The work approaches theoretical and implementation issues of a framework for creating and executing Learning Objects (LOs) where problem-solving tasks are ordered according to the matching of two parameters, both calculated automatically: (1) student skill level and (2) problem solution difficulty. They are formally defined as algebraic expressions. The definition of skill level is achieved through a rating-based measure that resembles the ones of game mastery scales, while the solution difficulty is based on mistakes and successes of learners to deal with the problem. An empirical study based on existing students data demonstrated the suitability of the formulas. Besides, the motivational aspects of learning are considered in depth. In this sense, it is important to propose activities according to the student’s level of expertise, which is achieved through presenting students with exercises that are compatible with the difficulty degree of their cognitive skills. Also, the results of an experiment conducted with four highschool classes using the framework for the domain of logarithmic properties are presented.

Simplex method is one of the most useful methods to solve linear program. However, before using the simplex method, it is required to have a base feasible solution of linear program and the linear program is changed to thetypical form. Although there are some methods to gain the base feasible solution of linear program, artificial variablesare added and the times of calculating are increased with these calculations. In this paper, an extended algorithm of the simplex algorithm is established, the definition of feasible solution in the new algorithm is expended, the test number is not the same sign in the process of finding problem solution. Explained the principle of the new algorithm and showed results of LP problems calculated by the new algorithm.

AbstractThis article summarises discussions concerning the definition of "engineering geodesy" within the German Geodetic Commission. It is noted that engineering geodesy by means of its tasks, methods and characteristics is an application-oriented science whose research questions often arise from observed phenomena or from unsolved practical problems. In particular it is characterised by the professional handling of geometry-related problems in a cost-effective manner that includes comprehensive quality assessment at all phases of the problem solution - from planning through measurement to data processing and interpretation. The current methodical developments are primarily characterised by the increasing integration of the measurement and analysis into challenging construction, production and monitoring processes as well as by the transition to spatially continuous methods. A modern definition of engineering geodesy is proposed at the end of this article.

This paper reviews the progress that has been made towards the definition of a new generation of computer assisted problem solving tool. When we solve problems with a computer we state the solution in terms of several languages, beginning with a requirements specification language and ending with a program. Beginning with a generalization of a programming language, this paper follows steps towards the removal of control and data structure information in a problem solution. The effort discussed here would result in the requirements specification language being the final language used in problem solving.

The article is devoted to the directions natural resources reserves formation basis on inclusive development of the territory. We consider the definition of natural resources reserve use, which unlike common understanding reserve includes the related services provided to meet the requirements of inclusive growth. The expediency of natural resources reserves use forming is considered on the example of therapeutic muds of the Kuyalnyk estuary. Today, there is a lack of funds for infrastructure development needs for state and communal enterprises that carry out their activities on the natural resources using. Such situation has developed at the state importance Kuyalnyk resort in Ukraine. Having all the natural importance competitive advantages the implementation of health activities using the therapeutic mud of the Kuyalnyk estuary, economic activity in the area is declining due to lack of funds for infrastructure development. The problem solution is possible through the natural resources reserves formation for their further use on inclusive development base. The option principle can apply in reserves of use formation, which makes it possible to calculate the break-even point. It is also necessary to pay attention to the standards for calculating tax liabilities and their further redistribution to the needs of territorial development.

A problem of definition of the optimum equipment allocation on production site is considered. A flexible and rigid computation models to solve the problem are described, drawbacks and advantages of both the models are pointed out. An algorithm for the problem solution at the use of the flexible model is offered. This algorithm is formed on the synthesis of an heuristic algorithm of annealing imitation with methods of linear programming.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to discuss how the province over time has addressed problems that are generic to many jurisdictions in assuring quality: level of aggregation, pooling, definition of new and continuing programs, scope of jurisdiction, role of governors, performance indicators, relationship to accreditation, programs versus credentials, benchmarking and isomorphism. The paper will pay particular attention to the balance between institutional autonomy in promoting quality and innovation in contrast to system-wide standards for assuring quality. The Province of Ontario has had some form of quality assurance since 1969. For most of the period since then, there were separate forms for undergraduate and graduate programs. Eligibility for public funding is based on the assurance of quality by a buffer body. In 2010, after two years of work, a province-wide task force devised a new framework. Design/methodology/approach – The structure of the paper is a series of “problem/solution” discussions, for example, aggregation, pooling, isomorphism and jurisdiction. Findings – Some problems are generic, for example, how to define a “new” program. Assuring quality and enhancing quality are fundamentally different in terms of process. Research limitations/implications – Although many of the problems discussed are generic, the paper is based on the experience of one jurisdiction. Practical implications – The article will be useful in post-secondary systems seeking to balance autonomy and innovation with central accountability and standardization. It is particularly applicable to undifferentiated systems. Social implications – Implications for public policy are mainly about locating the most effective center of gravity between assuring quality and enhancing quality, and between promoting quality and ensuring accountability. Originality/value – The approach of the discussion and analysis is novel, and the results portable.

We investigate a new class of cocoercive operators named generalized -cocoercive operators in Hilbert spaces. We prove that generalized -cocoercive operator is single-valued and Lipschitz continuous and extends the concept of resolvent operators associated with -cocoercive operators to the generalized -cocoercive operators. Some examples are given to justify the definition of generalized -cocoercive operators. Further, we consider a generalized set-valued variational-like inclusion problem involving generalized -cocoercive operator. In terms of the new resolvent operator technique, we give the approximate solution and suggest an iterative algorithm for the generalized set-valued variational-like inclusions. Furthermore, we discuss the convergence criteria of iterative algorithm under some suitable conditions. Our results can be viewed as a generalization of some known results in the literature.

What does it take for organizations to innovate? Although, there several classifications that define Innovation Management they can be grouped into four categories: Strategy, Processes, Culture, and Funding. While strategy focus on the idea of organizations being proactive to fast adapt to changes and exploit opportunities, processes are determinant for the definition of the problems, validate and test solutions that fit the market. Meanwhile, culture is being necessary to leverage innovation and introduce practices for knowledge management and continuous innovation. The research focused on why and how, bringing relevance to the context of the organizations, either social or technological, experimental methods, partner value, and internal mechanisms for innovation orientation. The goal is to provide an integral vision and balanced practical approach for the development of products, services, business model redesign in a sustainable manner. It is an attempt to manage the uncertainty factor and at the same time identify and generate opportunities through the ability to intervene proactively in the market with stakeholders and technical systems. In this way, it overcomes the management problem-solution shorter cycle, within a micro constructivist approach of small groups, of mentoring programs.
