In the presented work, the author examines the situation with Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, where they were forced to settle down after 1948. The article examines international and Lebanese documents, which made it possible to understand the status of the Palestinians. The work carried out by scientists in the fi eld is of interest, since they had the opportunity to conduct surveys and interviews. The author relied on a systematic approach in the presented study. The paper examines the social problems Palestinians face while living in refugee camps. The problems of access to basic needs, employment, marriage unions are noted. It also focuses on the issue of security for ordinary Palestinians, since the Lebanese security forces are unable to provide it, and Palestinian groups periodically feud with each other, which sometimes infl icts irreparable blow to the people. From the author's point of view, the problem of Palestinian refugees persists due to the complex confessional balance in Lebanon and is unlikely to be resolved in the foreseeable future, which endangers stability not only in the camps, but also in Lebanon itself.

The recent transformation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic crisis drives the world economy to an accelerated mutation. This chapter focuses on how the current developments affect the various socioeconomic organizations and systems and how they can adapt to this new emerging reality. To this end, relevant forecasts on the current pandemic crisis are examined. Τhis crisis seems to cause the acceleration of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, functioning as a catalyst of the structural changes also observed in the working environment. The chapter suggests that all socioeconomic organizations (irrespectively of their size, spatial reach, and sectorial focus) are called upon nowadays to readjust themselves and that innovation is the fundamental generator for exiting the ongoing structural crisis. However, innovation unavoidably creates significant changes that socioeconomic organizations must manage effectively in the foreseeable future, according to a new way of perceiving organizational resilience and adaptability for the post-COVID-19 era.

Abstract We use rational approximants to study missing higher orders in the massless scalar-current quark correlator. We predict the yet unknown six-loop coefficient of its imaginary part, related to Γ(H → b$$ \overline{b} $$ b ¯ ), to be c5 = −6900 ± 1400. With this result, the perturbative series becomes almost insensitive to renormalization scale variations and the intrinsic QCD truncation uncertainty is tiny. This confirms the expectation that higher-order loop computations for this quantity will not be required in the foreseeable future, as the uncertainty in Γ(H → b$$ \overline{b} $$ b ¯ ) will remain largely dominated by the Standard Model parameters.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken the world since early 2020 and its health, social, economic, and societal negative impacts at the global scale have been catastrophic. Since the early days of the pandemic, development of safe and effective vaccines was judged to be the best possible tool to minimize the effects of this pandemic. Drastic public health measures were put into place to stop the spread of the virus, with the hope that vaccines would be available soon. Thanks to the extraordinary commitments of many organizations and individuals from around the globe and the collaborative effort of many international scientists, vaccines against COVID-19 received regulatory approval for emergency human use in many jurisdictions in less than a year after the identification of the viral sequence. Several of these vaccines have been in use for some time; however, the pandemic is still ongoing and likely to persist for the foreseeable future. This is due to many reasons including reduced compliance with public health restrictions, limited vaccine manufacturing/distribution capacity, high rates of vaccine hesitancy, and the emergence of new variants with the capacity to spread more easily and to evade current vaccines. Here we discuss the discovery and availability of COVID-19 vaccines and evolving issues around mass vaccination programs.

Significance The decision to hold a hearing on this issue, rather than simply issue a decision, reflects a degree of concern about perceptions of the Court’s legitimacy following the transfer of the country’s currently polarised politics onto the Court through recent appointments. Impacts The conservative majority of the Supreme Court is so dominant that no liberal decisions are likely in the foreseeable future. Chief Justice Roberts will try on occasion to moderate the Court’s conservative decision-making but mostly without effect. The recent report from President Joe Biden’s commission on the Supreme Court will prove ineffectual. Upcoming cases will provoke a political backlash among voters and make Court reform a central preoccupation for some Democrats.

