The Success of Rosé Wine in France: The Millennial Revolution

Rosé wine consumption in France has tripled since 1992 and, in 2020, accounts for a third of the total national consumption. The objective of our article is to analyze the revolutionary success of rosé wine in France in the Millennial Generation. We mobilize the concept of social representation, which constitutes an understanding of the social transformations in progress for a given social group. We carry out in-depth qualitative research based on conversations with millennial rosé wine consumers. Our results show that the representations of rosé wine for this group are based on five dimensions: (a) product quality and refusal of sophistication, (b) color of the rosé wine, (c) freedom, (d) immediate pleasure and sharing with friends, and (e) its feminine personality. This transgressive capital explains the consumption behaviors of the Millennial Generation reflecting the group’s will to break traditional wine codes familiar to previous generational groups. This sociocultural model differs from that of the Baby Boomer Generation, which was marked by the valorization of terroir and sophistication and based on masculine archetypes and red wine. Rosé wine thus marks a generational and sociological break in the representations of wine in France, which we can describe as a rosé wine revolution in the 21st century. The predictive capacity of the Millennial Generation suggests a growth in rosé wine consumption in the years to come. We recommend to rosé wine producers seven strategic axes, which reconcile the point of view of the producer and the consumer.

Wine, in France, is a cultural product. However, the issue of wine consumption has been at the centre of a recurring social debate. We decided to focus our study on the effect of consumption practices on this social representation as well as the variations in position-taking in very different normative contexts. Results revealed two distinct social representations according to consumption practice. Moreover, Guttman effect in principal component analysis uncovered a unique phenomenon which showed that participants (consumer vs. non consumer) were inclined to act differently only in the case of polemical issues when they perceived the investigator as a consumer vs. non consumer. Indeed, in the case of hegemonic beliefs they were inclined to act in the same way and their answers were not influenced by the status of the investigator. Results are discussed around the question of the links between social representations and social identity.

AbstractMeaningful work is the subjective experience that work has meaning and is understood as an avenue for personal development, from a eudaimonic point of view. The aim of this study is to adapt the WAMI scale of meaningful work to Spanish, as well as to explore its relationship with job and life satisfaction. Two independent studies were developed. A first study analyzed the consistency of the original factorial model using a sample of Spanish varied workers (N = 350) through a confirmatory factor analysis. Results show an adequate replication of the original model and the validity of the Spanish version. A second study addressed the predictive capacity of the scale in relation to two satisfaction measures in a sample of Spanish health workers (N=312), through a mediation analysis. The relationship between meaningful work and job satisfaction is mediated by life satisfaction. The idea of meaningful work as a eudaimonic construct discards it as a variable resulting from or consequence of work, as it is an inherent part of occupational activity itself.

         This work aims to identify changes and trends that favor the students' learning style and autonomy, through a qualitative evaluation of the social representation of students in the development of individual and group activities. Questionnaire application and interviews were carried out at both the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás (PUC Goiás) and the Federal University of Goiás (UFG). The questionnaire is based on a 7-point Likert scale, which evaluates 13 items in four dimensions. After answering, each item is analyzed by the k-means clustering method, which groups the data unsupervised according to the levels of similarity of each item. With the result, we can point out what are the aspects that determine the skills and psychosocial profile of students, from this, it will be possible to make changes in the methodology applied to benefit the learning process of students, favoring multidisciplinary skills, the courage to face the students. challenges creatively, the ease of adapting to change, working as a team, valuing and understanding one's point of view - with commitment and ethics.

Islam entered the island of Java with the condition that the people already have traditions. One of the traditions that still exist today is Kungkum Purnama in Kalicawang, Banjarpanepen Sumpiuh Village, Banyumas District. The Kungkum Purnama tradition is carried out every year in the month of Sha’ban as a form of welcoming the month of Ramadan for Muslims. The implementation of the Kungkum Purnama tradition is followed by village communities who are not only Muslim, but also those who are non-Muslim or religious. It cannot be denied that the Muslim millennial generation is one of the heirs to tradition. This study aims to describe the response of the Muslim millennial generation to the kungkum purnama tradition. In practice, researchers used qualitative research methods of field research type. Data were collected by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis was carried out by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the Kungkum Purnama tradition is a form of acculturation of Islam with Banyumasan culture, which contains social and religious values, namely Islamic syiar, to welcome Ramadan, friendship, and clean oneself. The response of the Muslim millennial generation shows their view of the kungkum purnama tradition. From a religious perspective, the practice of the kungkum purnama tradition on the other hand contains teachings that are contrary to Islamic teachings. From a cultural point of view, the kungkum purnama tradition is a local tradition and a tourist attraction that needs to be preserved. From a social point of view, the kungkum purnama tradition contains the values of cooperation, mutual cooperation, and togetherness

Mashuri’s Hubbu is all about the life of a santri which was not always inline with the schools’ rules. This novel takes a picture of a failed santri. The main actor of the novel, Jarot, have had not succeed of holding the schools principles. He broke the rules when attending lectures in Surabaya. This is a sociology of literature point of view paper. It figures out the city’s social realities which change the life of the actor. It also identifies how the novel get its social basic. In this sense, Hubbu is a social representation of reality. The novel provides values dispute when a santri live in outer world which is actually his real life. He should adapt to this different environment without losing his previous status? He can also be rolled up by seculary values offered by the life of the city.

