Counsellors are important key members in Chinese universities. In this paper, on the one hand, we compared student affairs workers’ occupational characteristics, classification and development of western as well as Chinese university. On the other hand, Chinese university faculty members and students are our subjects. Of 800 pieces circulated, 537 pieces are found to be effective. We verified the reliability and validity of data, then conducted correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The test has good reliability and validity. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and the split-half reliability coefficient are all above 0.9, indicating that the actual value is in good accordance with the true value. The internal alpha coefficient and the split-half reliability coefficient of each factor are all above 0.8. Χ2/df<5. GFI, AGFI, NFI, CFI, IFI,RMSEA and the other indicators are fitting, and this test meets measurement requirements. A 5-factor model is formulated based on the research results, including: moral quality; professional competence; political awareness; instructive ability; interpersonal skills. This 5-factor model reflects the evaluation of faculty members and students in universities on qualities of counsellors and transformation in their expectation for the role counsellors play as time goes by. So we summarize the qualities of counsellors are constantly changing. These changes have been constantly evolving in time, and their traits are such as: Objectivity of the times, Initiative of inner, Predictability of practice. Being well aware of the trend of this career is conducive to the formation of a sound relationship between counsellors and students, measurability for morality-oriented education, and improvement in counsellors’ overall qualities.

My aim in this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of the Social Curiosity Scale (SCS) among Chinese university students. Social curiosity has been conceptualized as an interest in how other people behave, think, and feel. Students (N = 916) at 3 general universities in Henan Province completed the Chinese version of the SCS. The results showed that the Chinese SCS has good internal consistency reliability. Exploratory factor analysis results indicated that the Chinese SCS presented a clear 2-factor structure, and confirmatory factor analysis results showed that the 2-factor model fitted the data better than the 1-factor model did. These results indicated that the Chinese version of the SCS has good construct validity. Therefore, the Chinese version of the SCS can be used as an effective tool for social curiosity measurement among Chinese university students.

Abstract Background Advances in technology and the expansion of nursing roles have led to complex ethical issues in nursing. Nursing students are the future clinical nursing workers and practitioners. The ethical sensitivity of nursing students is very important to the professional development of nursing students, which can strengthen the ethical cognition of nursing students, improve the ethical decision-making ability of nursing students, and is beneficial to the development of nursing students in the process of clinical practice and nursing education. However, there are no instruments to evaluate the ethical sensitivity of nursing students in China. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Chinese version of the Ethical Sensitivity Questionnaire for Nursing Students (ESQ-NS). Methods After obtaining the authorization of the author of the original scale, the study used the Brislin back-translation method for translation. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were performed to examine the underlying factor structure of the translated questionnaire. The Cronbach alpha coefficient, the test-retest reliability, and the corrected item-total correlation were calculated to verify the internal consistency of the scale. Results The Chinese version of ESQ-NS retained 13 items. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) extracts four common factors, and the cumulative variance contribution rate is 62.479%. The CFA reached the adaptive standard, and the discriminant validity of the scale was good. The Cronbach alpha coefficient of this scale was 0.821, and 4 dimensions were between 0.708 and 0.738. The results of the test-retest showed that Pearson’s correlation coefficient of the overall ESQ-NS was 0.814. Corrected item-total correlation ranged from 0.337 to 0.542. Conclusions The Chinese version of the ESQ-NS has good reliability and validity, which can be used to evaluate the level of ethical sensitivity of nursing students in China.

The aim of this study was to determine the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the Workaholism Battery (Spence & Robbins, 1992). The original scale was translated into Turkish and then administered to 175 working graduates. Confirmatory factor analysis yielded a 2-factor solution with 9 items established in the first factor (WE) and 11 in the second (D). The reliability coefficient of the new shortened scale was .83 and the split-half reliability coefficient was .69. This scale has adequate criterion-related validity, with a positive correlation between the Jenkins Activity Survey - Type A Behavior subscale (Jenkins, Zyzanski, & Rosenman, 1979) and both WE and D. Congruence between the findings and the literature is discussed.

<p>The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of indicators of good governance in public organizations to improve the level of employees’ job satisfaction. The methods were confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling using LISREL software and SPSS18 packages. The population consisted of all faculty members and staff of Lorestan University (N=500), which 217 of them were selected systematically using Kerjisi Morgan table. To collect the data 2 standardized questionnaires consisted of good governance and job satisfaction (residents and Ramadan, 2011) were used and the reliability of the questionnaire was (0.73) by calculating Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the indicators of good governance in the organization will lead to an increase in employees’ job satisfaction.</p>

Objective: The objective of this study was to create the Korean version of the Modified Practice Attitudes Scale (K-MPAS) to measure clinicians’ attitudes toward evidence-based treatments (EBTs) in the Korean mental health system. Method: Using 189 U.S. therapists and 283 members from the Korean mental health system, we examined the reliability and validity of the MPAS scores. We also conducted the first exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis on the MPAS and compared EBT attitudes across U.S. and Korean therapists. Results: Results revealed that the inclusion of both “reversed-worded” and “non–reversed-worded” items introduced significant method effects that compromised the integrity of the one-factor MPAS model. Problems with the one-factor structure were resolved by eliminating the “non–reversed-worded” items. Reliability and validity were adequate among both Korean and U.S. therapists. Korean therapists also reported significantly more negative attitudes toward EBTs on the MPAS than U.S. therapists. Conclusions: The K-MPAS is the first questionnaire designed to measure Korean service providers’ attitudes toward EBTs to help advance the dissemination of EBTs in Korea. The current study also demonstrated the negative impacts that can be introduced by incorporating oppositely worded items into a scale, particularly with respect to factor structure and detecting significant group differences.

