Jeevamruth has its good role in vegetable foods in organic farming and Jeevamru this the fermented product which is used as plant growth enhancing substances prepared by the materials available with the farmers. They are the rich sources of beneficial microbial flora which supports, stimulates the plant growth and helps in getting better vegetative growth and also good quality yield. The prepared formulation was analysed in the GCMS to characterize the traditional formulations. The results revealed that various beneficial compounds were present in the formulations. The compounds present in the formulations are Isoenanthic acid, Columbianetin and Lomatin,1, 6-Hexanediol, Mevastatin and Gitoxigenin, Dibutoxy anthracine, Erioflorin and nagilactone, Trimegestonea, Rofe Coxib, Clupanodonic acid. The composition of jeevamurth has many scientific components which helps in the plant metabolism and also improves its growth.

The results showedthat theaddition ofPGPRandA.comosussignificantly affect(P<0.05) to thelevels ofc-organic, phosphoruslevels, potassium levels, but not nitrogen levels. Addition of pineapple 50% will increase the nitrogen content twice higher than control. The best treatment is addition of PGPR and pineapple 60% with the content of C, P, K respectively 7.02%, 3.44% and 3.41%. Keywords: Euchema cottoni, Liquid Organic Fertilizer, PGPR, Ananas comosus

ABSTRACT The objective was to evaluate the effect of different spacings and mineral fertilizations on cactus pear growth and production in a randomized block design, with three replicates, in a 3 x 4 factorial scheme: three spacings, 1.00 x 0.50 m, 2.00 x 0.25 m and 3.00 x 1.00 x 0.25 m, and four fertilizations, 000-000-000, 000-150-000, 200-150-000 and 200-150-100 kg ha-1 of N, P2O5 and K2O, respectively. Plant growth was evaluated between 90 and 390 days and production and growth were evaluated at 620 days after planting. There were significant interactions between spacing and fertilization for plant height, number of cladodes and cladode area index from 90 to 390 days and for production of fresh and dry matter at 620 days after planting. Spacing influenced cladode area index, while fertilization influenced plant height, number of cladodes and cladode area index at 620 days after planting. Plant height showed cubic effect for the days after planting. Number of cladodes and cladode area index were dependent on spacing, fertilization and plant age, and fitted to cubic models. The best results of growth and production of fresh and dry matter are associated with NPK and NP fertilizations and the spacing of 1.00 x 0.50 m.

Recently, there have been many exciting new developments relating to the use of Trichoderma spp. as agents for biocontrol of pathogens and as plant growth promoters. Several mechanisms have been proposed to explain the positive effects of these microorganisms on the plant host. One factor that contributes to their beneficial biological activities is related to the wide variety of metabolites that they produce. These metabolites have been found not only to directly inhibit the growth and pathogenic activities of the parasites, but also to increase disease resistance by triggering the system of defence in the plant host. In addition, these metabolites are also capable of enhancing plant growth, which enables the plant to counteract the disease with compensatory vegetative growth by the augmented production of root and shoot systems. This review takes into account the Trichoderma secondary metabolites that affect plant metabolism and that may play an important role in the complex interactions of this biocontrol agent with the plant and pathogens.

CGA 163935, paclobutrazol, and paclobutrazol plus mefluidide were evaluated for their growth regulating effect on centipedegrass over 3 yr. Paclobutrazol did not effectively suppress seedhead production or vegetative growth. Paclobutrazol plus mefluidide at 1.1 + 0.3 kg ai ha–1in each of two applications at a 2-wk interval suppressed seedhead development 77% (average of 3 yr) at 10 wk after the initial treatment without severe injury or loss of stand, but duration of vegetative growth suppression was variable (0 to 6 wk). CGA 163935 applied at 0.4 kg ai ha–1and followed by 0.2 kg ai ha–12 wk later suppressed vegetative growth of mowed and nonmowed centipedegrass for 10 wk, while suppressing seedhead production for 3 to 5 wk. CGA 163935 caused severe injury and stand loss of centipedegrass.

The nitrogen-fixing rhizobacterium Azospirillum lives in close association with plant roots, where it exerts beneficial effects on the plant growth and yield of many crops of agronomic importance. As carrier-based inoculants have a short shelf life and poor quality, new liquid and cyst formulations of inoculants have been developed and standardized for Azospirillum . In the present investigation, experiments were conducted to study the effect of liquid and cyst formulations of Azospirillum , combined with inorganic nitrogen, on the growth and yield of rice. Inoculation with the cyst formulation of Azospirillum enhanced the plant height, biomass and N uptake of the plants, the available nitrogen content of the soil and the yield of rice to the greatest extent when compared to carrier-based Azospirillum , followed by the liquid formulation. The results of the present study clearly indicated that the cyst and liquid formulations of Azospirillum could be used as bioinoculants more effectively than the carrier-based one.
