We present experimental evidence for the effects of electron-ion recombination on contrast formation in secondary electron (SE) images obtained using an environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM). Inclusion of the effects of SE-ion recombination in the theory of ESEM image formation accounts for contrast reversal observed, under appropriate conditions, in SE images of conductors (ie, in the absence of localized specimen charging) and of insulators that exhibit localized charging. Previously unexplained dynamic contrast caused by temporal charging can be understood if both conventional models of the effects of charging on SE emission, and the proposed role of SEion recombination in ESEM image formation are accounted for.In an ESEM, the extent of charging exhibited by insulating specimens can be controlled by varying the type and pressure (P) of the imaging gas, and operating parameters that determine the extent to which the gas is ionized (eg, detector bias, VGSED, and working distance, WD).

The purpose of the article is to study the system of lexical markers, characteristic of female image formation in the Soviet media of the Great Patriotic War period. Critical discourse analysis method is applied to investigating the leading Soviet newspapers publications devoted to the role of women in the Great Patriotic War. In total over 300 publications issued during 1941–1943 were selected for analysis according to keywords and thematic relevance. The system of lexical markers, comprising the unified female image creation ways, is defined and analyzed. Ideology domination and militarization are noted to have been essential for unified image formation in the Soviet newspaper discourse of the Great Patriotic War period. The paper reveals the markers that reflect the dynamics of female image transformation: from a rear toiler replacing the man who had left for the front in the first period, to the soldier, the woman capable of taking the place of the fallen fighter in next war period. Classification and description of the markers are presented. The author points out, that the unified image is viewed as the 'image-function' deprived of characteristic female features, traditionally represented in journalistic texts. A conclusion is drawn upon designing the unified 'image-function': it was worked out only pursuing propaganda goals, with the main one – mobilization of women on fight against the enemy threatening the very existence of the state.

Surabaya had a tourism industry sector that people was often known as Kenjeran Park Surabaya.Kenjeran Park was a potential tourism industry, because there was also a culinary tour thatsupportedpeople in spending holiday with their family. In 2017 in Kenjeran Park there is a newtheme park called Atlantis Land Surabaya. The researcher was interested in researching this researchbecause wanted to know the role of public relations Atlantis Land as a relatively new theme park inSurabaya to build its image and become an icon in Kenjeran Park’s.The literature review used is thepublic relations management process. This research used a qualitative approach and uses descriptivetypes of research. The results of this study indicated that there were some stages in the process ofKenjeran Park’s image formation, one of which was doing promotion that had a purpose to introducepublic about Atlantis Land Surabaya. Keywords: Role of Public Relations, Image, Atlantis Land

AbstractPeople are eager to know the self in other’s eyes even with personal costs. However, what drives people costly to know evaluations remains unknown. Here we tested the hypothesis of placing subjective value on knowing social evaluations. To quantify the subjective value, we developed a pay-to-know choice task where individuals trade off profits against knowing social evaluations. Individuals computed independent unknown aversion towards positive and negative social evaluations and placed higher values on knowing social evaluation on positive than negative aspects. Such a valence-dependent valuation of social evaluation was facilitated by oxytocin, a neuropeptide linked to feedback learning and valuation processes, by decreasing values of negative social evaluation. Moreover, individuals scoring high in depression undervalued positive social evaluation, which was normalized by oxytocin. We reveal the psychological and computational processes underlying self-image formation/update and suggest a role of oxytocin in normalizing hypo-valuation of positive social evaluation in depression.
