ABSTRACTIn this article, we present in-situ synthesis of nanoparticles of various compositions and morphologies in the nanospace of ultrathin TiO2-gel films using low temperature H2 and O2 plasmas as reductant and oxidant, respectively. Parameters that influence the formation of nanoparticles were investigated and discussed. Reversible chemical transformation was found to give monodisperse nanoparticles. Catalytic activities of Pd monometallic and Ag-core/Pd-shell bimetallic nanoparticles were tested for hydrogenation of methyl acrylate. The much enhanced catalytic activity is attributed mainly to a large ratio of the surface Pd atoms.

The homogeneous Au–Pd NPs have been prepared through a facile in situ reduction method. The optimal AuPd1.0/SiO2 catalyst could complete the conversion of chlorobenzene due to the high dispersion and modified electronic properties of Pd.

Phosphorus promoted HZSM-5 zeolites (P-HZSM-5) were prepared by synthetic methods of incipient wetness impregnation and in-situ synthesis, respectively. It was characterized by the means of XRD, SEM, BET, TG and NH3-TPD. The P-HZSM-5 zeolite prepared by incipient wetness impregnation has a large specific surface area and pore size, and the weak acidity is remarkably increased. The catalytic activity of P-HZSM-5 for the coupling transformation of methanol with 1-butene to propylene was investigated. Under the reaction conditions of temperature at 550 ℃, pressure at 0.4 MPa, space velocity at 1800 mL/(gcath) and mole ratio of CH3OH/C4H8 to 1:1, the conversion of C4H8 can reach to 75.8%, and the selectivity and yield of propylene are 42.2% and 31.9%, respectively.

A simple and facile method is described for the in situ synthesis of graphene oxide-Ag nanoplates (GO-AgNPs) hybrid structure and then served as sacrificial templates for producing graphene oxide-Au nanorings (GO-AuNRs) by galvanic replacement taken place on the GO surface. The catalytic activity of the resulting hybrid nanomaterial has been investigated for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) to 4-aminophenol (4-AP) with sodium borohydride (NaBH4). The results showed that the rate constant of GO-AuNRs nanomaterials was 0.205[Formula: see text]min[Formula: see text] and the samples showed significant enhancement in catalytic activity.
