The technology of finish plasma strengthening (FPS) with the multi-layer nano-coating of the Si-O-CN system as applied to the friction surface strengthening in spherical journal bearings is considered. This method relates to the processes of tubeless chemical precipitation of coatings at atmosphere pressure with the use of volatile fluids of element-organic compounds and gas environment with the simultaneous activation of a surface by electroarc plasma. The essence and distinguishing features of FPS are analyzed. Tribological characteristics of an applied wear resistant antifriction coating are investigated which stipulate for wear resistance increase in spherical journal bearings.

In the paper there is considered a problem of wear-resistance increase in parts operating in hydrogen environment. The dependence of friction surface wear taking into account their sub-roughness and hydrogen existence is shown. A technology for a friction couple wear-resistance increase is offered including surface layer granularity decrease, the reduction of hydrogen content in an inter-grain space and the introduction in the structure of parts surface layers the elements allowing filling up an inter-grain space. The results of comparative wear tests for different technologies for wear-resistance increase are shown. It is defined that the technology offered allows increasing wear-resistance in friction surfaces in machine parts. A method for account of hydrogen existence in an inter-grain space is offered and a reasonable method for obtaining a numerical value of a factor taking into account hydrogen presence used for theoretical computations.

The causes of hydrogen wear of the friction surfaces involved in hydrocarbon transfer and distillation processes are considered. Some technological methods for reducing the hydrogen wear of parts and friction units operating in hydrocarbon environment are given. A comprehensive technology for obtaining the properties of the surface layer is proposed, which provides an increase in the wear resistance of a friction pair and smoothing the surface roughness. The increase in wear resistance is based on several mechanisms: (1) decreasing biographical hydrogen due to the dehydration process; (2) smoothing surface irregularities by saturating the surface with silicon; (3) reducing the diffusion capacity of the steel surface caused by diffusion siliconizing; (4) reducing grain size of the material. Comparative wear tests were carried out, which showed the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Abstract In this paper, the qualification and the principle of operation of mud pumps are considered. The analysis of the malfunction of the hydraulic part of the pump is also considered. The importance of the work is due to the fact that it was proposed to introduce a support and sealing part of the cuff made of a material of different hardness. The working conditions of the drilling pump from the adopted drilling technology are also considered. An experiment was conducted with the help of which the dependence of the degree of wear of the seal on time was revealed, depending on the material. The importance of the work is due to the fact that the introduction of the support and sealing part of the cuff from a material of different hardness was proposed.

Currently, ceramic chokes are used for the adjustment of fluid discharge (gas) in the structures of production trees in oil wells of oil-gas production departments. The metals, plastic masses and other structural materials are used for the manufacturing. It was defined that compared to the other details of production tree the resource of these chokes are significantly less. For the increase of their operational life as the material the usage of nanostructured chokes, the manufacturing technology and the application results are offered. With the purpose of wear resistance increase of chokes, the manufacturing technology was improved and nanostructured chokes usage recommended. Nanostructured chokes were tested in 386 wells overall and showed high results.
