The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of transformational leadership and knowledge-sharing processes on operational and financial performance in Chinese firms. The article applied structural equation modeling to inspect the influence of transformational leadership on knowledge sharing and their effects on organizational performance, based on the data collected from 263 respondents in 112 manufacturing and service companies in China. The findings show that knowledge collecting and knowledge donating mediate the correlation between transformational leadership and two specific aspects of organizational performance. In addition, transformational leadership has a greater influence on financial performance, whereas knowledge sharing is more significantly associated with operational performance. This article highlights the significance of practicing transformational leadership to stimulate individuals’ knowledge-sharing behaviors, which are important prerequisites for improving organizational performance. The article provides clearer understanding for scholars and practitioners about the new and effective pathway to promote firm’s operational and financial performance.

Purpose - Leadership plays a decisive role in key organizational outcomes. To investigate the effects of leadership and its mechanism on organizational performance, this paper examined how transformational leadership impacts followers’ trust for improving operational and financial performance in the case of Vietnamese firms. Design/Methodology - This study used the Structural Equation Modeling to assess the correlation among the constructs based on using survey data of 285 employees at 60 manufacturing and service companies. Findings - The findings revealed that employees' trust in leadership acts as a mediating mechanism in the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational performance. The transformational leadership style of leaders has greater effects on financial performance, while employee’s trust has larger effects on operational performance. This study calls attention to the importance of raising employee trust to link transformational leadership and organizational performance. Practical and theoretical implications - From a practical point of view, the paper brings more knowledge and insights for CEO/managers on the right pathway to enhance organizational performance. The paper also provides theoretical initiatives on the leadership theory and the new pathway to promote operational and financial performance.

Transformational leadership has attracted extensive attention in management research. The influence of transformational leadership on organizational performance is an important aspect. Given the background where greater attention is being paid to transformational leadership in the banking industry, this research aimed to establish the degree of the influence of transformational leadership on organizational performance of micro finance institutions in Kenya. Questionnaires were used for data collection. They were analyzed via structural equation modeling. The findings reveal that organizational performance is positively influenced by transformational leadership (β= 1.505; p < 0.05). These findings remind managers of the need to pay close attention to transformational leadership, to cultivate organizational performance, and thereby to eventually improve employee’s sustainable performance.

The biggest challenge in nurturing an academic community is encouraging knowledge sharing among its members. Literature on communities, however, has paid less attention on the role of outcome expectations in encouraging the knowledge sharing behaviors. This study examines the effects of Personal Outcome Expectations (POE) and Community-related Outcome Expectations (COE) on the knowledge sharing behaviors of students and its consequent impact on their academic performance. In order to study these relationships a survey of university students was conducted. Based on structural equation modeling approach, it was found that COE have significant impact on knowledge sharing among the students.

This study investigated the relationships among managerial leadership, transformational leadership, and performance of school administrators of Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (NIPSC) through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Covariance-Based SEM (CB-SEM), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with its default Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) were used to test the hypothesized model that managerial leadership covary transformational leadership which were both related to the school administrators’ performance. Results revealed that of the eight alternative models, two equivalent models, one model generates every probability distribution that can be generated by another model, Model B3 and Model D3 were generated, got the smallest Alkaike Information Criterion (AIC) and Bayes Information Criterion (BIC) indicating that both models had relatively better fit. Model B3 and Model D3 have the same degrees of freedom but feature a different configuration of paths among the same variables. However, of the two equivalent models, model B3 was rejected due to discriminant validity concerns while model D3 passed both measurement model and structural model, model D3 was confirmed and retained. As contribution to the fields of education, management and leadership, the researcher confirmed and recommends, through CB-SEM using CFA with its default MLE, the Managerial Leadership and Performance as fully mediated by Transformational Leadership Model.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of knowledge management (KM) in terms of organizational performance using structural equation modeling. To enhance organizational performance, KM is used as a powerful strategic tool. The factors such as management commitment, leadership and organizational culture are the KM enabler’s conditions, and the step processes of KM are knowledge capture, creation, organizing/storing and transfer, and through this, KM is analyzed on organizational performance in the context of leathers manufacturing company. This study constructs with questionnaire consist of 34 variables. Design/methodology/approach There are about 101 samples that were collected through the questionnaire survey method in the leather companies in Ranipet. The data were collected from executives and associates in the leather companies. Data were analyzed using the SPSS tool and SMART PLS tool used for framing a research model and the hypothesized relationships were tested through partial least squares structural equation modeling technique. Findings The finding of this study is mandatory to implement a structured KM practice in the leather companies. Application of KM is quite an impact on organizational performance, which leads to profitability and productivity. Originality/value This is the first paper to empirically investigate the KM enablers, process and support for the role of KM practices at leather industry. Further, the positioning of KM practices as a strategic competitive tool can be considered as an influential factor to organizational performance.

Purpose This study aims to introduce adaptive performance as an organizational performance dimension and examine the possible dynamics between the dimensions of a learning organization and adaptive performance. Design/methodology/approach This study used a survey and applied factor analysis and structural equation modeling analysis. Findings The results supported adaptive performance as an organizational performance dimension. Also, the findings of this study empirically proved that perceived knowledge and adaptive performance mediate the positive relationship between a learning organization and perceived financial performance. Research limitations/implications In addition to the current Dimensions of a Learning Organization Questionnaire (DLOQ) studies, this study revealed that adaptive performance, one of the nonfinancial outcomes improved by learning, had a significant effect on financial performance. Also, this study provided evidence of the additional construct validity of the DLOQ, particularly its performance measures. Practical implications This study advises practitioners to take a close look at how learning and organization development activities improve organizational performance overall. Originality/value This study supported a claim that learning and organization development activities in organizations have a strong potential to induce variance in intangible performance.

Long term relationship with suppliers is broadly considered a vital contributor to supply chain performance by both practitioners and researchers. This paper investigates the role of long term relationship in strategic supplier partnership and financial performance (SSP-LR-P model). Specifically, it has observed the role of long-term supplier relationship as the driver of integration. Using structural Equation modeling (SEM) to analyze the data from 401 Saudi chemical and petrochemical firms, it is found that strategic supplier partnership has a significant direct and indirect effect on firms’ performance through the mediation of long term relationship.

This research is motivated by the number of Sea Transportation Service (JPT) companies operating in the port of Tanjung Emas which lost their revenue for 6 months in a row, resulting in the revocation of their permits. The inability to compete in the form of low operational performance leads to a decrease in financial performance. Some researchers believe that innovation in logistics is the most effective way of increasing competitive advantage and firm performance in the logistics industry. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationship between innovation in logistics, operation performance, and financial performance and the factors that influence innovation is strategic action and knowledge management orientation. The data were obtained from a questionnaire filled by 178 Sea Management Services (JPT) companies operating in the Port of Tanjung Emas Semarang. Data were analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS software. The result of the statistical analysis shows that directly strategic action and innovation in logistics have a positive and significant effect on operational performance. Indirectly knowledge management orientation has a positive and significant effect on operational performance through innovation in logistic.