COVID-19 is a life-threatening virus taking the lives of thousands of people every day throughout the world. Even though many organizations and companies worked hard and developed vaccines, production of vaccines at large scale to meet today’s demand is not an easy job as there is a shortage of raw materials and cases are rising steeply. Inoculation of every individual cannot be achieved in the foreseeable future. Even the government is vaccinating people in a phased manner prioritizing older people and people who are more vulnerable to the virus. The main objective of this work is to provide an optimum solution for COVID-19 indoor safety for industries, offices, and commercial places where footfall is high. This work focus on automation of temperature sensing and mask detection which is usually carried out by a person. Elimination of human intervention reduces the risk of contraction and spreading and avoids mistakes due to human negligence. Continuous monitoring of a person is not possible and there is no guarantee that a person who is entering a place wearing a mask puts it on until he leaves it. This research intends to implement mask detection along with surveillance which is cost effective as it does not require additional hardware setup.

Using the concepts of developed in the volume, this chapter concludes the book by addressing three important questions about spirituality. Our approach foregrounds how spirituality is shaped by the interplay of context and practice and influenced by the distribution of material resources. On the question of the meaning of spirituality, we advance an explicitly relational approach that identifies the polysemous nature of “spirituality.” On the question of spirituality’s influence, we highlight the social mechanisms through which spirituality is likely to influence individual and public outcomes. Regarding the future of spirituality, we argue that spirituality, in both supernatural and secular forms, will endure for the foreseeable future because the conditions of late modernity will continue to create a demand for it.

This essay is about intrinsic planning parts that can alternate the enlarge of the particle that regulates our herbal cycles, the genome. Since the 1990s, first-class enchantment has been a focal factor of research. It commenced with the genome undertaking and will proceed to be an ambassador for the foreseeable future. The functions are many, and they are anticipated to have a significant speculative effect as properly as extraordinarily extreme hazards. The genome altering development trends have opened up the technique to truly zero in on and exchange genomic progressions in nearly all eukaryotic cells, whether or not they are planned or bacterial nucleases. Genome editing has loosened up our capacity to grant an explanation for the role of inherited qualities in infection with the aid of accelerating the development of increased right smartphone and models of animal of psychotic cycles, and it has begun to exhibit extraordinarily top achievable in a variety of fields, ranging from indispensable look up to utilized biotechnology and biomedical research. The late boom in the development of programmable nucleases, such as zinc-finger nucleases (ZFNs), file activator-like effector nucleases (TALENs), and assembled reliably interspaced quick palindromic repeat (CRISPR)– Cas-related nucleases, has accelerated the transition of fee from idea to medical practice. We observe the purposes of their subordinate reagents as quality-changing units in a range of human illnesses, and anticipated future medicines, which focuses on eukaryotic cells and animal models, in this evaluation of modern-day advances in the three critical genome-modifying propels (ZFNs, TALENs, and CRISPR/Cas9). Finally, we have a framework for clinical primers to use genome adjusting phases for sickness therapy, as nicely as some of the difficulties encountered throughout implementation.

As part of writing a short article entitled “Ship Design – From Art to Science?” [1] for the Institution’s 150th anniversary celebratory volume [2], the author consulted the Institution’s centenary book by K C Barnaby [3] to get a feel for the formative first hundred years of ship design recorded in the learned papers presented to the Institution. This consultation was motivated by consideration of the papers in the first volume of the Transactions of 1860, which, surprisingly, contained no papers directly on ship design, either on ship design in general or through describing the design intent behind a specific new ship. Rather, like the very first paper by Reverend J Woolley, the remaining 1860 papers concerned themselves with what could be called the application of science (and mathematics) to the practice of naval architecture as an engineering discipline. However this initial focus broadened out in subsequent volumes of the Transactions so that both technical descriptions of significant new ship designs and, more recently, papers on the general practice of ship design have also figured, alongside the presentation of progress in the science of naval architecture. Given that the vast bulk of ships built over this period have been designed like most buildings to a set pattern, or as we naval architects would say based on a (previous) “type ship”, those designs presented in the Institution’s Transactions, and the few other collections of learned societies’ papers, are largely on designs that have been seen to be of particular merit in their novelty and importance. Therefore this review looks at the developments in ship design by drawing on those articles in the Transactions that are design related. In doing so the papers have been conveniently broken down into the three, quite momentous, half centuries over which the Institution has existed. From this historical survey, it is then appropriate to consider how the practice of ship design may develop in the foreseeable future.