Research that examines intimate partner violence (IPV) in the Arab world has been hampered by a lack of comprehensive valid and culturally appropriate measures. The purpose of this study was to test the reliability and validity of the Arabic version of the Composite Abuse Scale (CAS) in a sample of 299 Saudi women recruited from primary healthcare centers. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) did not support the original four-factor structure of CAS. Exploratory factor analysis revealed that the item pool reliably distinguished four different types of abuse (physical abuse, verbal abuse, sexual abuse, and control). Two items were dropped from the scale leaving a 27-item scale. The final four-factor model with 27 items was supported through further CFA, including analyses supporting the fit of the four-factor model on a higher level, second-order concept (IPV). Total and subscales CAS scores demonstrate excellent to good reliability and evidence of concurrent validity based on correlations with established measures of depression (Center for Epidemiologic Studies-Depression [CESD]) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (PTSD Checklist-Civilian Version [PCL-C]).

Background and Purpose:The purpose of this study was to test the reliability and validity of the conceptual model of critical care nursing using the Nursing Activities Score (NAS) for intensive care unit (ICU) patients.Methods:An observational study conducted in 2011 using the NAS scores of 219 patients in Norway. The inter-rater reliability (IRR) was tested by parallel classifications. The validity was explored by an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) as the measurement models in the structural equation model.Results:Within the paired ratings the Spearman's correlation coefficient was 0.39. The EFA results explained 77% of the variance with six factors. The reduced CFA model resulted in a three-factor model: relationship, prevention and treatment. Conclusion: The findings supported the IRR and construct validity of the conceptual model of the NAS.

In this study the reliability and validity analysis of “Scale of Allah Centeredness” (SAC) are presented. This scale has been developed to measure the extent to which people's feelings in the natural flow of social life, especially those that directly concern them, center God on their assessment of these situations, in other words, to what extent they accept God's consent as a measure of goodness and righteousness. Two main applications were carried out in the study except the two pretests. The data of the first study on 326 people over the age of 16 were subjected to factor analysis and as a result a 8-item one-dimensional scale structure was obtained. Again, with the data of the second study conducted on 185 adults over 16 years of age, the 8-item single-factor structure obtained as a result of the first analysis was subjected to confirmatory factor analysis. Based on the confirmatory factor analysis, the following scores were obtained: X2 /df = 1.73, RMSEA= 0.074, NFI = 0.95, NNFI = 0.97, CFI = 0.98, RFI = .98, IFI = .93, RMR = 0.062, SRMR = 0.046, GFI = 0.94 ve AGFI = 0.89. The reliability coefficient (Cronbach’s Alpha) of 8 items and the single-factor construct was .89. Also, the results of the split half reliability (Spearman Brown) test were as follows: Reliability coefficient of the first half was .76, the reliability coefficient of the second half is .77 and the correlation coefficient (r) between the two halves is .81. The values revealed show that the scale is a reliable and valid scale.

The main goal of the present study was to analyze the psychometric properties of the revised version of the Adolescent Cyber-Victimization Scale (CYBVICS). This scale is composed of 18 items that assess direct and indirect cyber-victimization. Two subsamples participated in the present study. Sample 1 included 1318 adolescents (47.4% boys) from 12 to 16 years old (M = 13.89, SD = 1.32). Sample 2 was composed of 1188 adolescents (51.5% girls) from 12 to 16 years old (M = 14.19, SD = 1.80). First, an exploratory factor analysis was conducted on sample 1. Results yielded a bifactor structure: direct cyber-victimization and indirect cyber-victimization. To confirm the structure of the CYBVICS, we selected sample 2 to perform confirmatory factor analysis and test its convergent validity with theoretically related measures. The results supported the reliability and validity of the two-factor model. In addition, measurement invariance was established. Related to convergent validity, positive correlations between cyber-victimization and peer victimization, depressive symptoms, and offensive communication with the mother and the father were found. Moreover, negative correlations were found between cyber-victimization and open communication with the mother and the father and family self-esteem.

The current study aimed to develop a simplified version of the Korean Workaholism Scale (KOWS) by determining the reliability and validity of the Workaholism Analysis Questionnaire (WAQ) initially created by Aziz et al. The original scale of the WAQ was translated into Korean and then administered to 4,242 working people from a broad range of economic sectors. The nation-wide sample was a representative one from the 17th wave Korean Labor and Income Panel Study in 2014. The main body comprises two steps. First, through an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) as well as a reliability analysis, along with content validity examination among experts, thirteen items from the original WAQ were eliminated. The EFA yielded a four-factor solution with four items established in compulsive dependency (CD), four in illusion of control (IC), four in endurance of conflicts (EC), and four in withdrawal symptoms (WS). This process provided a succinct and convenient measure of workaholism, the KOWS with 16 items. The reliability coefficient (α) of the new scale was .90, and the split-half reliability coefficient was .72. Secondly, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed by way of structural equation modeling to validate the new construct. This KOWS showed adequate convergent validity (AVE > .5), construct reliability (CR > .7), as well as discriminant validity (AVE > ρ2). Between four subscales of the KOWS and affective commitment (AC) to organizations there proved meager correlation. In conclusion, the KOWS with 16-item psychometric properties is a valid and reliable tool to measure workaholism in South Korea.
