Introductions. Lymphedema is an interstitial accumulation of protein-rich lymph fluid, due to the post-therapeutic alteration of lymphatic circulation in the upper limb. The appearance of lymphedema is favoured by a number of risk factors. All of these factors ultimately lead to a process of tissue fibrosis. Materials and methods. This study was carried out in an outpatient regimen, for a period of 12 months, in the kinetotherapy room, using massage elements for lymphatic drainage and kinetotherapy technique. The study group included 15 patients aged 27-65 years. Results and discutions. Patients evaluated the quality of life after surgery based on the physical and mental symptoms, which is why anxiety, pain reduction through massage and kinetotherapy give patients self-confidence as well as confidence in the recovery process. Conclusions. This complex programme that includes lymphatic drainage massage methods and kinetotherapy techniques should be applied individually, progressively, under the control of the kinetotherapist. Key words: lymphedema, kinetotherapy technique, lymphatic drainage massage,

BACKGROUND & AIM The body of evidence related to higher incidence of breast cancer related lymphedema after breast surgeries concluded compromise Quality of Life (QoL) among women over the past decade. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) in improving QoL among women with Breast cancer related Lymphedema. STUDY DESIGN & PARTICIPANTS A Quasi Experimental study was conducted on women of the age 36-60 years with stage I and II breast cancer related lymphedema at Rehabilitation Department of a tertiary care Hospital. METHODS Total 70 women recruited with lymphedema were assessed at baseline and after treatment on Lymphedema Life Impact Scale. Manual lymphatic drainage technique was applied for 3 days in a week for 6 weeks with a compression bandage for first 4 weeks. RESULTS The findings showed that Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) technique significantly improves the Lymphedema Life Impact Scale score after intervention p <0.05 notably in psychological domain of the scale p=0.0001 furthermore, the percentage of impairment was also reduced significantly from 75.98% to 44.18%.

Objective: To investigate the effect of advanced nursing on the quality of life and the prevention of complications in patients with breast cancer undergoing PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) chemotherapy. Methods: From January 2017 to January 2020, 98 patients with breast cancer undergoing PICC chemotherapy in our hospital were divided into control group and study group by random sampling. The patients were given routine nursing and advanced nursing intervention on the basis of routine nursing. The psychological status, complications and quality of life of the patients were compared. Results: There was no significant difference in HAMA, HAMD score and QLQ-30 score before nursing (P > 0.05). The scores of HAMA and HAMD in the study group after nursing were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05), the scores of QLQ-30 were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05), and the complication rate was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The intervention of advanced nursing mode in patients with breast cancer treated with PICC chemotherapy can effectively alleviate the influence of negative emotion on chemotherapy, reduce the occurrence of complications and improve the quality of life. This mode has high clinical value.

Breast cancer is the most frequently occurring type of cancer among the female population. As a result, it poses a serious social problem, being subject to various scientific research and analysis. The topic of this thesis is an assessment o f a c o m p l e x r e h a b i l i t a t i o n o f lymphedema that occurs among females after mastectomy, which is the most frequent postoperative complication in this group of patients. The purpose of this thesis is an assessment of the quality of rehabilitation of patients and its effectiveness but also a recognition of the preferences concerning types of treatment. The analysis was divided into two parts: theoretical and explanatory. The research was conducted among m e m b e r s o f “ B i ł g o r a j s k i e Stowarzyszenie Amazonek” (The Amazons' Association in Biłgoraj) and Stowarzyszenie “Rzeszowski Klub Amazonek” (The Amazons' Club in Rzeszów). The first part includes an outline of cancer disease, its risk factors and methods of treatment. The explanatory part includes an answer to the hypothesis concerning the level of complex rehabilitation, its accessibility and effectiveness. The research shows that complex rehabilitation is a crucial element of the holistic treatment of cancer patients because it reduces the risk of complications, improves psychophysical conditions of patients and increases the chances of full recovery. The research outcomes demonstrate that the most frequently used treatment in the therapy of lymphedema is lymphatic drainage but also physiotherapy and kinesiotherapy treatments.

Abstract Lymphedema is defined as a persistent increase of tissue volume caused by the blocked or absent lymphatic drainage. The purpose of this study is to analyse the effectiveness of lymphatic drainage in the treatment of lymphedema after a mastectomy, with the aim of reducing the volume of the lymphedema and improving overall symptomatology, as well as providing information regarding the impact of this treatment on quality-of-life and the physical limitations of these patients. With these objectives in mind, a series of articles evaluating the effectiveness of manual lymphatic drainage in the case of patients with breast cancer and lymphedema have been studied. The parameters under observation were: duration of lymphedema reduction and improved symptomatology (pain, a feeling of swelling of the upper limb, functional limitation, and patient dissatisfaction towards their body image). Following this analysis, one can conclude that the association of manual lymphatic drainage to physical exercise and physiotherapy has produced changes in the volume of the limb affected by the lymphedema; however, its isolated use has not resulted in significant changes

Adjuvant radiotherapy is indicated for patients with conservatively or radically operated breast cancer, demonstrating the benefit of this type of treatment for local recurrence rate and survival. Radiodermatitis are radiation-induced skin reactions, a significant side effect of cumulative ionizing radiation in significant doses at the skin level during the treatment of various tumor localizations. This study presents aspects regarding prevention and treatment of radiodermatitis in patients with adjuvant irradiated breast cancer treated in the Regional Institute of Oncology Iasi. In the study group, use of gentian violet has helped to alleviate these side effects of irradiation, both in intensity and duration, with an important impact on the quality of life of the patients.
