From the perspective that the world's peoples are not equally endowed with natural resources, wealth or opportunity and that its population will not only continue to increase for the foreseeable future, but will expect to enjoy a better quality of life, this article reviews the role that agriculture, and meat production and consumption in particular will play, the prospective options available and the policy determinants that will need to be considered.

Given the demographic realities in the developing world, it is not possible to solve the problems of poverty in these countries following the neoclassical model of economic growth. Since the majority of people are ruralites in these countries, the focus should be on rural development directly rather than on waiting for the benefits to trickle down to the rural poor. What is needed is to improve the quality of life and productivity of the small-holders or landless whose livelihood is based on natural resources which are depleting and require urgent attention. More options should be available for the rural people in their own area.

Las crecientes demandas que se producen de forma natural y otras por política de los órganos decisores en función de alcanzar la satisfacción de las crecientes necesidades de la población, imponen más y más exigencias a todas las organizaciones de la estructura de la sociedad. Las contextualizaciones obligan a los gestores a proyectar las alternativas más efectivas para asumir las exigencias de los cambios, sean esos de índole organizacional, estructural, funcional, u otro. El Tablero Estratégico para el Cambio (TEC), es una herramienta para la transformación y el desarrollo, para la actuación colectiva, simple por áreas y de acciones personales bien orientadas, las que necesitan de escribirse y de constituirse en un documento orientador de las transformaciones. En las organizaciones, donde son diversas, convergentes, simples y complejas las acciones a cumplir, sí es muy importante tenerla bien escritas, bien definidas y bien orientadas hacia los objetivos colectivos. Palabras clave: Visión integral para el cambio desde el Tablero Estratégico, movilidad de la organización institucional promovido desde el tablero estratégico, la conquista de la efectividad una misión para mejorar la calidad de vida. ABSTRACT The increasing requests that are  produced spontaneously and another one for policy of the organs decision makers in terms of attaining the satisfaction of the increasing needs of the population, they force more and more on requirements all of the organizations of the structure of the society. All country, with his natural resources and his social and productive infrastructures, with his roads of interior commerces and exteriors, affected his administrative and entrepreneurial institution is forced in the position of constant way to contextualizar for the various universal crises that today they coexist. The Strategic Chessboard for the Change, a tool for transformation and development, for the collective, simple acting for areas and actions in personam well guided, they are in need of writing to each other and of getting constituted in a guiding document of transformations. In the organizations, where actions are various, convergent, simple and complex to do one's job, definitely you are very important to have it good written, clear-cut and very guided toward the collective objectives. Keywords: Integral vision for the change from the Strategic Board, mobility of the institutional organization promoted from the strategic board, the conquest of the effectiveness a mission to improve the quality of life.

It is difficult to separate western consumerism from excessive meat consumption and through globalization this culture is spreading through the planet to traditional places, such as Bangladesh and the Indian subcontinent. The chapter argues that the socio-economic and planetary cost of increasing meat consumption is clearly untenable and initiating a process that restores natural resources is imperative. A major objective of this chapter is to raise awareness about the consequences from unsustainable meat production and consumption and the negative implication from a Western type of diet. Drawing on the spiritual messages from the Baul philosophers, it makes the case that preserving traditional flexitarianism, defined here as meat in the absence of any other food options or rare ceremonial meat consumption, is essential for the health of the planet and its inhabitants.

This chapter aims to analyze the main factors of the production and consumption of organic products, as well as their policies and strategies. The analysis is based on the premise of the sustainable development of the production, distribution, and consumption systems of organic products that have the potential to improve the quality of life levels of producers, consumers, and society. It is concluded that the production and consumption of organic food is based on a more favorable agriculture of the ecological and the environment, as well as by providing more nutritious and healthy food for consumption.

Resumen: Históricamente los pueblos han desarrollado numerosos conocimientos útiles para la vida, saberes funcionales adaptados al territorio, compartidos y valorados por una comunidad. Su aplicación y transmisión son especialmente relevantes en la mejora de nuestra calidad de vida y la gestión los recursos naturales de una manera sostenible, especialmente en condiciones cambiantes e inciertas. Presentamos un estudio con enfoque de género e intergeneracional sobre la transmisión de Conocimientos tradicionales en la región de Andalucía Oriental en el que participaron mayores de Centros de Participación Activa y jóvenes universitarios. Cuestiones sobre práctica, origen y traspaso de Conocimientos tradicionales, así como sobre su componente sostenible han sido el centro de interés de esta investigación. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que las mujeres mayores son las principales practicantes, transmisoras y receptoras de estos conocimientos, especialmente los relacionados con la salud y los cuidados. Los datos revelan la existencia de una brecha generacional en cuanto a su práctica. El fin último de este trabajo se centra en proponer claves para fomentar la práctica y transmisión de los Conocimientos tradicionales sostenibles en programas de educación ambiental con enfoque de género.Abstract: Historically, people have developed many useful knowledge for life, functional knowledge adapted to the territory, shared and valued by a community. Its application and transmission are especially relevant to improve our quality of life and managing natural resources in a sustainable way, especially in changing and uncertain conditions. We present a study with a gender and intergenerational approach on the transmission of Traditional knowledges in the region of Eastern Andalusia, in which elderly people from Active Participation Centers and young university students participated. Questions about practice, origin and transfer of Traditional knowledge as well as its sustainable component have been the focus of this investigation. The results show that elder women are the main practitioners, transmitters and recipients of this Knowledge, especially those related to health and care. The data reveal the existence of a generation gap in terms of its practice. The last objective will be to propose keys to promote the practice and transmission of Traditional knowledge in environmental education and gender.

The research aims to discover the potential of local natural resources in improving the economic life by utilizing the indigenous communities’ local wisdom at the regency of Jayapura. Two local customary councils namely Sentani and Moi were used as samples. Data was collected by the interviews to both tribal leaders and heads of village, observation as well as secondary data analysis and analyzed by three stages: data reduction, presentation of the data and drawing conclusion. The results show that the livelihood of DAS Sentani is farming, fishing and taping sago where their natural resources are fish, sago, coconut, areca nut while that of DAS Moi is farming and livestock and the natural resources are gold and rock mines, tourist attraction, sago, durian and rambutan. Both indigenous communities have their local wisdoms that are believed to have rewards if they obey and sanctions or punishments if disobeyed. Some local government’s strategies are recommended to be done in order to help both communities to improve better quality of life.

There has been a growing scholarly interest in the links between natural resources and socio-economic development. While numerous studies offer robust evidence on the detrimental effects of natural resource dependence on economic outcomes, no study has robustly investigated the link between natural resource dependence and quality of life across countries. The aim of this study is to address this gap in the literature by investigating the relationship between natural resource dependency and social progress. Using the cross-country data from 143 countries for the period of 2012 to 2019, we find that resource rents are significantly and negatively linked to the Social Progress Index. Moreover, this effect remains robust even after controlling the potential transmission channels such as governance, economic development and human capital accumulation.
