This research aims to set a foundation for the establishment of the Ba and Kon river basins’ regional linkages between the Central Highlands and the South Central region according to the value chain of plantation timber and sugarcane. The research uses data collection and statistical analysis methods to establish a database for linking planting, processing, and consumption of plantation timber and sugarcane. The research adopts the Rural Rapid Assessment (RRA) method to assess the efficiency of wood linkages along the value chain of plantation timber goods and uses SWOT analysis to assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges for regional linkages of the plantation timber value chain. The research results show that the Ba and Kon river basins have great potentials for the production of sugarcane and plantation timber. In these basins, there have been many models linking along the value chain of goods, linking the stages of production, purchase, transportation, processing, and consumption in order to increase the value of goods. The study has established areas specializing in sugarcane cultivation and concentrated planted forest areas with wood processing factories, and sugar factories in these two river basins. Regional linkages in the basins of the Ba and Kon rivers for the plantation timber and sugar cane value chain are established according to a number of major traffic routes such as national roads 19, 19C, 25 and 29.

Different from previous studies in Vietnam, this paper focuses on fraud risk, identifying the factors that affect the risk of financial reporting fraud of listed companies in Vietnam. Moreover, the research aims to forecast the possibility of fraudulent financial statements of listed companies in Vietnam. Based on M-score models (Beneish, 1999) and F-score model (Dechow et al., 2011), this research develops experimental results based on a sample of 307 companies with 3684 financial statements observations from 2007 to 2018. Research results show that the higher financial leverage in firms’ financial statements, the higher risk of financial statements, and the higher fraud’s tendency. Moreover, the findings also show that perennial firms, bigger firms, and listed firms, they likely to have a higher tendency of financial statement fraud. Research results show that the higher the financial leverage ratio, the more errors in reporting, the higher the tendency for fraud. At the same time, the older a business, the larger its scale and listed on the stock exchange, the more likely it is that the financial statements are fraudulent.

This study was conducted in Cam Khe district, Phu Tho province to evaluate the efficiency of land use for agricultural production after land consolidation. The results show that after the consolidation, the average plot increased from 304m2 to 1,133 m2 in size, the number of plots decreased from 5.8 to 1.5 per plot per household, and socio-economic efficiency increased significantly for land users. Most of the interviewees responded that they appreciated the policy on land consolidation and mentioned that thanks to land consolidation, transport infrastructure and irrigation were planned, expanded and upgraded, which greatly facilitated mechanical application, labor reduction, and even the saving of some inputs in the production process. However, the certification of land use rights is time consuming. The number of communes in Cam Khe district implementing land consolidation is small and agricultural production related risks are challenges for some households.

This research quantifies the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on the export  decisions of Vietnamese  enterprises. To control the problem of sample selection bias, this study employs the Heckman model (1979) estimated for two equations on export participation and rate. Unlike previous researches, which mainly rely on one single proxy of FDI, this research adopts sensititivy analysis through the estimation of a model with two representative variables for FDI. It is indicated that FDI has a positive impact on the export decisions of Vietnamese enterprises. Nonetheless, FDI has an insignificant effect on the export rate of Vietnamese enterprises.

The survey results from 8 agricultural cooperatives that have applied high technology, 5 agricultural cooperatives that have not applied high technology to their production, preservation, processing and consumption, and 5 enterprises have regular transactions with cooperatives surveyed based on questionnaires showed that high technology application has helped agricultural cooperatives in Long An province significantly improve production efficiency by being more proactive in production, reducing agricultural input costs and improving productivity and product quality. However, the scale of high techechnology applications of agricultural cooperatives is still small, scattered, high technology is mainly applied in some stages in the production process and in the crop sector due to lower capital requirements for high technology and other resource limitations of agricultural cooperatives as well as constraints on policies. Since then, the study has proposed a number of recommendations to promote agricultural cooperatives to apply high technology in agriculture more effectively.
