The Internet of Things (IoT) is an array of interrelated registering gadgets, mechanical and advanced electronics machines, articles, creatures or individuals that are given with unique identifiers and the ability to exchange data over a system without man to man or man to PC partnership. IoT created an expanded enthusiasm to research and industrial into points of view. This development is due to the availability of low-priced, low-powered diminutive elements like processors, communications and sensors that were integrated on a single chip. In this work we design the low power microcontroller for IoT application. There are various microcontrollers available in the market for IoT application, we have done the comparative study of different microcontroller and proposed a low power microcontroller architecture based on the requirement of IoT. The power analysis is carried out by calculating power consumed in the different digital circuits with ALU and without ALU.

In the last years, the Internet of Things (IoT) has emerged as a key application context in the design and evolution of technologies in the transition toward a 5G ecosystem. More and more IoT technologies have entered the market and represent important enablers in the deployment of networks of interconnected devices. As network and spatial device densities grow, energy efficiency and consumption are becoming an important aspect in analyzing the performance and suitability of different technologies. In this framework, this survey presents an extensive review of IoT technologies, including both Low-Power Short-Area Networks (LPSANs) and Low-Power Wide-Area Networks (LPWANs), from the perspective of energy efficiency and power consumption. Existing consumption models and energy efficiency mechanisms are categorized, analyzed and discussed, in order to highlight the main trends proposed in literature and standards toward achieving energy-efficient IoT networks. Current limitations and open challenges are also discussed, aiming at highlighting new possible research directions.

The low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) paradigm is gradually gaining market acceptance. In particular, three prominent LPWAN technologies are emerging at the moment: LoRaWAN™ and SigFox™, which operate on unlicensed frequency bands, and NB-IoT, operating on licensed frequency bands. This paper deals with LoRaWAN™, and has the aim of describing a particularly interesting feature provided by the latest LoRaWAN™ specification—often neglected in the literature—i.e., the roaming capability between different operators of LoRaWAN™ networks, across the same country or even different countries. Recalling that LoRaWAN™ devices do not have a subscriber identification module (SIM) like cellular network terminals, at a first glance the implementation of roaming in LoRaWAN™ networks could seem intricate. The contribution of this paper consists in explaining the principles behind the implementation of a global LoRaWAN network, with particular focus on how to cope with the lack of the SIM in the architecture and how to realize roaming.

<span>The Internet of Things (IoT) is predicted to be one of the major megatrends in technology that applies worldwide including in Malaysia. Current advantages and expectations of using a connected device has become a reason to use applications in many areas, including the field of retail industry. The evolvement of technology has changed the retail landscape that replaces the manpower in their operations to improve the efficiency, quality and work ethics. Hence, this paper discussed comparative study of technology innovation applied and process flow in unmanned store from different country. Next, prototype of unmanned store apps was designed according to the most preferred technology based on the comparative study. IoT retailer model can be used to improve the retail experience for the customers. Thus, it may perform strategic marketing and gain retail intelligence. Besides, the revolution of using technology in this retail industry is contributing towards Industry 4.0 through digital transformation.</span>

The Internet of Things (IoT) is formed by a set of physical objects with embedded sensors, connected using a network so that they can collect and exchange data. Though the concept looks simple, its deployment in industry has enormous potential to bring major business benefits and radical change. This chapter examines IoT technology and how it is being used in the corporate environment. Based on a review of existing literature and case examples, the various definitions and elements of IoT are discussed, followed by an assessment of how IoT is being used and what benefits are being delivered. Some key emergent themes are then examined – security aspects, the significance of 5G networks, and the need for an IoT strategy and project implementation guidelines. The chapter concludes by outlining possible areas for future research and suggests a step-change in the mega-infrastructure connecting IoT devices is imminent.
