For measuring the financial health of a business firm, there are lots of techniques available. But the Altman’s Z-score has been proven to be a reliable tool across contexts. Bangladesh cement industry is a unique one because, the industry is producing a higher amount of cement than the local demand having no supply of local raw materials. The main objective of the study is to assess the fundamental financial health of this industry using Z-score model. All listed cement firms are considered in this study. The required information has been collected from the annual reports of the selected companies and from other sources. The study revealed that two firms, Heidelberg cement and Confidence Cement, are financially sound whereas other three are not in a good position. The findings of the study can be useful for the managers to take financial decision, the stockholders to choose investment options and others to look after their interest in the concern cement manufacturers of the country.

The performance of Islamic banks during the Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the financial soundness of Islamic Banks. Islamic Banks in Indonesia should restructure the Financing (PYD) which results in the acquisition of revenue and net profit received by the bank. The aims of this study are to analyze the soundness of Bank BNI Syariah using the CAMEL, RGEC method, the level of cost efficiency and profitability. Then also measured the potential for BNIS bankruptcy with the Altman Z-Score model. The potential risk of bankruptcy in Islamic Banks is very possible if bank management during the Covid-19 pandemic are not carried out properly and professionally. Secondary data is used during the period 2015 to 2020 to analyze the performance of Islamic Banks before the pandemic and during the pandemic. The results of the CAMEL and RGEC analysis show that soundness conditions varied from "Not Very Good" to "Very Good" from 2015 to 2020. In 2020 the soundness condition of BNIS is "Fairly Good". Meanwhile, the Altman Z-Score shows that BNIS is experiencing a “Not Bankrupt” condition, the level of bank efficiency is “High” and at analysis of profitability as reflected by the ROA ratio, ROE during the pandemic has decreased.

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah menilai kesehatan keuangan mitra menggunakan metode Z-Score untuk memprediksi kesehatan keuangan mitra atau calon debitur. Subjek penelitian ini di tiga mitra atau nasabah dari PT Mitra Bisnis Keluarga Ventura dari sektor manufaktur dan perdagangan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Metode analisis data menggunakan model Altman Z-Score dengan menganalisis laporan keuangan nasabah PT Mitra Bisnis Keluarga Ventura dari tiga periode atau lebih. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, Data Mitra A dikategorikan sehat dengan Z-Score 3,80, Data Mitra B dikatakan tidak sehat dengan nilai 0,52 dan Data Mitra C dikatakan Grey Area karena memiliki angka di bawah 2,60, yaitu 2,33. Hasil penelitian ini mengimplikasikan bahwa Keterkaitan antara Metode Z-Score dengan hasil keputusan tingkat kesehatan keuangan cukup membantu dalam menganalisis laporan keuangan dan dapat menghasilkan keputusan yang tepat dalam menilai kesehatan keuangan mitra. ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to assess the financial health of partners using the Z-Score method to predict the financial health of partners or prospective debtors. The subjects of this study were three partners  of PT Mitra Bisnis Keluarga Ventura from the manufacturing and trading sectors. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data analysis method uses the Altman Z-Score model by analyzing the financial statements of PT Mitra Bisnis Keluarga Ventura customers from three or more periods. Based on the results of the research conducted, Partner A's data is categorized as healthy with a Z-Score of 3.80, Mitra B's data is said to be unhealthy with a value of 0.52 and Partner C's data is said to be gray area because it has a number below 2.60, which is 2.33. The results of this study imply that the relationship between the Z-Score method and the results of financial soundness decisions is quite helpful in analyzing financial statements and can produce the right decisions in assessing the financial health of partners.

Housing financing industry is the essentially industry most of the housing financing companies contributing greatly to the development of our economy and have. Recently, some of the housing financing companies have started losing profits continuously and are on the verge of bankruptcy. The purpose of this paper is to study the financial position of housing companies by applying the famous Altman Z score model to verify whether these companies really suffered financially during the period from 2015 to 2019,16 housing companies are considered for the analysis of the study. It was found that not all the housing finance companies were performing as expected.

The evaluation of financial health is very useful for financial managers, investors and other users. In this study it is tried to know whether Z score model is able to evaluate financial health of Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals ltd for past 10 years (2007-08 to 2016-17). Analysis of this paper shows that the model is useful to know the financial soundness of Chambal Fertilizers. In this paper overall results of Z score model indicating that the financial position of the corporation is on alert to exercise the caution. These result shows that Altman model can give good analysis for fertilizers sector in India. Hence it can be concluded that user of financial statements like financial managers, analysts, investors etc can predict business failure or financial soundness of companies through Altman Z score model.

This paper aims to investigate the Validity of Altman z-score model to predict financial failure in insurance companies listed on Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) over the period 2011-2016. To achieve the goal of the study, the study depended on the different statistics analytical method and Multiple Linear Regression through doing the statistical analysis of the independent variables on the dependent variable related to the subject of the study through the (E-views) program in order to cover the analytical part of the study, in addition to the descriptive method through relying on books, periodicals, previous studies and financial reports of the insurance companies of the study’ sample, whether the direct or the indirect ones, to cover the theoretical part. The result of the study finds a high predictive power for Z-score model. Moreover, the findings reveal that Z-Score model could be valuable instrumental indicators for many users of financial statement such as financial managers, auditors, lenders, investors, to make right decisions in the face of financial failure.
