Objetivo: refletir sobre a Teoria Fundamenta nos Dados (TFD) ou Grounded Theory, como recurso metodológico para pesquisas qualitativas em enfermagem. Conteúdo: utilizou-se como base para a discussão o diálogo entre autores convergentes com os pressupostos da TFD que caminham pelo avesso do roteiro metodológico clássico da pesquisa qualitativa. Duas linhas argumentativas foram desenhadas para que a reflexão acontecesse: a primeira a partir do método TFD propriamente dito e a segunda sobre os saberes na pesquisa em enfermagem. Conclusão: a atual conjuntura impõe o compromisso do pesquisador de enfermagem com as necessidades de saúde da população e com o Sistema Único de Saúde, requerendo estratégias de enfrentamento dos problemas viáveis, eficazes, eficiente e resolutivas. A TFD é uma delas, instigando o conhecimento do conhecimento em enfermagem.ABSTRACT Objective: to think about Grounded Theory as a methodological resource for qualitative research in nursing. Content: the discussion was based on dialogue among authors who converge with the assumptions of Grounded Theory, which run counter to the classic methodological script of qualitative research. Two lines of argument were traced for the thinking to take place: the first based on the Grounded Theory method as such, and the second on knowledge in nursing research. Conclusion: the current situation demands that nursing researchers commit to the population’s health needs and the Unified Health System, and requires feasible, effective, efficient problem-solving strategies, of which Grounded Theory is one, instigating knowledge of knowledge in nursing.RESUMENObjetivo: reflexionar sobre la Grounded Theory como recurso metodológico para investigaciones cualitativas en enfermería. Contenido: se utilizó como base para la discusión o el diálogo entre autores convergentes con los supuestos de la Grounded Theory que caminan al revés del guion metodológico clásico de la investigación cualitativa. Se dibujaron dos líneas argumentativas para que la reflexión ocurriera: la primera desde el método Grounded Theory propiamente dicho y la segunda sobre los saberes en la investigación en enfermería. Conclusión: la actual coyuntura impone el compromiso del investigador de enfermería respecto a las necesidades de salud de la población y al Sistema Único de Salud, y requiere estrategias de afrontamiento de problemas factibles, eficaces, eficientes y resolutivos. La Grounded Theory es una de ellas e instiga el conocimiento de los saberes de enfermería.

The article presents the results of the study performed on 27 adults who have completed five imago therapeutic sessions. The subjects were split in two groups: problem-solving group and problem-analysis group. The peculiarities of sensory images that arise during the sessions by Glezer grounded theory method were studied. It turned out that the subject sensual tissue of the psychosemiological tetrahedron (the term of F. Vasiljuk) of the imago therapeutic image is represented mainly by sensory imaginary events and less frequently by sensual objects and recalled events. The pole and sensory tissue of meaning are least expressed in the imago therapeutic image. The pole and sensory tissue of personal meaning are significantly expressed by the imago therapeutic image. Not only elements relating to the imagination are woven into the imago therapeutic image but also elements reflecting the process of imaginative psychotherapy as a whole, a separate session, the process of imagination. These elements are closely related to the elements of imaginary and remembered events, their feelings and comprehension.

As a developing PhD student one must work to develop the ability to apply critical thinking skills and analysis. In my pursuit to further understand qualitative research methods, I chose to look more closely at grounded theory method due to its seemingly complex structure and unique method of theory development. Urquhart (2013) works to present the components of grounded theory method (GTM) as a reaction to confusion and frustration of postgraduate students struggling with the method. She provides a sequential “how to” guide on GTM while asserting the importance of staying flexible within the structure. She acknowledges and addresses the criticism of GTM and strives to dispel myths associated with the method.

In this paper the author presents the case of the exchange marriage system to delineate a model of methodological gravitism. Such a model is not a deviation from or alteration to the existing qualitative research approaches. I have adopted culturally specific methodology to investigate spouse selection in line with the Grounded Theory Method. This approach, indeed, suggests the unification of methodological individualism, collectivism, and the social positioning of the actor to study the complex and intricately intertwined networks of relatedness.

Resumo: Pesquisadores encontram dificuldades para desenvolver estudos utilizando o método da Grounded Theory (GT). Este artigo traz o percurso metodológico da operacionalização de uma GT. A investigação que proporcionou este relato buscou esclarecer quais são e como atuam os fatores que influenciam a utilização do Learning Management System na gestão da Educação a Distância, em uma universidade, a partir da experiência dos seus gestores. A pesquisa adotou a corrente Straussiana: o problema foi explicitamente definido e foram desenvolvidas a codificação aberta, a axial e a seletiva, com dados coletados a partir de entrevistas semiestruturadas e documentos. A principal contribuição deste artigo é apresentar os procedimentos operacionais para a construção de uma GT.Palavras-chave: Grounded theory; Método; Pesquisa qualitativa; Procedimentos operacionais. Grounded Theory operationalization: the methodological routeAbstract: Researchers has been found difficult to develop studies using the Grounded Theory (GT) method. This article presents the methodological route about an operationalization of a GT. The research that provided this description sought to clarify what are and how they act the factors that influence the use of the Learning Management System in the management of Distance Education in a university, based on the experience of its managers. The research adopted the Straussian current: the problem was explicitly defined and open, axial and selective coding were developed, with data collected from documents and semi-structured interviews. The main contribution of this article is to present the operational procedures for the construction of a GT.Keywords: Grounded Theory; Method; Qualitative Research; Operational procedures.

In this pedagogical proposal, we utilized Feminist Pedagogy and narratives to reveal women’s skills that they had silenced in their cover letters for employment. Five females’ narratives were analyzed using aspects of the grounded theory method to answer the question: What do women’s narratives reveal about their personal skills otherwise silenced in their cover letters? The results showed that women find strength in their spirituality, as well as demonstrating loyalty, flexibility, respectfulness, and resilience. All of the women wrote about their decision-making abilities, which included organization, responsibility, and problem-solving. Finally, the stories revealed that women’s ability to make choices defined their freedom and their future.

Grounded on cognitive – emotions theory and using netnography methods combined with grounded theory in qualitative research, this article expand and explore the boycott bahavior model. Findings explore 12 emerged categories from qualitative data; 6 new categories include “boycott calls”, “disgust”, “apathy”, “contemporary relationship animosity beliefs”, “historical relationship animosity beliefs” and “patriotism”
