Title (Bahasa Indonesia): Tutupan karang hidup dan keanekaragaman genera karang Scleractinia di Pantai Timur Kabupaten Minahasa, Sulawesi Utara The coastal waters east of Minahasa Regency of North Sulawesi Province is one of the areas of water that have the potential to be used as Marine Protected Areas. This study provides information on the condition of coral reefs on the eastern coast of Minahasa Regency, especially in Kamenti and in Toloun. Sampling withSCUBA was conducted using lifeform categories and transects in the form of a 50 m measuring tape with 'Line Intercept Transect' techniqueat thedepthsof 5 m, 10 m and 15 m. The condition of coral reefs in the eastern coastal waters of Minahasa Regency is generally 'good'. The percentage of coral cover in Kamenti was categorized'good', while in the waters Toloun are in a state of 'average'. Genera richness on both sites can be quite high, intotal there are44 genera with 35 genera in Kamenti and 38 genera in Toloun. Kamenti station with the depth of 15 m hasthe highest conservation value because in addition to having the highest number of genera (32 genera), it has also the highest Shannon index (3.35), the highest genera richness index (8.29), the highest genera evenness index (0, 97) and the lowest dominance index (0.12). There is no apparent correlation between the percentage of live coral cover with the number of genera or the Shannon index. But the high percentage of live coral cover is not always identical with the high genera richness; the maximum genera richness is at the intermediatecover level.

Kemujan Island is one of the largest islands in the Karimunjawa which has a varying density of coral reefs. The coral reef ecosystem has an important role however it is vulnerable to damage. The purpose of this study is to determine the decline of coral juvenile based on the depth difference, the compatibility of chemical, physical and biological factors that enhance the resilience of coral juvenile, and the correlation of coral juvenile with the coral covers and the organic material in the waters of Kemujan Island. The method used in this research is a descriptive analysis method. The method used in data collection is Line Intercept Transect (LIT) 50 meter .  The results from this study obtained that the highest abundance of juvenile corals was in the reef flat area of the west side from the waters of the Kemujan Island as many as 47 colonies while the lowest abundance was in the reef slope area of the eastern side as many as 7 colonies. The physical, chemical, and biological water parameters in the study were still in the optimum range. The condition of live coral cover on the west side of Kemujan Island waters ranged from 46.60% to 53.62% while on the east side it ranged from 44.10% to 71.38%. The abundance of juveniles coral with live coral cover, coral fragments, and organic matter showed inversed pattern relationship whereas with dead coral cover was directly proportional. Based on this study it can be known that corals juvenile have a tendency to be found more at dead coral in optimum environmental conditions.

Observations of the condition of coral reefs have been carried out in Spermonde waters from 2015 to 2018. The method used in this observation uses Underwater Photo Transect (UPT), and the data obtained is analyzed using CPCe (Coral Point Count with Excel Extensions) software. The results show that the percentage of coral cover has increased from year to year. The percentage of live coral cover in 2015 was 19.64%, 23.60 in 2016, 23.72% in 2017, and 27.83% in 2018. The increase in live coral cover from year to year is thought to occur due to the availability of nutrients. or increasing public awareness, considering this location is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Makassar. Coral reef health index values can be used to classify coral reef health. Through the analysis of the coral reef health index, an index value of 4 was obtained, which means that the condition of the coral reefs is in the “moderate” category.

The existence of coral reef fish is closely related to the availability of coral reef resource as a habitat. Coral reef fish is a biota that has a fascination with a variety of color patterns and fascinating. Differences in coral cover conditions will affect the abundance of coral reef fish, especially those with strong linkages to living corals. This research was conducted in June - August 2017 by using line intercept transect (LIT) method for coral cover percentage and visual census method for biodiversity and biomass of coral reef fish with 3 research stations in Manggis waters, Karangasem. From the research results, it shows that the diversity index ranged between 2.54 - 2.70 which means the diversity of coral reef fish in the medium category and the stability of the community is in the medium. Furthermore, total biomass of coral reef fish ranged between 186,17 - 1692,08 kg / ha. The results stated that the percentage of live coral cover in Manggis waters ranged from 3.83% to 12.44% which means that live coral cover is categorized as bad. A very strong positive correlation between living coral conditions and coral reef fish biomass was 92.42%. Meanwhile, the relationship between living coral conditions and the diversity of coral reef fish had a strong positive correlation of 65.4%. The diversity of coral reef fish in waters is not only caused by live coral cover; however, it is caused by coral reef ecosystems that are associated in the bottom of the waters.
