The paper discusses links between bilingualism and creativity. It begins with a theoretical introduction and then presents research results based on the Creative Behaviour Questionnaire KANH–I (Popek 2000) in a group of 107 high school students. The obtained data was used to test group differences between attendees of classes learning German bilingually and their peers following standard curriculum, which yielded no significant results. The correlation analysis between bilingualism and the dimensions of creative behaviour according to KANH–I yielded no significant results as well. Finally, possible explanations of the results are discussed, along with the limitations of the present study.

The paper aims at establishing the relation between the degree of acceptance and preferences of relatively general personal and social goals (18 of each) and attitudes toward a set of politically relevant issues. The sample consisted of 243 18-year-old high school students. The resulting correlations between goals and attitudes are shown to be slight to moderate. Socially and politically relevant attitudes are connected more strongly with preferred social than personal goals. Two opposite groups of values (goals) have been found - conditionally speaking, modernism and traditionalism. They correlate positively or negatively with a number of attitudes, social identifications, trust in institutions and readiness for activism. This tendency has been confirmed by canonical correlation analysis.

The objective of this research is to find out the effect of Personality (P) and knowledge students about ecosystem (KS) on environmental behaviour (EB). An expost facto method has been used by selecting 8 sample for each cell. Reliability of P was  .964, KS was .937 and EB was .95. Data analyzed by two-way ANOVA. Research results revealed that there was environmental behaviour significant difference between those students who have most extraversion personality compared to introversion personality. Moreover, there was significant interaction effect between personality and knowledge students about ecosystem on environmental behaviour.

In this millennial era, English speaking skills are very necessary for young learners, especially for Vocational High Schools students. However, few teachers still have difficulties in choosing the right technique to teach the speaking skills. Consequently, students feel that speaking is the hardest skill in English. This paper is aimed at discussing how to improve the students’ transactional speaking skills (group discussion) using problem-based group discussion technique at Vocational High School 5 Gowa. A quantitative research design was used to carry out this study with support from the data collection instrument i.e. speaking video test (group discussion). The design of this study conducted using a quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group design. Twenty (20) students in two classes i.e. ten students for the experimental class and ten students for the controlled class of the intermediate level were purposively selected to participate in this study. The results of this study showed that the problem-based group discussion technique is able to improve students’ transactional speaking skills. It was proved by the result of the statistical analysis of the level significance P = 0.05 with the degree of freedom (df) = 9 indicated that the t-test values of the students’ transactional speaking skills (3.498) was higher than the t-table value (2.262). The outcome of this research indicates that this technique is effectively able to improve the students’ transactional speaking skills in exchanging information, taking a part in formal discussions and even learning to work in real-life situations

This study aims to describe and compare the effectiveness of the application of STAD and TPS types in cooperative learning to the students. This study was a quasi-experiments research in which students were designed into a form of the experimental group (pre-test and post-test group designs), where the cooperative learning of STAD and TPS types will be applied in learning mathematics. The population in this study were junior high school students in Ternate, while samples were taken by 60 random students who had the same characteristics as the population. The result of the study shows that cooperative learning model of both STAD and TPS types are very effective to be applied on studying mathematics. However, between the STAD and TPS types of cooperative learning, the STAD types are more effective than TPS, seen from accomplishing standards of competence, mathematical communication skills, and mathematical thinking ability of Junior High School students.

The relevance of this problem research is conditioned on the intellectually trained teaching staff shortage and the complexity of organizing pre-professional teacher training in high school. The purpose of this article is to develop and test the program named "Intellect" for students of pedagogical specialized classes. The content of the program has an intellectual, emotional-value, communicative holistic impact on students: The leading research method for this problem was the questionnaire survey, that was conducted in 114 high school students and 13 teachers, which allowed to identify positive dynamics in high school students attitude to modern education and pedagogical activity. The article proves that an expanded psychological and pedagogical intelligence-based education can be the constructing successful life trajectories foundation for high school students The presented in the article research results indicate that the «Intellect» program implementation give rise to intellectual (cognitive) activity of high school students; pedagogical education professional preferences cultivation; activation of essential in the pedagogical field personal qualities of high school students; students self-development. Practical relevance of the research results is the ability to use the presented program to organize pedagogical oriented specialized classes.

Polymeric materials are important at present and there are few studies of High School students' ideas about them. Therefore, we carried out a study that aims to approach High School Spanish students' knowledge about these materials. A qualitative methodology, based on semi-structured interviews, has been used. Twelve High School students (eight of 10th grade and four of 12th grade) have participated in this research. Results indicate that: a) Tenth grade students' knowledge level about polymers is low, i.e. this level is inadequate for a scientifically literate citizen; and b) This knowledge level does not significantly improve after finishing 12th grade.

AbstractBackgroundCurrently, there is limited or no data demonstrating that vaping is associated with increased transmission or prevalence of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19). Our study aims to investigate the relationship of vaping with the prevalence of COVID-19 infection across the United States and in the District of Columbia.MethodsCOVID-19 case counts by state and the District of Columbia were obtained via the Worldometers website on 04/30/2020. Prevalence of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents were calculated using estimated 2019 population data from the US Census Department. Age ranges analyzed were: high school age children, Ages 18-24, Ages 25-44, and Ages 45-65. Spearman correlation analysis was conducted to determine if the rate of vaping was correlated with a higher prevalence of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population.FindingsThe Spearman correlation analysis demonstrated that persons vaping between 18 years and 24 years of age had a correlation coefficient of 0.278 with prevalence of COVID-19 infection (p=0.048). Vaping high school students had a correlation coefficient of 0.153 with prevalence of COVID-19 (p=0.328). Persons vaping in the age group 25-45 years had a correlation coefficient of 0.101 in association to COVID-19 prevalence (p=0.478). And finally, persons vaping between the age 45-65 years old had a correlation coefficient 0.130 with respect to COVID-19 prevalence (p=0.364).InterpretationIncreased COVID-19 prevalence is associated with vaping in the adolescent population between ages 18 and 24. Further prospective studies need to be performed in order investigate the severity of outcomes of vaping in association with COVID-19 infection.FundingNothing to disclose.