The analysis of the oeuvre of the outsider artist Alexander Lobanov (1924–2003) reveals the mechanisms of influence of Soviet visual propaganda. This article examines the total influence of ideology and visual narratives on an artist even when they seem to have been completely excluded from artistic life (in Lobanov’s case, due to his deaf mutism). The author refers to Irving Goffman’s self-presentation theory, the works on political power and its influence by Boris Groys, and the works of psychologists on the peculiarities of compensatory activity in the deaf and mute. The work is relevant as it reflects the importance of outsider artists as part of the art process. The author mostly refers to works by Lobanov in non-Russian and Russian private and institutional collections, as well visual propaganda from the Soviet period. Works by Lobanov and other Soviet outsider artists have not been studied from the perspective chosen by the article’s author. The artist’s oeuvre is examined by Élisabeth Anstett from the discourse point of view, connected with visual images from Soviet propaganda. The author of the article singles out the peculiarities of the appropriation by the outsider artist of the ideological visual narrative, the circle of borrowed images (militarism, hero, Stalin – “the father of nations”), and certain approaches (recurrence, ornamentality, and the presence of text). As a result of an artistic and formalist analysis, the author reveals specific borrowings of approaches and stylistics from the Soviet art (poster, illustration, and easel painting) of the 1930s to the mid‑1950s. Additionally, an important aspect of the study is that the author reveals the peculiar intellectualisation of compensatory mechanisms in the construction of social representation addressing the dominant images of visual Soviet propaganda. The interdisciplinary approach of the research, with certain exceptions, could be used to analyse the creative work of other Soviet outsider artists.

Developing and maintaining forest sustainably is a way to support sustainable development. From the technical point of view, the sustainability of community forest could be articulated not only based on the three aspects i.e. economic (ECO), social culture (SOC), ecology (EGY), but it can also include dimensions of legal & institutional (LIT), and accessibility & technology (ACT). This study aims to determine variables of sustainability dimensions that have a direct positive effect on the sustainability of the community forests (SCF), to identify variables that affect SCF and variables of sustainability dimensions that have  dominant effect on SCF. This study employed 70 samples of forest farmers’ group in Bogor regency. The respondents were purposively selected based on consideration of the criteria for forest farmer groups namely beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The Analysis tools used PLS-SEM. Sustainability dimensions of ECO, EGY, LIT, and ACT have a significant positive direct effect on SCF. The mediational hypothesis testing suggested that there is a partial mediation from ECO and EGY to SCF, which is consistent and have a positive value. Based on the coefficient value of the total-effect, among the five dimensions, ecology value was the biggest and the most robust. The policy implies that the ecological aspects considered the importance and strategy. Therefore, the value and productivity of the community forest structure and composition need to be maintained.

PurposeThe role of sustainability is predominant in many aspects of consumer purchasing decisions. Millennials and young people are, in this field, potential players who buy and consume wine with ecosustainable decisions but, in the literature, these aspects are analyzed with nonuniform findings. This paper aims to investigate the wine consumption among young people belonging to the millennial generation, Y generation and Z generation considering also the gender.Design/methodology/approachThis study uses a questionnaire with 2000 respondents. The data are analyzed to understand consumption decisions in the wine sector. This information is analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics (hypothesis test and multiple regression).FindingsThe results of the paper show a clear propensity to be sustainable of the young generation compared with the elderly, highlighting the role of Millennials. Moreover, considering gender, there is a greater sustainable wine tendency (considering both the environmental and the economic/decisional component) in female compared with male.Research limitations/implicationsThis work reflects the Italian reality of the pre-COVID-19 period. Obviously, the pandemic situation and the geographic scenario analyzed could change the results of a second wave of the survey.Social implicationsThis study contributes to improve the knowledge concerning the wine consumption habits of Italian young generations.Originality/valueThe paper manages to underline the different aspects of sustainability in the wine purchasing decisions by young consumers by focusing on the considered generations.

This paper has debated between fractional and two part models in the context of prepayment behaviour, applications where a large proportion of zero observations are typically found. The predictive capacity in this paper is to provider the direction of consideration and very good fit result to the behaviours of prepayment for bank. From the perspective of practitioners, it could point of view the characteristics of borrowers of each variable would seem to be choosing in this paper. This paper also provides the simply looking at the extent to which policy decision of bank conclusions would differ depending upon the characteristics of customers’ behaviour consideration.
