Hawk moth Sphecodina caudata (Bremer et Grey, 1853) (Lepidoptera, Sphingidae) is recorded for the Amurskaya Oblast for the first time. The new locality is situated in the extreme southeastern part of this region (3 km W Kundur village, Khingan Nature Reserve), in 308 – 420 km north-west of previously known habitats in the south of the Khabarovsk Krai. Overwiew of the distribution of S. caudata in Russia is provided.

Currently, 128 species of Curculionid beetles (Anthribidae – 3, Rhynchitidae – 11, Attelabidae – 11, Brentidae – 7 and Curculionidae – 92 and Scolytidae – 4) are first found in the Bolshekhekhtsirsky Nature Reserve. In total, 104 species are first found in the reserve for the first time. There are the first record of 25 species, Thompsonirhinus (Maculinvoles) mandschuricus (Voss, 1939), Protapion apricans (Herbst, 1797), Protapion fulvipes fulvipes (Foureroy, 1785), Oxystoma cerdo (Gerstaecker, 1854), Trichapion simile (Kirby, 1811), Stenopterapion (Stenopterapion) meliloti (Kirby, 1808), Eutrichapion (Eutrichapion) viciae (Paykull, 1798), Dorytomus nordenskioldi Faust, 1882, Dorytomus suvorovi Reitter, 1911, Cossonus (Caenocossonus) tibialis Folwaczny, 1964, Rhinoncomimus (Homorosomulus) latipes Korotyaev, 1997, Zacladus (Amurocladus) asperulus (Faust, 1893), Ceutorhynchus albosuturalis (Roelofs, 1875), C. nitidulus Faust, 1887, Glocianus punctiger (C.R. The corticioid basidiomycete Jaapia ochroleuca (Bres.) Nannf. et J. Erikss. is recorded for the first time in the European Russia from the «Bryansky Les» Nature Reserve (Bryansk Region). The taxonomic position of the species is defined briefly. Its morphological description and data on distribution and ecology are provided. The details of microscopic structure of the collected specimen are illustrated.

The present note is the first record of the pike cichlid Crenicichla tendybaguassu for Uruguay, extending its distribution about 400 km to the South. The presence of C. tendybaguassu and their co-occurrence with other priority species for conservation in Uruguay adds greater value to conservation of the Cuareim River (Middle Uruguay River). Coloration of live breeding females is described for first time.

First and additional host-plant records for 38 species of Gelechiidae from South Africa and Kenya are presented. An annotated list with brief descriptions of larval biology and known geographical distributions is presented. Three species are described as new: Mesophleps kruegeri sp. nov. (Namibia: Kavango Region and South Africa: Limpopo Province), Istrianis inquilinus sp. nov. (South Africa: North West Province), and Teleiopsis sharporum sp. nov. (South Africa: Limpopo Province). The new combination Istrianis epacria (Bradley, 1965) comb. nov. is proposed. The male genitalia of Hypatima melanecta (Meyrick, 1914) is described for the first time. It is noticed that male hitherto associated with T. commaculata (Meyrick, 1918) in fact refers to T. pundamilia Bidzilya & Mey, 2018. Hypatima stasimodes (Meyrick, 1931), Dichomeris coenulenta (Meyrick, 1927), Dichomeris eustacta Meyrick, 1921, Neotelphusa similella Janse, 1958 and Argophara epaxia Janse, 1963 are recorded for the first time from South Africa, and Istrianis epacria is new for Kenya. The adults, male and female genitalia are illustrated for some species mentioned in paper. The first record of the genus Teleiopsis Sattler, 1960 from South Africa is briefly discussed.

Ameiridae Monard, 1927 was previously known from Korea only after one endemic and four cosmopolitan species of the genus Nitokra Boeck, 1865, and a single widely distributed species of the genus Ameira Boeck, 1865, all from brackish enviroments. After a survey of 22 sampling sites and close to 3,500 harpacticoid specimens from various marine enviroments, we report on two new endemic species of Ameira, A. zahaae sp. nov. and A. kimchi sp. nov., from the West Sea and the South Sea respectively. They are both relatively closely related to the previously recorded cosmopolitan A. parvula (Claus, 1866), but show many novel morphological structures in the caudal rami shape and ornamentation. The identity of the cosmopolitan A. parvula in Korea is questioned, and an alternative hypothesis of a species-complex proposed. The fine ornamentation of body somites (especially the pores/sensilla pattern) is studied in detail, and proves to be a very useful new morphological tool in distinguishing closely related spacies in this genus. The genus Pseudameira Sars, 1911 is reported for the first time in Korea, after four females of P. mago sp. nov. from the South Sea. A single damaged female of Proameira cf. simplex (Norman & Scott, 1905) represents the first record of the genus Proameira Lang, 1944 in Korea, Asia, and anywhere in the Pacific. A key to Korean ameirids is also provided, and their apparent rarity in this part of the world noticed.

A red algal species,Polyneura bonnemaisonii(Delesseriaceae, Rhodophyta), is described for the first time in the Atlantic Ocean of Morocco. This is also the first reference of the occurrence of this species in Africa. This species was collected in the lower intertidal to subtidal zones, from Hyayda (north-west of Morocco). The Moroccan specimen is studied in detail and compared with other closely related species. Habitat, geographic distribution, description and illustration of the macroscopic and microscopic characters are presented and discussed in this work.

The genus Hartemita Cameron, 1910 is recorded from Russia for the first time. Hartemita spasskensis sp. n. is described from the Primorsk Territory of Russia. A key to Palaearctic species of Hartemita and a review of Cardiochilinae occurring in Russia are given.
