Abstract and annotation as an element of bibliographic description in the iSybislaw databaseAbstract (sometimes called summary) of a scientific publication is a brief text that contains keywords. It is one of the elements of a bibliographic description in the bibliographic database iSybislaw – a modern information retrieval system. In the paper definitions of terms such as abstract, annotation and summary along with their constitutive elements are presented. A characteristics of such short texts inserted in the iSybislaw database in the fields Abstract and Abstract 2 is also given. Based on some examples excerpted from the iSybislaw system a typology of short texts, which are elements of the database bibliographic description, is proposed. The material allows to list three kinds of texts that are being used in the iSybislaw database: annotations, abstracts and biographic annotations. Abstrakt i adnotacja jako element opisu dokumentu w bazie iSybislawPrzedmiotem analizy artykułu są krótkie teksty, które stanowią jeden z elementów opisu bibliograficznego w systemie wyszukiwawczym iSybislaw. W praktyce naukowej używane są różne terminy odnoszące się do takich tekstów (abstrakt, adnotacja, streszczenie). Autor podaje ich definicje oraz wskazuje elementy konstytutywne. Na podstawie przykładów wyekscerpowanych z systemu iSybislaw przedstawia ich typologię oraz omawia miejsce i funkcje w opisie bibliograficznym.

This chapter is a basic introduction to text information retrieval. Information Retrieval (IR) refers to the activities of obtaining information resources (usually in the form of textual documents) from a much larger collection, which are relevant to an information need of the user (usually expressed as a query). Practical instances of an IR system include digital libraries and Web search engines. This chapter presents the typical architecture of an IR system, an overview of the methods corresponding to the design and the implementation of each major component of an information retrieval system, a discussion of evaluation methods for an IR system, and finally a summary of recent developments and research trends in the field of information retrieval.

With recent advances in wireless communication technologies, the world of mobile computing is flourishing with a variety of applications. This paper presents a mobile product information retrieval system that supports collaborative work among remote users. With the development of the system, a knowledge representation framework has been adopted which accommodates semantic relationships and similarity of product data. To illustrate the system developed, a case study in information retrieval for product design is presented．

The paper presents the structure of a multilingual dictionary of keywords, which is an integral part of the bibliographic database of Slavic linguistics iSybislaw representing the digital information retrieval system (www.isybislaw.ispan.waw.pl). The lexical units (keywords) of the language of keywords used in the system are represented primarily by linguistic terms. In spite of a different denotation – the keywords directly denote sets of documents, and indirectly the non-documentary reality, while the terms denote elements of linguistic reality – they are formally equal with linguistic terms, which allows them to map the semantic field of a particular discipline, in this case Slavic linguistics. The dictionary is therefore a domain-based online specialist dictionary, which is a tool for users of the bibliographic database of Slavic linguistics. The dictionary is addressed to all those who deal with linguistics and linguistic terminology, first of all to scholar-linguists, Ph.D. students and students of philologies, as well as translators of academic papers in the field of linguistics.

This model helps to increase communication between Police and public. It will reduce time & increase the problem solving efficiency in time period it will be more helpful. In this admin is key person, user(police) is also have secure registration & public can communicate with all other users through mail. Here we are going to use clustering technique because it more powerful to forming accurate cluster, speed of creating cluster, identifying crime trend & crime zone ,crime density of state.
