The improvement of transit service quality is an essential role in developing urban and interstate transportation. The local government, as well as bus service companies, should understand the behavioral intention of passengers to meet their expectation and requirements. This paper aims to highlight such behavioral decision and investigate dominant factors that influence the customers’ decision to use the express bus. The study explores the case of express bus companies in Tay Ninh province, Vietnam. By using the structural equation model approach to analyze the data collected from 295 passengers, who have experienced in using the express bus, the results reveal that service quality has a significantly positive relationship with both perceived value and corporate image. Specifically, customer satisfaction and organizational image also positively influence behavioral intention. Meanwhile, service quality indirectly affects on behavioral intention throughout perceived value and corporate image. Based on the findings, we provided some insightful managerial implications and recommendations to managers of bus carriers, and valuable practical suggestions to policymakers in the local government of Tay Ninh province to improve the service quality to encourage more citizens to use the express bus.

In this article, reference will be made to the challenge of the motivation of local government employees, based on survey conducted in educational institutions and municipal enterprises in Warmia and Mazury. The main goal was to point out what non-wage motivators occurs in this institutions and which primarily affect the quality of the execution of tasks. Surveys were conducted among more than two thousand local government employees. According to respondents used motivators are: good atmosphere at work, clearly described goals and tasks, stability of employment and ability of professional trainings. To more important factors affecting to work quality respondents indicated: stability of employment and ability of professional trainings, clearly described goals and tasks and promotion opportunity.

A total of 556 individuals in Agbalenyi Community of Oji-River local government area of Enugu State, Nigeria were studied using questionnaires, focus group discussions and key informant interviews to determine the socio-cultural factors affecting the transmission of onchocerciasis. The result revealed a low level of knowledge about the cause, prevention and complications of onchocerciasis. Respondents have developed a cultural system around the disease due to long exposure. The majority are aware of the disease which they recognize once their body starts itching or musculoskeletal pain develops but only 64·4, 34·0, 1·4 and 3·6%, respectively attributed chronic itching, nodules, bad vision and leopard skin to blackfly bite. Other perceived causes mentioned include ageing, the type of food eaten, farm work and ‘bad blood’. Only 0·8% knew diagnosis could be made through skin snips. Neither Oji-River nor any of the river systems were associated with any of the complications of onchocerciasis. Significant differences in most socio-demographic characteristics were associated with differences in the level of knowledge about the disease.

A key factor in promoting egalitarian gender relations is financial independence for women. Palestinian women citizens of Israel (PWCI) serve as a case study for gender relations in a patriarchal society. The financial identity of these women develops alongside general institutional discrimination, dual judicial systems (civil and religious), civil status, and cultural norms. However, factors affecting family budget allocation and financial autonomy of women in this society are not well understood. The present qualitative study used in-depth, semi-structured interviews to analyze patterns of financial allocation in the family system. The findings reveal that the financial independence of most PWCI is limited, although the spectrum ranges from partially autonomous financial management to economic violence. Most couples keep separate accounts, where the wife receives an allowance from her husband, and the wife’s relative financial autonomy is determined by the magnitude of this allowance. Under such conditions, gender relations and power relations are unequal. Most PWCI are unemployed or working in low-paid jobs, and consequently, their contribution to the family budget is considered negligible. However, this meager contribution enables women to participate in financial decision-making, from which they are often excluded by their husband. Furthermore, the ability of women to save money is limited as well, and some must do so in a clandestine manner. The findings shed light on economic autonomy of women, and will allow policy makers to establish criteria for determining when normative economic behavior becomes violent, to promote legislation ensuring equal rights for women.
