Abstract The result of the extraction of the edge and contour information of the multifunctional digital ship image directly affects the evaluation and recognition of the subsequent image quality. At present, the common method used to extract the edge contour information is based on the Canny operator, and there is a problem that the edge is not clear. In order to obtain more accurate edge information, a method of extracting edge and contour information of multimedia digital image based on multi-scale morphology is proposed. Firstly, the digital ship image is made double filter and the fuzzy threshold segmentation, and then the edge and contour information is extracted by multi-scale morphology. Experiments show that the proposed method can obtain more accurate edge information compared with the other methods.

Digital radiography is becoming one of the common radiographic testing techniques in various industries. However, to apply this new technique to nuclear components, one big issue is how to evaluate the images and ensure that the images have enough quality to be used as inspection record. In film radiography, the IQI, which stands for Image Quality Indicator, have been used to ensure that the films have enough quality to detect any specified defects in the products. In this paper, new alternative IQI that was developed in our previous study for digital radiography to evaluate digital image quality is tested and evaluated. In addition, new image evaluation criteria are also developed and evaluated by calculating MTF, which stands for Modulation Transfer Function, from the IQI images of the products. Finally, the recommended procedures to evaluate radiographic testing image are summarized.

HOG Feature is an efficient edge information descriptor, but it ignores the spatial arrangement of local FER features. In this respect, this paper puts forward a spatial multi-scale model based on an improved HOG algorithm which uses canny operator instead of traditional gradient operator. After the image is divided into a series of sub-regions layer by layer, the histogram of orient gradients for each sub-region is calculated and connected in sequence to obtain the spatial multi-scale HOG feature of whole image. Compared with traditional HOG and the improved PHOG, the proposed SMS_HOG algorithm acquires 5% recognition rate improvement and 50% processing time reduction.

In this paper, the authors splice together an image which has been split up on a piece of paper by using duplication detection. The nearest pieces are connected using edge searching and matching and the pieces that have graphics or textures are matched using the edge shape and intersection between the two near pieces. Thus, the initial step is to mark the direction of each piece and put the pieces that have straight edges to the initial position to determine the profile of the whole image. The other image pieces are then fixed into the corresponding position by using the edge information, i.e., shape, residual trace and matching, after duplication or sub-duplication detection. In the following steps, the patches with different edge shapes are searched using edge duplication detection. With the reduction of rest pieces, the montage procedure will become easier and faster.

The extraction of edge feature is a key technology in the foreign fibers recognition. The traditional algorithm of edge detection operator is more sensitive to noise, which is unable to extract complete edge information. Based on the morphological edge detection, we can get the ideal foreign fibers edge characteristics under the condition of noise for the multi-scale structure elements, combining with inflation and corrosion operator to structure morphology gradient operator, the adjustment of morphology structure elements dimensions. Experiment results show that it has a certain feasibility and effectiveness compared to classic edge detection algorithm in the respect of restraining the noise and improving the testing precision.

Carrying out comparative studies may pave the way for knowing some universal facts about human language and the common characteristics the compared languages have. The present study tackled one phenomenon of language, the diminutive, which was seen common both to English and Arabic. In English, the diminutive usually shows that something is small and it is either used literally or metaphorically. In Arabic, on the other hand, such meanings are also to be noticed together with the idea that the diminutive mainly means shortening. The paper was divided into three sections and a conclusion. Section one dealt with the diminutive in English giving a definition, talking about the formation of the diminutive, showing the relation between the diminutive and phonology, the diminutive and productivity, the diminutive and borrowing, the diminutive and other languages and afterwards the relation between the diminutive and pragmatics. Section two, on the other hand, was concerned with the diminutive in Arabic where a definition was also given, the functions the diminutive achieve, the conditions for forming the diminutive, the prosodic measures the diminutive follows and the rules and exceptions it follows. Section three was a comparison between the diminutive in English and Arabic. The study ended with mentioning some conclusions the study came out with. It was seen that the two languages differed on the phonological level, some differences were noticed as regards the parts of speech and functions the diminutive perform in each of the two languages.

SummarySephadex gel filtration of human plasma gave results suggesting the presence of two proactivators of plasminogen, termed proactivators A and B.Activity resembling that of proactivator A was found in rabbit plasma, but not in guinea pig plasma.Plasminogen activators produced by the interaction of proactivator A of human plasma with streptokinase had no caseinolytic or TAMe esterolytic effect.Proactivator A can be separated in a form apparently free from plasminogen, as shown by the heated fibrin plate test and by immunological analysis. On the other hand, proactivator B concentrates prepared so far are contamined with plasminogen.Human proactivators appear to be far more susceptible to streptokinase than are rabbit proactivators.Inhibitors of the fibrinolysin system were observed in the plasmas of all 3 species. These inhibitors are not present in the euglobulin fraction of plasma. Sephadex fractionation of euglobulin fractions results in proactivator preparations that do not contain inhibitors.

The Common properties (community property) is an asset that the husband and wife acquired during the household lifes, which both of them is agree that after united through marriage bonds, that the property produced by one or both of them will be common property. It shows, that if there's an agreement between husband and wife before marriage (did not to unify their property), then the property produced both will not become a joint treasure. Thus, if a husband or wife dies, or divorces, then the property owned by both of them can be distributed in accordance with their respective shares, another case when the two couples are not making an agreement, then the property gained during marriage bonds can be divided into types of communal property. In Islamic law, this kind of treasure is not contained in the Qur'an or Sunnah. Nor in Islamic jurisprudence. However, Islamic law legalizes the existence of common property as long as it is applicable in a society and the benefit in the distribution of such property. In contrast to the positive law, this property types have been regulated and described in the Marriage Law, as well as the Islamic Law Compilations, which became the legal restriction in the affairs of marriage in force in Indonesia. In this study, the author tries to compile the existence of common property according to the Islamic law reviews and positive law.

This is the first comparative article to investigate commonalities in Ukrainian and Irish history, identity, and politics. The article analyzes the broader Ukrainian and Irish experience with Russia/Soviet Union in the first and Britain in the second instance, as well as the regional similarities in conflicts in the Donbas region of Eastern Ukraine and the six of the nine counties of Ulster that are Northern Ireland. The similarity in the Ukrainian and Irish experiences of treatment under Russian/Soviet and British rule is starker when we take into account the large differences in the sizes of their territories, populations, and economies. The five factors that are used for this comparative study include post-colonialism and the “Other,” religion, history and memory politics, language and identities, and attitudes toward Europe.
