data is obtained directly from responden that is collected through interviews. This research was conducted for approximately two months. The process of changing from catfish to other products in the form of shredded and catfish flour gives added value both economically and to the benefit of environmental sustainability. The results of data processing show that processing raw material for unproductive catfish into shredded and catfish flour can provide economic value added Rp 19,500 for shredded from every 3 kg of catfish and 30,000 for catfish flour from every 5 kg of catfish bones. The application of zero waste technology in the production of shredded and catfish flour is to utilize all parts of catfish without any waste. The principle of zero waste is an environmentally friendly activity.

Animals in Florida provide a variety of benefits to people, from recreation (fishing, hunting, or wildlife viewing) to protection of human life and property (oysters and corals provide reef structures that help protect coasts from erosion and flooding). By measuring the economic value of these benefits, we can assign a monetary value to the habitats that sustain these species and assess the value that is lost when development or other human-based activities degrade animal habitat. This 5-page fact sheet presents the results of a study that assessed the value of protecting five animal species in Florida and showed the economic value of protecting animal habitat.
