The dynamics of socio-economic, personal and career advancement aspects were analysed from 75 information and communication technology (ICT) women professionals, from 7 various ICT organisations from Bengaluru, India. ICT industry continues to be the largest private sector employer in India for women in that 800,000 women currently working in this sector account for over 30 per cent of the existing hires and this figure is all set to rise in the future. The characteristics of the ICT industry in India and the nature of the work pose some unique challenges for women professionals in the industry. This study focuses on how does work and family related factors influence the work life balance and work conflict of women professionals. It is very evident that career oriented women has to manage / balance work & life due to stereotypic roles played. ICT women professionals have agreed that their career advancement is influenced by work or personal life enhancement. ICT Women Professionals have said that they have been affected by gender through various reasons on work interferences with personal life & career advancement. It is evident that there is a concern among women professionals working in shifts and it does bring in work on family conflict & family on work conflict.There is a very high significant relationship between Work Life Balance (WLB) and Work Life Conflict (WLC). Even when there is a support from the family, the individual undergoes conflict on not managing both sides effectively.WLB & WLC is a significant factor leading to overall performance of the ICT Women Professionals.They should possess strong work role salience since work helps define the career-cantered professional’s self- concept, which should further intensify the potential incompatibility between the work and life domains.

Work-life balance refl ects an individual’s orientation across career roles and non-carrier life roles as an incompatible inter-role phenomenon. In the transition to an information-based global economy, the lines between work and home are blurring as technology reshapes the work place and the nature of home life evolves. Information technology (IT) has become a vital and integral part of every individual’s life. From a teenager who loves technologically advanced cum latest gadgets and an adult who is addicted of using cloud-computing technology as for data’s storing. The reasons for the omnipresent use of computer technology in the real world can best be determined by looking at how it is being used across the real world. Role of IT in balancing work-life is all about delivering ease, effi ciency and maintaining individual’s healthy environment. There are numerous roles of IT which makes us integrally prominent, smart and active, and makes an effective aura in between work-life. Role of IT in work-life balance has been an electrifying current investigation subject from the recent years; the purpose of the research role of IT in work-life balance shows the how IT makes individuals life convenient, promising, stressless, and relatively safe.


In this fastmoving world Work-life balance of an individual is a challenging one particularly for the working professionals, such as doctors and medical representatives. In this empirical study the researcher examined the work-life balance of Medical Representatives. The main objective of the study is to find out the agreement level of Medical Representatives with regard to the influencing factors such as working timings, travel, target orientation, lack of support, physical working environment and stress. The study was conducted with the sample of 74 respondents. The analyses of the study were made with the tools of percentage analysis, one samplet-test and one way ANOVA. The study concluded that factors such as working timings, travel, target orientation, lack of support, physical working environment and stress were termed as disturbing factors
