Abstract: This paper aims to examine the relationship of attitude, religious value, knowledge on zakat, law of zakat as independent variable (IV) and compliance to pay zakat on gold as dependent variable (DV). A survey approach has been adopted in this study while the data are collected via structured questionnaires. The questionnaire was distributed to 250 respondents of  Muslim women staff among academician and non-academician from three colleges in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok Kedah. In this study, the researchers developed a new construct in measuring the compliance to pay zakat on gold, knowledge on zakat and law of zakat. While, the construct in measuring attitude and religious value variable are borrowed from the previous study. The data are then quantitatively analyzed using SPSS program. The findings shows a high significant and  positive correlation between compliance to pay zakat on gold and knowledge on zakat followed by religious value, attitude and law of zakat. Further analysis using multiple regression analysis indicated that only knowledge on zakat, attitude and law of zakat give a significant and positive impact on zakat compliance payment on gold. The result of study contributed to the knowledge of zakat compliance. It is implied that the zakat authority need to intensify their efforts to further improve the effectiveness of education about zakat. Besides, it is proposed that zakat authority strives to cultivate a positive attitude of society towards zakat on gold using various strategic method.

Data was gathered from Central Bureau of Statistics (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS) and Ministry of Finance (Kementerian Keuangan/Kemenkeu). The data were analyzed using the multiple regression analysis after fulfilling all of the classical assumption tests. It showed that the inflation and interest rate have significant positive impact while tourism budget has insignificant negative impact on economic growth. In this case, monetary policy tends to be efficiently implemented at the level of promoting growth. However, Indonesia is still early on hoping significant contribution of tourism sector. Keywords: Tourism Budget, Inflation, Interest Rate, Economic Growth, GDP, Multiple Regression Analysis.

The issue of unpayable educational loan that lead to student’s defaults has become a worrying trend all over the world. This research aims to examine the relationship of anxiety, parental influence, media awareness, and religiosity on student’s perception on educational loan repayment. A survey approach has been adopted to investigate student’s perception on educational loan repayment in Universiti Utara Malaysia. The data for this study were collected via structured questionnaires which were completed by 359 undergraduate Muslim’s students who acquire their financial loan from National Higher Education Fund Corporation (NHEFC). The data were then quantitatively analyzed using SPSS program. The findings of Pearson’s correlation showed a positive correlation between student’s perception towards educational loan repayment and religiosity, parental influence, media awareness, and anxiety. Further analysis using a multiple regression indicated that all independent variables explained 32.9 per cent of student’s perception on educational loan repayment. The result again indicated that religiosity and parent’s influence are most influential factors on student’s perception towards educational loan repayment. Whilst, media awareness slightly contributed to student’s perception towards educational loan repayment and anxiety gave no impact. The result implied that the Ministry of Education may design the syllabus in school and university curricular by adding the value of responsibility in loan repayment especially in religious and moral subjects. Besides, the Ministry Education of Malaysia are also urged to use media to disseminate the information regarding the importance for students to make loan repayment to parents as well as students. The collection of student loan then can be used for the next generation in financing their study which could result the prosperity of nation.

This study examined the relationship between hand length and catching performance by 257 children (142 boys, 115 girls) in Grades K–2. Children's catching performance was determined by the number of successful catches (0–5) when a small ball was tossed underhand from 10 ft. Specifically, the children were tested on the qualitative aspects of catching, i.e., form, and catching accuracy, i.e., successful catching. Hand length was measured by standard anthropometric technique. A multiple regression analysis showed age, sex, and hand length contributed significantly ( p = .001) to catching accuracy and catching form. Implications for instruction and further research are offered.

The purpose of this study was to examine the assumption in the Developmental Therapy model that there is a close relationship between presenting behavior problems and developmental deficits. The assumption was tested by running a stepwise, backward multiple regression analysis on scores obtained for 33 subjects on two instruments used in the Developmental Therapy model to assess presenting behavior problems and developmental deficits. The analysis failed to support the assumption that the two classes of variables are related.

Generally, manufacturing capability is the important factor in running and developing business. Hence, this research is aimed to identifying the relationships of critical factors and make sure the companies can survive in the northern region of Malaysia. Those identified factors are training and manufacturing capabilities. Through the email survey, a total of 89 companies representing electrical and electronic industries had responded. The hypotheses involved were tested using correlation and regression techniques. The results of the study support all the hypotheses. The multiple regression analysis indicates that there are significant relationships among the factors on each criterion to manufacturing capabilities. While hierarchical multiple regression analysis was carried out to test the role of moderating in the relationship between independent variables with dependent variables. It is believed that results of this study will be beneficial for shareholders and directors of companies to apply these manufacturing capabilities.

The present study was conducted to assess the relationship between hostility and white space responses on the Rorschach. The Rorschach was administered individually to 80 volunteer students on the university campus. 71 subjects were undergraduates and 9 were graduates. The mean age for the group was 24 yr. Among the males, 19 were white and 4 were non-white; among the females, 49 were white and 8 were non-white. Level of hostility was determined by Elizur's scoring of content and by adding all the weights for each subject's protocol. Percent was obtained for each subject by dividing the total of such responses by R or total number of responses. A significant correlation of .20 was obtained between level of hostility and white space responses. A correlation of .46 between total responses and white space responses was also significant. Gender and level of hostility correlated —.33. A multiple regression analysis gave an r of .51 for the combination of gender and total responses and level of hostility.

This study examined the relationship of family and friends to the resiliency of older widows. Data from the National Social Life, Health, and Aging Project (NSHAP) survey (Waite et al., 2007), which sampled persons 57-85 years of age (n = 3005), was used. It was hypothesized that older widows have greater breadth and depth of family and friend relationships than older married adults. Multiple regression analysis results revealed that older widows engaged more frequently in family and friend relations compared to older married adults, possibly enabling greater resilience to widowhood.
