Abstract Background Leishmaniasis, a disease caused by a protozoan, causes numerous deaths in humans each year. After malaria, leishmaniasis is known to be the deadliest parasitic disease globally. Direct visual detection of leishmania parasite through microscopy is the frequent method for diagnosis of this disease. However, this method is time-consuming and subject to errors. This study was aimed to develop an artificial intelligence-based algorithm for automatic diagnosis of leishmaniasis. Methods We used the Viola-Jones algorithm to develop a leishmania parasite detection system. The algorithm includes three procedures: feature extraction, integral image creation, and classification. Haar-like features are used as features. An integral image was used to represent an abstract of the image that significantly speeds up the algorithm. The adaBoost technique was used to select the discriminate features and to train the classifier. Results A 65% recall and 50% precision was concluded in the detection of macrophages infected with the leishmania parasite. Also, these numbers were 52% and 71%, respectively, related to amastigotes outside of macrophages. Conclusion The developed system is accurate, fast, easy to use, and cost-effective. Therefore, artificial intelligence might be used as an alternative for the current leishmanial diagnosis methods.

The purpose of the article is to identify the problems of creativity of directors who have realized their artistic potential both in auteur cinema and in the space of the stage and to determine scientific guidelines that will contribute to a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of the filmmaker in the performing arts. Research methodology. Methods of scientific analysis, comparison, generalization, self-analysis of the artist were used in the elaboration of the theme. In addition, analytical and systematic methods were applied in their unity, which is necessary to study the art aspect of the problem. The scientific novelty of the study is to determine the universality of directing as a specific kind of artistic and aesthetic activity; in clarifying the interaction of performing and screen arts in the use of expressive means; in determining the features of the filmmaker's activity in the stage space through the adaptation of screen means in theatrical productions, which first became the subject of a special study; in the coverage, the activities of directors-authors who resorted to reforming the language of language and the language of stage production; in identifying the original principles of filmmaking and specific means of cinematic expression, which not only found a direct embodiment in films and contributed to the emergence of outstanding authorial films but also had a significant impact on the author's theatrical direction, which sought to visualize stage images. Conclusions. It is proved that the stage work of filmmakers-authors calls into question the theoretical postulates about the perniciousness of the intrusion of theater culture into screen works. It has been found that pictorial and expressive means provide a chronology of image creation (long shots, in-frame editing, acoustic, light, and shadow effects), the use of which in cinema is considered a high degree of skill, have their origins in the performing arts. Keywords: director-author, stage space, directing means, theater, screen.

The purpose of the article is to study the development of the directions of Ukrainian book art, the formation of new creative features in the European cultural space. The research methodology consists in the application of general scientific methods (analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction) and methods of art history (comparative, typological, descriptive). The scientific novelty lies in the study of book art, which has always been important in Ukrainian art. Conclusions. Today, we have a large amount of fine works in the genre of book illustrations. These works reflected both the history of the Ukrainian literature, history of the national graphic art, as well as the history of cultural progress of Ukraine in general. Thus, book art is an extremely fruitful object of study, an intersection point, where the complicated process of interaction of socio-political, spiritual, cultural and artistic and aesthetic factors is underway. Thus, Ukrainian book graphics in different periods reflected all European trends – modernism, symbolism, neo-primitive art, futurism, cubism, expressionism, constructivism, realism, surrealism, Art Deco, neoclassicism. The originality of the artistic language emerged through the use of traditional motifs and vanguard image creation tools. Keywords: research, culture, illustration, book, art, national traditions.

Abstract Human Activity Recognition is the most popular research area in the pervasive computing field in recent years. Sensor data plays a vital role in identifying several human actions. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have now become the most recent technique in the computer vision phenomenon, but still it is premature to use CNN for sensor data, particularly in ubiquitous and wearable computing. In this paper, we have proposed the idea of transforming the raw accelerometer and gyroscope sensor data to the visual domain by using our novel activity image creation method (NAICM). Pre-trained CNN (AlexNet) has been used on the converted image domain information. The proposed method is evaluated on several online available human activity recognition dataset. The results show that the proposed novel activity image creation method (NAICM) has successfully created the activity images with a classification accuracy of 98.36% using pre trained CNN.

The subject of the article relates to the use of social media in organizational activities aimed at creating a positive image of an organization. The image is an important element of the organization’s strategy—it shapes its distinctiveness, distinguishes it from competitors, and determines how the organization is perceived in the environment. Image is created at the interconnection between the organization and its stakeholders. A significant role in the process of shaping the image is played by marketing communication, which is subjected to increased virtualization due to the progressing digital transformation. The attributes of social media predestine them to be used in the process of image creation. The main purpose of this article is to assess the importance of social media in the process of managing the image of educational institutions. The rules of the market economy apply not only to business organizations but also increasingly to other types of organizations, including educational institutions. Following the example of enterprises, educational institutions must also build a positive image of the organization. In the presented empirical research results, the research subject was narrowed down to one type of educational institution, namely secondary schools. The research has shown that all analyzed schools use social media and the school’s website as tools to promote and build their image in the local community. Unfortunately, the effectiveness of using these tools is low.

The purpose of the study is to reveal methods of image creation in dynamic visual communications based on symmetry. Methodology. Research methodology is interdisciplinary. It is based on systems and synergistical approaches. They consider dynamic visual communications as an integral field of interaction between human and environment. We systematized design methods of the image creation of a visual message by using the system and functional, structural and dynamic, composition, artistic and image design-analyses according to the principles of symmetry. Results. We represent symmetry as a method of dynamic visual communications form and image creation. Symmetrical relations are formed at the object structure level (mirror symmetry and central symmetry), the process level (translational symmetry, multilevel central symmetry and radial symmetry) and environment level (scale invariance and recursion). Integrative basis strengthening allows forming the structure of the image content providing fusion with an environment. Rethinking of the design methods on the based on the principles of symmetry increases the efficiency of perception and visual communications dynamic in the context of changeable external conditions. Scientific novelty. In the research we rethought the role of symmetry in dynamic visual communications design based on the systems approach for the first time. It is well-proven that the symmetric transformations support increasing of aesthetic, functional and communicative qualities of dynamic visual information. Practical significance. Research materials can serve as basis for harmonization and optimization of the form and content of different visual communications types. Their image structurization according to the principles of symmetry provides new development strategies of the integrated visual communications. It is important to increase perception efficiency in the conditions of continuously growing information volumes. Researched design methods of visual communications symmetric structures can be used by specialists in order to arrange the modern space. We also use them as the basis for designers’ system thinking forming as an educational technology.

The image of the EU and Europe in digital mass media of Ukraine, Belarus and Russia is studied in this article using the methodology of discourse analysis. Independent digital mass media Ukrainska Pravda, Nasha Niva, Lenta.ru, Novaya Gazeta are analysed (online publications from years 2005–2019). Three images of Europe in the media are indicated as a result of the research. In Ukraine: a strong reliance on Europe as the idea is observed. The EU and its institutions are stably present in political news, but European politicians are not so popular. In Belarus: Europe doesn’t structure political discussions, however, efforts of the neighbouring EU Member States may be important in the image creation. In Russia: there is not much interest towards Europe, but some approaches to present constant clashes between Russia and the West are evident in digital mass media. The research has confirmed the main hypothesis, which supposed that the mechanisms of creating the image of Europe and the EU in post-Soviet countries’ mass media are different, and the specifics of political discourse, as well as the states’ international politics define the image.

The article reveals the main psychological and pedagogical features of effective learning. The memorization techniques from Joshua Foyer are considered, where the author introduces the concept of the idea of a palace of images, or a palace of memory, which contains images, associations created in the last lesson, related to the past theme. If there is a purpose and meaning of memorization, then the process of reproduction will be more efficient and simpler. The significance and role of the image in the theory of the modern scientist V.V. Klimenko. The image is considered as a reflection of the subject and a standard-regulator of cognitive, moral actions and aesthetic actions.Emphasis is placed on the prominent role of restorative exercises and interval repetitions in the study of the concept of effective learning. The article states that effective learning requires the skill to praise students correctly and carefully. Praise as a means of motivation becomes productive if it is skillfully used in pedagogical communication, establishing more emotional interaction between teacher and students. It is emphasized that effective learning will give results when teachers pay attention to the importance of perception of the student’s point of view, his thoughts, impressions, judgments, motives. The main, in this aspect, is psychological reasoning – non-cognitive factors that affect learning. The more often students begin to think about the learning process, the results of their actions, successes in the study of certain topics, categories, concepts – the more effective, and most importantly, conscious will be the learning process. Emphasis is placed on the category of “growth thinking”, which is interpreted as the belief that abilities and intelligence are variable, and we can increase their level. The concepts of associations, the process of image creation, on the basis of which thought is built, are studied. Emphasis is placed on the important role of the teacher’s emotional response, which should meet the learning objectives and encourage students to further success and learning outcomes. The category of metacognition as a process of thinking about one’s own thoughts, effective reception of learning is considered. The theory of the American scientist Carl Rogers on the important questions that true professional and wise teachers should ask themselves is highlighted.Key words: learning, teacher, growth thinking, motivation, emotional response, metacognition.

Abstract Modeling helps to investigate and analyze the interrelationships of grinding parameters as a single system. The article describes a computer model of the surface layer of a grinding wheel, taking into account the cutting modes and characteristics of the circle. The subsystem of the surface layer of the grinding wheel is the most important subsystem of grinding, since it connects the main characteristics of the circle with the cutting modes and with the parameters of the workpiece. The output characteristics of the model are the parameters of the working layer with a height of several micrometers, in which micro-cutting occurs. It is impossible (or very difficult) to obtain them by conducting full-scale experiments, since the processes are instantaneous, and the cutting elements have micro-dimensions. This problem was solved by creating a simulation stochastic model based on the geometric representation of the surface layer, which clearly displays the result. The analysis of the image of this model allowed us to numerically describe the output parameters of cutting. The article offers a faster algorithm for analyzing the image of the simulation model of the surface layer. It is carried out over a matrix containing numerical information about the projection of the surface layer, the main parameters of each single slice are calculated, and only after that the result is displayed on the graphic screen. To simulate a single grinding mode, it is necessary to repeat the process of "image creation - image analysis– output of results" hundreds of times until a stable state is reached. The use of the algorithm in an automated system will allow you to create a system for automatically searching for optimal grinding modes, as well as to derive analytical dependencies of cutting modes on input parameters, for example, on the parameters of the circle and the workpiece.
